With all the recent fixes for Gingerbread based builds I'm inching ever closer to the idea of running a gingerbread build, but I keep hearing here and there that not all apps work with it, but without any further explanation. Can anybody reply here with success or failure stories (with at least some details please)? I will compile a list of working and non-working apps on this first post.
*NOTE- If you are using MDJ's Gingerbread NAND release, I have found that some of the apps that are getting FCs can be fixed by going to Settings>Applications and choosing "Move to Phone".
Working
Advanced Task Killer
AdFree
Adobe Reader
Alchemy
CoPilot Live
Crush the Castle
DocumentsToGo
Hungry Shark 2
MapDroyd
Must Eat Birds
Pandora
Quick System Info
Ringdroid
SetCPU
Spaghetti & Marshmallows
Vignette
Wifi Analyzer
Semi - Working
Battery Diviner (Works Intermittently)
Estrongs File Explorer (Everything works except root options)
NOT Working
Quadrant Benchmark (Graphics test shows blank screen)
Instant Heart Rate (Camera Error)
doubleTwist AirSync (Network Error)
wtf has this got to do with Android NAND development?

Standard gives me a black screen. But the advanced worked on my GB build
But on the other side I've installed a lot of apps (about 50) and every single one worked like a charm. But I think there are exceptions, as mdeejay said in his thread..

Thanks, I updated the list. Can you give me a few more names of the working ones so I can add them to the list?
I'm waiting for the 1.6 release (not beta) of MDJ Gingerbread and I'll do some testing of my own.
Battery Diviner works intermittantly... On the History Graph, sometimes it will display a time that my phone will run out of power, and sometimes it will display only 2% ahead, does that make sense ?
Basically, if i'm at 80% battery level, it should display a graph for every percentage down to 0%, but sometimes it will only show down to 78% then drop immediatly to 0%.
Other times, it's perfect.
Instant Heart Rate - Doesn't work
Comes up with some error about not being able to access the camera. Yet it works on anything other than Gingerbread on my HD2.
3D compass and PacMap keep on force closing
Instant heart rate, also gave me an error when booted up yesterday, but still worked perfectly. Now today it doesn't work. So I would put that in SEMI.
I've got the same problem at quadrant. And a problem with sprite backup. Can't restore from backup...:|

I can't get it to work at all, no matter what I do - So leave it in the "Not Working" at the moment, and see if anybody has it working.
To be fairly honest,
The compatibility of apps and the fact if the ROM is SD, RAM or NAND could be different and maybe set asside some discrepancies. This could be interesting in ROM development.
Especially now NAND devlopment is still fresh out.
but still you would have to stay on point.
That said,
Quadrant works sorta weird, i get blank screen on some parts but get results 2 out of 5 times.
Scores are not great, like 1100ish.
I run NAND HD2 512 with the MDj Cyanogen 7 1.7 smartass governor on setcpu.
apps compatible with gingerbread??
Hey,
I planned to change to Gingerbread, like mdj Cyanogenmod...
I've read about, that not all apps are compatible with gingerbread, so i found this thread...
I've installed many apps:
Smooth Calender Widget, ICD-Auskunft, Medikamente, File Manager, My Work Shedule, Instant Heartrate (actually known as "not working"), Battery Monitor, CallMeter, Barcoo, Market, Wapedia, Payback, VZ-Netzwerke, Facebook, ICQ, Skype, Mein O2, Online Filiale, Paypal, eBay, XDA, Web-mail, Meine Stadt, Post Mobil, PLZ suche, Gelbe Seiten, Das Örtliche, Find My Car, Clever tanken, Hotel Auskunft, Trivago, Fahrplan DE, DB Navigator, Öffi, Maps, Kicker, N-TV, Shazam, Sunshine live, Vplayer, You Tube, Gstrings, Basichords, Ultimate guitar Tabs
please, can someone tell me, if anything's not working apart from instant heartrate?
The App AirSync Double Twist isn't compatible with Gingerbread also it gives "Network Error" just in case anyone else uses the app and is deciding to switch over to gingerbread..
Pandora?
What about Pandora? I've already opened up another thread hoping someone would be having the same experience. Pandora appears to crash on startup for me in the PPC Gingerbread build.
Slacker radio works just fine for me though.
just tried Pandora and it works fine in MDJ's cm7 2.5

I'm waiting for an answer to that bug too :/
Uninstall setcpu and if it doesn't work just stfu, I have this issue as well but crying out loud, it's 2 seconds, you guys are just over reacting, nothing is gonna be perfect, hell the HD2 runs android better then most native devices in terms of performance, so let's just be grateful and mention this bug every ten minutes, ffs it's only 2 secs anyway, some people can't even use their touch screen or launch android.

After playing with the touchpad and ipad I've really noticed how much you have to move your finger to actually scroll on the 10.1
Is there any setting to make it more sensitive?

hi,
all i can say is that i am using it, on my 10.1 v and 10.1, together with" ADW ex launcher " and it works for me.!!!
eg.
i barely touch my screen and can " swing " the icons around in a circle !
flicking from desktop page to page, is smooth and fast !
i have played with a ipad 2 a few times and its smooth, but i rate my 10.1v and 10.1 right up there !!( facts, according to me)
Finally, the customization, bit from android does/swings , it for me !to the 10.1
Just read the " relevant app " market reviews, and there is quite a few! ( nearly all are very positive reviews and i see the rating is 4.7 out of 5 ? ( if i remember correctly ?)
so all in all,
sorry to hear it does not work for you !
good luck

The Touchscreen Booster app does not work. Nobody cares about scrolling/swiping speeds on the home screens. That is not the issue.
The issue is scrolling in apps especially web browsers. Scrolling in web browsers on the tab 10 is the most frustrating experience you can have. It scrolls so slowly that you have to swipe up or down 100 times to get to the top or bottom of many webpages. Very annoying and frustrating.
Your Touchscreen Booster apps does nothing to resolve this.

hi,
plse read my post ,i gave an example about sensitivy ( in case you don't understand what i meant with ..eg ..abreviation ? Further i use it with ADW ex , ( not as a standalone ? )Further, i said read the reviews about the relevant app ( market ),etc .In general ,this is my experience and what i found.Above all, it is not " my" touchbooster as you state in your post "Your Touchscreen Booster apps does nothing to resolve this."
plse, if you have only negative comments ,don't also try and "attack/insult/etc "like getting personal ( "your ")
Keep to facts or your personal experience and thats it !
Above all " respect "other forum members ,who is only trying to give positive input to the OP question in post 1
lastly,
in my post no 3, i stated " give it a try if you want ?
good luck"
so i left the option open ,to take my advice or not !!
Again, the touchscreen booster does not change anything. It does not improve scrolling at all. It has no effect on scrolling at all. As stated before nobody cares about the home screens so I dont understand why you posted what you did. This thread is asking about scrolling not touch sensitivity. Touch sensitivity does nothing for scrolling.
Even with the app installed it does not change any aspect of the touch screen. It isnt even compatible with the tablet. Its just does not work at all.
hi , i am not interested in arguing with you .!
i stated over and over i use it with ADW ex and i believe it works for me .(you don't and i respect that )
just for your info,in post 7 ..eg..i said flicking @scrolling ?
and yes it is compatible see snip in post
lets move on and try give OP, positive advice
end of story .
thank you
again, that does nothing for scrolling. I dont understand how you think that is a solution when it does nothing for scrolling. Please explain how the app touchscreen booster improves scrolling in apps like the web browser. Please explain because I dont understand.
Thanks for your suggestion
I've installed both apps and scrolling in the browser is exactly the same
The home screen animations are different, but I'm not really bothered about this
Anyone else have any ways to fix this?
Can't believe there isn't more voice about this issue

markdj57, please comment on the above and also where you've noticed the improvements
Its the one let down with this tablet, feels a bit of a chore to use for long periods where as the Ipad is a pleasure to use in this area
is this an andriod or samsung problem?
I think the touchscreen booster app does help with scrolling. Has a more "instantaneous" reaction like my ipad. Also the ipad actually flings the pages slower than the galaxy tab IMHO
I am away from tab but I will be back on friday evening, will do a few more tests then.

You should stop attacking people with your "I know best, just because I say so" posts.
He is trying to help, hell, maybe he is helping te OP, and you are clearly not helping at all, providing 0% contribution to this topic.
Stating your (lousy) opinion like "nobody cares" or "does nothing for scrolling" are merely your opinions with no proof whatsoever. (You have a reliable source, or is this just your experience?)
As far as I see you enjoy putting people down mere on their experience, as actually trying to provide helpfull information!

That's not a problem with the ROM as much as it is a general problem with the HD2 unfortunately. It only supports 2 points on the screen, and I've found it does that terribly as well.

Because it's working for almost everyone, so it isn't really a 'known problem' as such. What version of the ROM are you on? If you're on 2.1 it'll be a bit shady, but multitouch works as well as it did on Typhoon for me on v2.2 (haven't got round to the 2.3 update yet).

Hmm, try going into the settings>developer options and enabling 'pointer location', then see if both the points are detected. Don't worry if the two points sometimes 'lock together', this is normal for the HD2's outdated screen

As far as I know that's a HD2 problem, yes. You probably have experienced it before, but haven't noticed it because you don't have the visual feedback to show you that it's happening. It doesn't have much of an effect during gaming (surprisingly)
omethek
it is a problem, because any game with a joystick is unplayable.
edit: besides the 'lock together', sometimes when the touch points are close to eachother, they are detected "inversed". is that normal too?
I agree that our device is outdated, but I've never experienced such issues.
I played multitouch games on WP7, Android GB & (Currently) ICS .. Even GTA 3, the movements are precise.
Not sure what you two are facing, but it's definitely not "too-old" related.
The only thing that the HD2 can't do is handling more than two finger points, other than that, everything seems to be fine for me.
There are lockups, but they are rare.

I'm beginning to agree with Marvlesz here, these issues aren't that normal. I've never had the points becoming inversed and I can play games with onscreen 'joysticks' (i.e. GTA3) fine, so I think you might need to take a look at some of those threads with the digitizer issue and check if others are experiencing the same issues.

I've been on the stock kitkat ever since it was released and don't have any issue related to touchscreen. The previous build (.681) did have issues like overheating, camera app freeze / lag etc. but I didn't see anyone here complaining about the touchscreen. Maybe I missed if anyone did, but would you kindly elaborate as to what issues exactly do you have? I would like to test it on mine.
Anyway, after a day's use on the latest .757 build, my Z1 seems to work as it should with no noticeable issues so far. No sound bug, camera app works fine (no issue with the shutter key anymore), no overheating or mediaserver issue. Battery seems to be better than on jellybean for me. Also attached a couple of screenshots below showing no unusual battery drain on standby (which many are complaining) of 7 hrs with 1 hr screen on time (with 85% battery left for use).
Wow, I seriously hope the RAM consumption has been fixed. The Z1 is the worse multitasking phone I've come across in flagships, just too much of RAM usage and not enough to go around to keep enough stuff in memory. Now to wait for [NUT] to release the rooted version for the C902.

yes, the touchscreen issues is rare and the Z1 works at 90% without any problem
I had this touchscreen issue only once. It didnt recognize the input and when it did, they were not accurate. But like I said it only appeared once. The only things that are annoying are the RAM usage and the camera app lag..I hope that they are fixed in this update
If you use 'pattern unlock' or 'swipe keyboard' you will have come across the touchsceen issue.
Works most of the time but there is defo issues there!
