I installed matted blue theme earlier today and shortly after that I had installed the steel blue theme. I found I am having trouble with my gmail force closing and text messages sending and receiving twice. Haven't had any other issues thus far but was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to do.!? Do you think the problem could be that I installed matted blue and then steel blue, would that cause issues like that ? Please help its quite annoying

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling GMail.
Did you have any text messaging widgets prior to flashing a different P-ROM?
I was getting 2 notifications for text messages, and this is how I fixed it:

Might be of help.
I had the exact same problems. GMail wouldn't uninstall, but it was available to install again from the Market. I haven't fixed the dual SMS problem yet, but I bet I have at least gotten rid of the dual SMS notifications thanks to CaelanT. In the case of the Matted Blue Theme this was caused by the inclusion of Text Messaging when I already have Messaging. I saw in the Matted Blue thread that you could freeze it with Titanium Backup. I guess I probably need to go ahead and buy that if I'm going to keep installing P-ROMS and themes.
Ya luckily I had done a back up prior to installing any of these themes.....I started to worry when my phone wouldn't even load into the boot loader. I guess after trying it enough times it finally loaded. I am really glad to hear this issue is fixable though. Thnx again evveryone for the help

I've searched around and can't find anything about this so here it goes. When I send a text message (this happens in both the default messaging app and handcent) the little spinning circle doesn't show up, so I have no idea when/if my message sent. I've looked around in both spare parts and the settings in the app it self and don't see anything about this. Does anyone have any experience with this, or possibly a fix?
Well I found out what the problem was, in case anyone else was wondering. It seems on the newest version of handcent if you're using the black theme the spinning progress circle after you send a text doesn't appear, but it works fine if you use the default white theme.
handcent 3.0 is up install that one has no bugs . this issue happens to 2.1 android not sure if happens to 1.6
I know this problem pops up all the time, but mine is a little bit different. I have had notifications disabled in the stock messaging program since day 1 and never had an issue. Now, 3 days later, the notifications are popping back up in the stock messaging program and I didn't change a thing. I checked back to make sure it was still unchecked and I was right, it still was. I get 2 notifications; one from handcent and one from the stock messaging.
I had this problem back a while ago on my Droid but I forgot what I did to fix it. Hopefully someone can chime in if they remember how to!
Thanks
In the stock messaging go into settings and tick ON notifications and then tick it back OFF and see if that will work.
Nope, still the same problem.
I've tried uninstalling Handcent in the past and reinstalling, it still didn't fix the problem
Remembered how to fix it! It was when I downloaded Beautiful Widgets Pack 2. There's a messaging widget that it installs and it turns notifications on inside the widget. In order to turn it off you have to go to Widgets / Beautiful SMS Widget / Menu / Turn off notifications
Problem Solved, hopefully if someone else has this problem they can learn from it

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. This has been driving me crazy for a month lol. Although I never tried really really hard to fix it. I thought it was weird it kept happening even after I installed a new ROM. But id do a full restore on apps everytime so this made total sense. Thanks again buddy
Hello all,
A long time ago I was messing with the trackball colors on my Nexus One with the Blink application. I uninstalled it, and later had formatted the phone. However, even when formatting the phone, I noticed the custom colors I set via Blink seemed to stay. For example, I colored the Google Voice voicemail notification green and a Facebook notification blue.
How can I make sure that Blink's settings are cleared out? Or, is it possible that Google has updated said apps to make the trackball flash certain colors?
Thanks all.
Mods: Move this as needed. Just noticed. Sorry.
Apps can flash trackball colors. The apps you mentioned are flashing their default colors as they should.
Hey Moto Lovers,
I have across this issue recently, the new email notification icon that comes in the notification bar has now changed its icon. Originally it used to be blue and silver colour. Afterwards the blue became faded and changed to silver, still dark than outside silver and recently a few dacks back it has changed to blue colour background with white colour inside. I am using a stock rom and haven't installed any other apps which should conflict this icon bug. Can anyone come up with a solution except hard reset for which I dont have time to install all stuff that I have already put in. Your inputs to this would be appreciated.
Perhaps you have auto update enable for gmail or email on your market, and if so, a new update may have brought a new notification icon.
If it still works fine, I say - if it ain't broke don't fix it

I feel like I am the only one out there with this issue, but it has happened with a whole slew of SMS apps, and on several different Rom's including stock. What happens is when I get a text message, and i respond to it in the quickly reply or heads up notification the notification does not clear unless I pull back down and either swipe it away or just pull down on the notification shade and put it back up.. I'm sure of this could be the App but not all of it..
Anyone else out there experiencing it? Or is it just some feature that is new and i hate.. ?
Currently I'm on OctOS 7.0 using Genie SMS app. But this has happened on just about every SMS app and several other roms.
FWIW problem resolved in 7.1 at-least on the pixel build with uberstock
