I have 9 full pages, so (9*16) it's 144 and I not counting apps of the day from Amazon that I got but never install. Phone does periodically complains about having low memory space... .

I have 88 apps in total lol

123 currently loaded in app drawer = I do not have the Amazon Freebies in there and have not re-installed my 3 Angry Bird versions

Yeah I have 128 in app drawer. Of course some of those are stock apps but I have deleted about 10 stock apps too. I have easily purchased over $100 in apps and there are about 20 that aren't even installed anymore, but just sit in my Market as purchased.

I have 71 total apps

I think I'm an appaholic. My market history shows 154 downloads, and the Amazon appstore shows another 95 (most just free apps of the day I tried out). The "ALL" catalog on my ADW shows 16 windows of 4 x 4 apps (for 256 installed apps, many of which are system apps).
In my defense, a lot of these are games (most for my kids, but some that I like). I also try out a lot of apps, and those that can be moved to the SD card I just leave on there. I definitely have a lot that I stumbled upon, thought "oh, this would be great to have," and then have never used.

I have 181 apps on my apps drawer. I have some apps on sd card cause o don't have enough room on my phone for them all

Free up memory on desire hd?

Hi guys is there a good app that will free memory up as I was looking at what memory was free earlier and realised it was low at 118mb so alot was being used so I restarted and have 360mb spare. I realise that apps close themselves? So I medal good program to free some memory
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Are you having issues with speed, or are you just looking at your free memory and thinking tha 118MB is low?
Android is clever enough to make sure that it has enough memory to do what it is currently doing, so should you need more than 118MB for an app, something else will get closed down.
There is no point in closing down apps just to get more free memory. By closing apps that aren't ready to be closed you may end up causing more damage than good.
Well I do a bench mark test and get good results when more memory 's free and tbh I don't think it slows down when its got less RAM spare I just thought maybe things should be closed down

Mine sits at around the same figure. Don't worry about it, Android will handle it for you, shutting down apps as it needs to. Doing anything yourself will probably just have an adverse effect.
Ok thanks for feedback

App partition and it is a waste!

Okay so it seems like a wwaste to me since you guys know I probably have the most apps counting at 477 user apps and it seems like a waste that nobody has this many and uses the 2gb I have 500mb left and I could sure use those.
How many apps do you have and space left?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
I have about 60 apps that I restore on a new build... anything above that, I consider wasted finger flicks/time.
I dont dont have that many, but I use about 500mb, so I have alot of app space left, and the number of apps I use gets lower and lower each flash lol
Have between 50 and 60. Don't need anymore than that.
I have 102. Restoring is so fun... :/

No issue at all if you have the paid version of Titanium Backup... best purchase everzzzzz
I have 76 apps (less if I uninstall the ones I don't use), with 1.6GB free. Waste of space indeed.
Just have bank of America and MLB 2011. That's it. Oh, root explorer and xda premium. The rest are system apps that are part of malice. 51 total between market apps and system apps.

RAM on the Nexus S

Hey guys I was checking my phone under the running services because my phone was slowing down. And then I noticed that my total RAM only adds up to about 280mb.. is this normal?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Yes the other 220 is for the os
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
It's for the GPU and the OS
Actually, most of it is for the baseband processor and a little fraction for the kernel.

grab autokiller from the market and set it to optimum. keeps everything real smooth
Don't touch app killer/task manager. Android 2.2.x/2.3.x is perfectly capable of keeping track of the RAM.

I second that, do not use Task Killers. Google themselves and many other well known Android sites say to not use them if your on Froyo or higher.

I fourth that. It makes your battery life drain faster.
Anyone wanna plead the fifth?
Do I count to quote myself as 5th?
I wasn't saying he should use a task killer.
Autokiller is a memory minfree manager app with a unfortunate name. Look it up free in the market.

i use auto memory manager, it keeps the ram level just where i like it.
Oh okay that all makes sense. And sure I'll give that a try. Thanks guys!
reading about the appkiller which kills more battery life... is that the case with the built in app killer in cm7/deck 's rom?
hi
in my nexus it is showing 345 mb. i am getting around 160 mb free
count me as -1 because i do feel the need to force close some apps in order to regain smoothness and speed.
Android memory management might be good but it's not always enough as it feels ok if you only have 40mb or less free ram but the launcher will probably become sluggish and lagging.

GetJar is giving out 100 free apps

GetJar is giving out 100 paid apps for free. Here is the site to get an idea of what they are offering and the getjar.apk.
Side note: GetJar runs as a service in the background, so what I do is find the app I want, download it and either uninstall or "freeze" it to stop the service from running and eating my data/battery [see my guide for more detail on this].
Have fun and happy downloading (and unlike the Market sale, there are actually some utility/productivity apps included).
GetJar is offering over 100 paid Android apps for free! To compete against Google’s 10 Billion App Downloads promotion and Amazon’s “One Paid App for free everyday“, GetJar has come out with its own offering which is better than both the Google’s official Android market and Amazon’s app market.
Usually when offers like this come about the apps are quite crap, this is not the case with GetJar’s deal. Some notable apps which are being offered for free are Paper Camera, TweetCaster Pro, They Need To Be Fed, Splashtop Remote Desktop and more.
All you have to do to access the free apps is download GetJar for your mobile by hitting this url into your mobile phone browser - m.getjar.com/gold
You can check out all the apps available here - GetJar have very nicely laid out all the apps on a side-scrolling type page.

Thanks for this I just got some nice apps for free!! But where did you get all 100? I don't think it shows a 100 on that website or in the app
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Just what I read in the source site. First line says Getjar gives 100 away. Glad you got some good ones.
hmmm Word Up!
Getjar giving away stuff...how novel!
What they do not tell you is that their crappy app runs constantly in the background! Unlike amazon or android market Getjar is a real battery drain!
With our poor vibrants battery life being what it is, I personally would rather keep it "alive" longer for other things than scanning getjars web site for news/files.
If they were to change this detail, then it would be worth revisiting untill then not for me.
Hope this helps!

Nice thing is you can remove it after you get the apps you want and you don't need it to run them.
yeah the app itself runs your battery like water... i dont understand why but i uninstalled it after i saw in 5 minutes my battery decreased 10%
Hence my sidenote in the OP about it running as a background service. I've seen that same drain before on other times I have used it. That is why I usually get what I need and then kick the app to the curb.
Just curious are we able to update these apps through the regular Android market

Usually not. They do get linked to the Market though; so you'll get an update alert. But when you try to update you'll get a message saying you can't because "you didn't pay for the app." A little annoying; but it's true.
Once in a while it does work though. I think I was able to update Paper Camera a while ago.

That's the downside when you get apps from Getjar. But their free apps are really good, even better than Amazon appstore.

I got a few apps the other day and none of them are showing up in my Market. I'm not new to GetJar, I know they aren't going to update, but I've been having problems with my phone and would like to know if this is happening to anyone else.
Been using it for about 6 months now and there have been some real good apps.
try redownloading the apps once an update is shown in Market.
Sometimes it takes them a while but they do update the versions in GetJar.
cheers

How many apps do you have in your Atrix?

I have about 450 apps.
So few that I can list them:
Assistant (don't actually use it for much, but I do get a kick on how the devs coded it to deal with obscenities, at least when I'm really bored)
Angry Birds
APN Backup & Restore
Brightest Flashlight
Drop Box
Fancy Widgets
File Expert
Fing
Lux Free Dash (to correct auto screen brightness)
Mercury Messenger (because microshaft dropped Yahoo compatability)
Speed Test
WOL
XDA
Yahoo Messenger
Those and the Apps that come with MROM and the Google apps.
Other than what comes with the ROM, about 70-75 (can't tell for sure, I moved some to /system/app for convenience).
I absolutely and completely cannot understand having as many as 400+ apps on a phone. Browsing through that many apps would really be no different to me than browsing through the Play store itself. I see no convenience in that, only problems.
I have less than 20 on my phone, that does not include what is standard in the ROM.

Pff..
I have 92 apps
I've got just over 60 and am looking for ways to trim down this number all the time. Just can't even imagine having 400+ apps on my phone
I have, besides the ones that come with the phone, about 30. And just like you guys, if I have more than +100 apps, is not a phone is a frickin tablet or PC, not worth it, for me I my add.:fingers-crossed:
Around 75 or so...and I'm constantly going through and weeding out the ones I don't use.
67 apps!
Amount varies between 80 and 90 constantly installing and weeding out apps
