Mine Doesn't want to update in 3.1 anymore.
Hi !!!
My tablet had some widget issues with 3.1.
So I was advised to revert back to 3.0.1 and update again.
I went to asus frontpage, DLed the 3.0.1 firmware. HRI66.WW_epad-8.2.3.13-20110511
Now The 3.1 update notification dosn't pop up anymore, and i tried many times manual check --> no joy.

I had a system update when I started my A500 this morning. I was sure it was the 3.1 update. The update was done correctly and the tab was shut down. When I powered it up I checked the Android version and I didn’t see anything changed, it is still version 3.0.1. The Kernel version is 2.6.36.3 and the build number is 1.139.05_com_GEN1.
Anyone else had the update and if so, what did it updated?

before this , my a500 is on HC 3.2. because of HC 3.2 doesnt have root access yet , so i downgraded it to 3.0.1 using this and update to 3.1..
and because of that , my media directory can't be played by default music player or any media apps and my pics can't be displayed at gallery. But the media file is still intact in my storage. what happened ?
and it kept showing my "Maps" has stopped unexpectedly , i never used that app ! T.T
Are you still on the unstable 3.0.1 that you downgraded to, or did you flash a new rom? If you're still on 3.0.1 with root, then flash a new custom rom and see if that fixes your issues. If you're still experiencing random force closes, I'd try reflashing the rom. Had to flash mine three times before everything got ironed out.
Still new at this myself, but hope that helps...
Since you downgraded and rooted, I would suggest trying a 3.2 ROM and see if that fixes your problems. Sounds like your ROM is in an unstable state. Also as smhism stated, sometimes you have to try more than once to get everything working. Also make sure you follow all the steps carefully in CWM so that you wipe everything before upgrading and installing new ROMS, otherwise you could experience issues like that one.
i'm on 3.1 (stock rom) rooted 4.010.40_COM_GEN1..
i did upgrade it using unstable updates on the link above..
but i guess i dont want to flash some new roms now , coz i got a lot of other things to take care of..
or maybe it can't be played and detected because of i'm updating using unstable updates ?
I would try to do the downgrade to 3.0.1 again and then upgrade to 3.1 once more and see if anything gets changed. Also, did you root 3.0.1 before updating to 3.1?
OK, I did search for this so...be nice if there is already a thread for this. lol
But, after updating my Iconia to the stock ICS rom, whenever I connect to any type of internet connection (wifi or bluetooth) my tablet reboots. Was wondering if this happened to anyone else and what I can do to fix it. Thanks for the help.
Same reboot issue after ICS upgrade
Hi,
I have just received my OTA update to ICS 4.0.3, and am having the exact same issue; the device is rebooting non-stop; it appears to do so right when trying to connect to wifi.
ACER - What gives? Any solutions? And preferably solutions NOT involving a hard reset.
TB.
Hello.
First of all thanks dzo for an amazing ROM Updating to latest version I faced a couple of problems, with wifi. First i had ran ICS 2.0 or so for a long time since that was working great i didn't see the need to update again, but now checking the thread and seeing there's loads of updates and hotfixes i decided to go for it and update to the latest, 5.0 u20 version. I decided to clean-up first, so i reverted back to 2.3.5 official and re-rooted and installed CWM 5.5.0.4, then ICS aurora 5.0 experimental, booted it up to see it was working ( I got to the startup screen, but couldn't press any buttons as the touchscreen was not working, not sure why but i continued updating hoping it would fix) and then rebooted back to CWM, installed 5.0 update 20.. Everything working fine now, except once i try to connect to my WIFI. I insert the password like I would normally, but instead of getting the "connecting... receiving IP" etc. it doesn't say anything. I can just see my WIFI as available but not able to connect to it.
I didn't want to give up so easily, so I re-did everything, now after 5.0 experimental i installed update 2 to see if some of the hotfixes caused the problem. Yes indeed, with update 2 my touchscreen was working just fine and so was WIFI.
So here I am wondering, what could be the cause for not being able to connect to my WIFI and how would I be able to fix it? Or maybe just settle for one of the earlier hotfixes, but I would prefer to sort this thing out.
Thanks.
Got same thing but with me its on every rom.
I think its because of the GB update I did. Maybe it had an WIFI problem the one that I had
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda premium
Maybe you should just do all wipes again and flash up20 again. If you really want to update, wait for a newer version and try again
Lol... Well i did restore my backup back to 2.3.5 original ROM, then update thru ALL of the updates but no luck.. Then once i was out in shops and found a public WIFI, decided to try to connect, and voilá, it connected... Now back at home i decided to look thru my router settings and switched the mode to 802.11b+g and instantly connected... So i dunno, but now it seems to work.

Had this issue since Dzo changed Aurora's kernel to 3.0.8. I don't know why but after Aurora 3.1 wi-fi can't connect to my network if it's not a b+g or just b. After I understood that the problem is in wi-fi mode on router everything went fine.
Update 21?
Good Day

Somewhere in aurora thread in development section. You must only search.. You'll find it.
Strange, works for me.
Can I use this firmware from asus website to update my phone? It says only for IN/RU SKU but it starts with WW the same with my device.
I live in Philippines and I still don't receive Pie update
Yes u can flash it
i'm enabling adoptable storage and everytime i tried to manually update it ended up error to update. is it really has anything to do or conflict with adoptable storage?
I've downloaded the file from Asus website and uploaded it to root directory on the phone - just in the moment when it was finished uploading, I got message if I want to install the update - smooth and easy.
sure, you can
Pie update has a lot of bugs. I kinda regret doing the manual update.
What bugs did you face ? I am on pie and haven't faced anything significant.
Although the touchscreen does sometime seem to just not work for very short periods.... They apprently patched them in previous updates... (On a side note guys, are the updates cumilative? What if i miss an update inbetween, will the fixes be applied?)
EDIT: Wiping Cache Partition seems to have mitigated the touch issue. Will update if re-occurs!
