HELP! Telus SIM "Not Valid" on AT&T focus - Focus General

Okay, so I screwed around in the phone diag settings and got into the "Test mode" menus and accidentally changed my band settings and now my TELUS SIM card is listed as "Not Valid". I went back and changed my band settings to "Automatic" but nothing works thus far......what do I do to make my Focus work on TELUS again? I'm worried that I fried my SIM card or something.....

Phew......don't know how I did it but my service works again. Nevermind!

MyTouch 3G 1.2 - No Service

I have a MyTouch 3G w/3.5mm headphone jack that I bought from Craigslist. I just use T-Mobile ToGo Prepaid, so I had to get the phone unlocked (got unlock code through T-Mobile for free) and I used my mom's AT&T SIM Card to activate the phone.
After doing that with stock firmware, my T-Mobile SIM card still won't work in the phone. I got zero bars and with a small "X". I thought maybe T-Mobile purposely blocked non data plan SIM cards in their stock ROM, so I rooted and installed Cyanogenmod 6 RC2. Everything went fine with the rooting and upgrade, but I'm still having the same problem with my T-Mobile SIM. It always says "No Service". If I try to dial a number, I get "Mobile network not available." In Settings->Mobile network settings->Network Operators, it shows both AT&T and T-Mobile as available networks. If I touch T-Mobile, I get "Unable to connect to this network at this time. Please try again later". The strange thing, is everything works fine with an AT&T SIM card! I'm at a loss to figure this out. Are these symptoms of a blacklisted IMEI? Or do these symptoms indicate something else?
UPDATE: Talked to T-Mobile chat, IMEI is NOT blocked which is good, but it's still not working.
had the same issue...I used my friend's AT&T sim with data plan to sign-in to google. I had to enter AT&T APN settings and choose AT&T network in the menu.
Everything went well and I put my prepaid togo sim card. Got no service message and no bars. I went then to menu-settings-wireless controls-mobile neworks-network operators. It scanned networks for a minute and found t-mobile which I chose. Right after that it connected to network and I was able to make my first call from prepaid card
Unfortunately, that doesn't work on mine. When I touch T-Mobile, I get "Unable to connect to this network at this time. Please try again later."

are you sure your t-mobile sim card still work fine? i did research quite a bit this issue yesterday and many people confirmed that prepaid card works fine for them. check your network settings again and reset them to default
Yeah, it's the SIM card I use in my iPhone daily. My wife's SIM doesn't work in it either. I've reset everything to defaults, wiped everything, and even installed Cynanogenmod with no luck.

sorry to hear that...maybe you should try to call t-mobile or visit a store
I did talk to T-Mobile, but they only suggested a full wipe (hard reset) which didn't work. I guess it's probably broken, and since I bought it second-hand, not covered under warranty. It's unlocked so I guess I could try to recoup my losses by selling it to someone w/AT&T.

Sprint GS4 unlock problems

Hello all,
Got a GS4 from a friend and told it was unlocked. It is a Sprint GS4 running Cyanogenmod, my friend says he used his AT&T sim card in it and it worked fine. I am on Verizon.
The reason I got this phone is I had a Droid RAZR and the screen got smashed, I replaced the screen and it still would not work. My mother-in-law gave me her old Droid PRO (which uses an older SIM card). After getting it activated the PRO ended up in the water and stopped working, of course, and I've now been without a phone for a week.
To get a new SIM activated on my number I had to use my sister's old GS3 (the screen is busted on it) and get the SIM activated on it so I can pop it into this GS4.
Well I got the GS4 and could not for the life of me get it to work. Put my SIM in, changed the network mode to LTE/CDMA, tried GSM/UMTS, nothing. So I returned it to stock, unlocked it (again?), and now I'm still not getting any service. I don't really get what I could have missed. When I go to Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode I select LTE/CDMA and nothing happens. If I select GSM/UMTS I can get it to search for a Network Operator, but it only comes up with AT&T and T-mobile... wtf?
So any advice on what I need to do to get this thing working would be greatly appreciated.
It also comes up saying that I am domestic roaming all the time... If I try to make a phone call it says "welcome to verizon wireless there was an error in processing your call. Please power off your phone and power it back on. If this problems continues please call #88994."
But sometimes it comes up saying "you account cannot be validated." But when it says that it isn't roaming and I believe that is a Sprint message.

Unregistered SIM problem

But a S5(SM-G900W8) second hand that was described as unlocked on Jan 5. From the kijiji ad looks like they were using Telus. Put my Fido SIM and and off to the races. Except it wouldn't update. Flashed with ODIN to Telus firmware from SAMMOBILE. Still working fine.
Until Jan 14th. It just stopped working. Says unregistered SIM. Tried that sim in a G3 and it works no problem. Tried working SIM from G3 in S5 and no go. Took it to Fido store. No help but they did give a new sim. Can read SIM information using app.
Not blacklisted with Fido/Telus/Bell/Virgin/Koodo. Called them all. All of those providers have no information on phone when searching by IMEI.
There is a Bell TV app on phone so I thought maybe it was originally Bell and went to a store to see if they had any info. No info but girl in store tried her bell sim and it worked. I assumed that somehow in the firmware/software upgrade process it had lost it's unlock and must be back locked to bell. Tried to unlock it from Bell but it fails says IMEI not in database(from internet unlocking service).
Still thinking it might be locked called all providers mentioned above to see if they know anything. Nothing. Sidenote when I put my Fido sim in it just says unregistered SIM. Does not pop up for an unlock code or anything.
Tried a friends Rogers SIM. Unregistered SIM. Drove to Telus store to try a SIM. It worked but no service because it was not tied to an account(but did pull Telus APN's from connecting).
So it appears as though Bell/Telus SIM's work. But Fido/Rogers say unregistered SIM.
Called Fido again and they had me go through all the manual APN setup etc. Then something about sending a new signal to phone from Tower to reset network settings. Didn't work. Fido has no answer for me at all. But yet it did work on Fido for 9ish days.
I'm stumped.
Bueller?
Did you ever fix this issue or find the cause of it?

Someone with a little more experience tell me what I'm doing wrong here please.

This is probably something silly and small but I'm pulling my hair out trying to fix this. I bought a G4 play XT1607 unlocked from Best Buy the other week. I also purchased a tracfone SIM activation kit. The kit had 2 sim cards, one GSM and one CDMA. Since I used Verizon service previous to my foray into prepaid plans, I activated the phone with the CDMA SIM card and registered the IMEI with Tracfone. Then I was able to successfully unlock the bootloader following the motorola official procedures, put on TWRP and flashed a LineageOS ROM w/ SU and OpenGAPPS. It worked fine for a couple of days and then *poof* my internet data would no longer connect at all. I rebooted several times and got nothing.
I then saw that there is some LTE/wifi handoff bug and I figured, no biggie, I'll swap my tracfone service to the GSM SIM and pop it in and it'll be good to go. Not so. At first, in fastboot, the screen was saying <Baseband not found> and I couldn't even place a phone call. The phone still doesn't seem to recognize the SIM card and doesn't show any cellular connectivity. I've tried flashing AOKP, LineageOS (both 7.1) and the stock 6.0.1 deodexed several times. I've tried this thread here and using it's 2.35-1 Radio file with the above ROMs which I installed using TWRP as well. None of this is seeming to work so I called Tracfone and they said it should be working and must be on my end. So following this I decided to go fully to flash fully back to stock. I used this file:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/harpia/official/RETUS/
and followed these directions
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4-play/how-to/guide-return-to-stock-firmware-recovery-t3551797
Phone seems to be working fine other than not getting any kind of cellular signal. Even though it should be "factory fresh now" When I called tracfone they didn't seem to sure of themselves and told me it would activate within 2 hours and to call back if I had issues. It's been 4 hours now an dNo sign of signal. Did I mess something up here? Does tracfone need to do something on their send since this phone/IMEI was used previously on their service as CDMA? Or can I just "pop the new SD card and go" Or do I just need to add something like APN settings or similar to get what I have working? I don't want to call tracfone again if I don't have to because they didn't seem to know what to do when I explained it to them and sounded incredulous that one phone did both CDMA and GSM to begin with.
Can anyone help me? I'd like to use this GSM SIM card in my unlocked XT1607 (RETUS). This phone was previously on the same tracfone account with the same phone number but on their CDMA network. What gives? Is this something I messed up or tracfone needs to deal with?
I did some more research and I'm pretty sure this is on Tracfones end. I believe they still have it registered as a CDMA device and it's ignoring my GSM SIM when I turn it on.

I don't think that's the issue. Did you set an APN for Tracfone? With the GSM SIM, you have to configure the APN.
Tracfone's site says to go to apn.tracfone.com but that site gives an error. I did find this: http://apn-settings.com/tracfone-apn-settings-step-by-step-configuration-guide/
Or you can check on Howardforums or Turks.
Also G4 Play, also Tracfone BYOP. I, however, did GSM from the getgo to avoid something like this. On my phone, when I installed Lineage, my MEID disappeared entirely (it only shows my IMEI in settings). SIM card reads just fine and APN settings are fine. I do think the initial ROM you installed inhibited the device's ability to read its own MEID (everything hints at these ROMs being made specifically for dual-SIM GSM phones). However, switching to the GSM SIM should have worked, provided you actually transferred your number and didn't just pop the other SIM in (the MEID on the Red "BYOP" card would have needed to be decommissioned).
Here's a thought: Try dialing *22890 on the phone. If it says the phone is programmed for CDMA service, then that could be part of the issue. Also check Settings to see if you have both an MEID and IMEI, or just an IMEI. If your IMEI is 0, then the SIM Card is not being read and they need to ship you a new one.

Just to follow up, I did find the correct web page for Tracfone APN: https://www.tracfone.com/apn
Posting for reference. APN is RESELLER/reseller.

My phone is in unlock purgatory

I'm in a really strange position with my S7 Edge. So I've had Sprint service for about 6 months to ensure that I can unlock it with no problems and my phone is paid off in full. I bought a Mintsim phone plan a few weeks ago, since its really cheap and basically the same plan I had with Sprint for 1/4th of the price. I activated my Mintsim sim card and ported my old number from Sprint. I paid off any existing balance on my account and asked them to unlock the phone several times and they said that its finally unlocked domestically and internationally but my Mintsim sim card is still being listed as "Invalid card. Emergency calls only". I've called Mintsim and had them reset things from their side but still no dice. Sprint finally gave me the MSL code but Mintsim is saying they can't do anything from their end. I'm currently on software version G935UUES4BQG1 and I flashed an unlocked ROM a while back and my phone is unrooted. I'm not sure what to do at this point, I'd really appreciate any help and input I can get. Thanks in advance!
So, for future reference for anyone who might be in the same situation as me, I fixed it.
Heres what I did:
1. Flash stock Sprint firmware. This was probably the most crucial part because when I had the unlocked firmware and tried to use my new sim card, I wasn't able to access the "Mobile Networks" option.
2. Insert your new Sim card and go to Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks and set your "Network Mode" to "Automatic".
3. Setup the APN as you see on their website or use T-Mobile's APN (some have better speeds using this).
4. Make sure your "Network operators" says "Mint" under it.
5. Restart your phone and wait a few minutes and you should be all set
Time to flash unlocked firmware again. The bloatware and Sprint logo during reboot, burn my eyes!
