[Q] Stable FPS? - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently installed CM7 night;y #95 and everything is great! The only thing I was wondering if I could improve is the consistency and stability of the frame rate. It seems to go a lot higher then dip slowly down to starting point cyclically. Anything I can do to make it more stable and consistent?

DHD/INSPIRE4G screen frame rate?

something's buggin' me about the htc screen.
it seems like it operates on low frame rate. for example 30FPS instead of 60FPS
like it's not lagging or anything, quite the contrary, i have a MIUI rom and it's freaking fast, but it feels not as smooth as on other devices like let's say, an iPhone 4.
do you get me? or am i crazy?
is there a way to check this kind of thing? any documentation?
is it supposed to run at 60FPS?
I know what you are talking about...and it kinda bugged me at first too. One thing I can tell you for sure is that if you use an alt skin like Safari HD or even Slate...you see that frame rate jump back up and become iphone-ishly smooth again.
Not sure why some skins are smoother than others...but that seems to be the case.
Test it with a GOOD live wallpaper.
Everyapp can define it's max FPS. Some LVW usually do so, to save battery.
MIUI Launcher might also be doing it. BTW, did you enable enhanced graphics ?
I think it may just be the launcher. When you switch to an alt like Launcherpro, ADW or GO, it become much smoother. (Miui icons are still kept, except a few miui widgets are lost such as the folders)
LWPs also lag the launcher alot regardless of how simple they are...
Other than actual fps lag, i dont see any lag with the screen at all...
Miui settings is always kinda laggy, im not too sure how to fix that, but if you don't care about looks, you could get Cyanogenmod - Its still slightly themeable, but doesnt have the miui icon backgrounds
thanks daedric. i disabled enhanced graphics and it runs way smoother now.
but now the colors band a little. well, you can't have it all.
maybe i'll try CM7.
Leedroid v3.2.1 which is GB and sense 2.1, this specific version runs at locked 60fps, also any GB Rom with sense 2.1 will run at 60fps once the smoothness patch is applied (search in the development section) we are still working on locking the sense 3 launcher to 60fps
CM7 should be 60 but depends on the launcher, go launcher and launcher pro are 60fps, go launcher more stable in smoothness, if you want stable and locked 60 with zero bugs you won't find better then Leedroid v3.2.1, members in the leedroid thread will help you find it

Best overall

Anyone like me, waiting for a good GB ROM that is reliable and stable. Do you want fast FPS in games, highly apps compatible, fast fps internet video data stream, smooth launcher and no random reboot or FC. Look no further, I've tried every Roms and the best so far IMO is [ROM] [INTL] [WIP] DSC v0.55b. What do you think?
some of my friends here is used DSC too & have the experience like your
btw, is the ROM is being stable 'cause by the OLLEH ROM or the DSC it self?
because, as the Power ROM there also got the stable too (my other friend's experience)
so, what do you think?
I have been using 2.4.4 and its Been pretty stable. Decided to give DSC a try will let u know my experience with it.

How is the battery life compared to the other roms?
I tried almost every ROM from XDA forum and I think that the differences between all roms are very small ... now, I am trying new ROM from Maxicet and everything seems to be OK, nice interface, fast and stable, no problem with widgets and Go Launcher Ex,camera is working(is not white), videos (mpeg4) is working too, wifi is working too, no random reboots, quadrant score is little bit smaller, around 1250, but HD games from gameloft,ea working wery good, so ... maybe I will stay with this ROM and dont go back to DSC rom ...

[Q] Omnirom on S3 (core2 offline, camera issues )

Hi all,
i've started installing roms on my s3 in the last two weeks because i was fed up with abysmal jelly bean stock performance.
Started making images etc and pretty soon i was testing various roms. Really painless with cwm etc.
I was amazed at how much faster cm11 was and how responsive and smooth everything got. cm11 m6 wasn't as stable though is i would have liked.
I tried omnirom (4.4.2-20140513-i9300-NIGHTLY). I really like the features it has over cm11 and it IS more stable but it seems it isn't that responsive and smooth (still way better than bloated jellybean stock though) but enough of a difference to make it seems it has issues.
I noticed that core2 is always offline apart from when it's frechly booted.
On one side i don't know if it is normal. You can't see the 4 cores in cm11 so i don't know if cm11 does the same thing but i noticed that omni even isn't as smooth in for example games even when it's freshly booted and it says the four cores are running at 1400. True skate and rayman legends both run buttery smooth on cm11 without dropping a single frame at 60fps vsynced. Omni seems to stutter sometimes and and also sometimes looses vsync!!!
The fact that it's more stable and has no bluetooth dropouts as opposed to cm11 m6 makes me stick with omni...but one thing is really annoying me...THE CAMERA!
Om both google camaera, the "stock" omni camera2.apk and the cm11 camera2.apk i installed in omni the video is super slow...maybe 10 or 15 fps. Also the viewfinder really struggles to keep up for probably the exact same reason the video shooting is so bad.
Will there be a fix for that?
Ow...and i don't have multiwindow??? Is that normal.
Thanks all!

[HELP]Frames Fall In Games.

Hello to All And Good Night ..
Recently I updated my LG G2 From Rom Cloudy 2.2 For Simple Rom v1.4
Not the first time most have not actually seen anyone solve this little problem, I'm noticing small falls frames mainly on the basis of some heavy games like Heroes of order chaos that is a quality RPG and that requires a lot of smartphone, the game on the basis that has many effects for example is a decrease of frames and when you put the effects in low level it is perfectly running, that in all roms stocks based on AOSP 5.0 and the games are very bad ... does anyone have any solution of 5.0 based on stock? Because in Cloudy 2.2 runs without any loss of frames.

D852 rom comparaison

Hi, since there are a lot of roms out there, I would like to know how to differentiate all these roms since the vast majority of them are based on cm12... Which rom is the smoothest? Which rom has the higher battery-life? Which one have the more functionalities? Which one compiles buttery-smooth performance, awesome battery life and a lot of USEFUl functionalities? I am currently using lollipop-stock root rom, with x-posed. I love the stock camera-app, but I experience lags, battery isn't as great as on kitkat, still 5.0.1, and random reboots every two-days,....
I've only tried out a few ROMs thus far on my d852.
Cloudy - A bit smoother than the actual stock ROM. Bluetooth audio would skip frequently, battery life was ok.
Dene Bluesmans ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/canadian-d852-stock-bumped-rooted-rom-t3056843) - This ran smoother than Cloudy, and bluetooth audio did not skip. There was a significant amount of 'buzz' present in bluetooth audio though, it may have also been present in Cloudy, but the skipping was bad enough that I didn't notice any other problems.
Cyanogen12 - Swapped over to this 2 night ago. This runs significantly more smoothly than stock, cloudy, or Dene's ROM. Battery life is better than I expected, and seems at least in the same ballpark as stock based ROMs. Camera performance is definitely worse than stock, although I haven't done an indepth comparison of the pictures / videos. No stability problems thus far. For a randomly chosen nightly build this is surprisingly good.
yeah it just works

I use CM12 currently because it is simple and straight forward. I admit I use it as a phone and web surfing device - not much else. I do notice that it really seems snappy and responsive - but I have very few needs.
