I have made a few threads on here about warranty etc. and you do realise that there will be no warranty outside of the US?

Don't forget that on top of warranty, import duty may also be an issue depending on where you are.

Have you tried Handtec, they deliver to Australia. ~AUS$700
sweet. Might pounce on one of these. A few questions first
1. Which site is more reliable? Has anyone ordered thru either?
2. How long does shipping usually take to the United states?
3. It says first units dispatched may 3rd? Does that mean if i place my order today it will ship that day? or will it be on backorder?

i'm from CA and i ordered from handtec. it was the cheapest out of all the sites i found. about 710 us.
Last time i check, about 2 days ago, they still had units left for preorder for shipping on the 3rd of may.
It takes 2-4 days to ship. Saw that on the website.
shipping cost about 14 pounds.
y don't you try this site: http://electroprise.com/samsung-i9100-galaxy-ii-quadband-3g-hsdpa-gps-unlocked-p-2792.html
They are from: http://electroprise.com/contact_us.php
Got this from a post in gsmarena, sorry didn't know its a scam.
Im in CA too. Im just curious as to if there's a bunch of pre order before mine since they've been taking them forever that it wont even ship until later this month or something. Id need it by the 12th. You said yours was$ 710?

Why you asking so late? I can buy it for you and ship to you. How much you willing to pay me? (Email me is fine).
I preorderd from clove but it's possible they ship on may 6 !
I don't want to wait that long, I want to preorder another one from handtec.
It's my first time buying from them so I'm not sure handtec able to ship on may 3.
I can sell you the 2nd sealed s2 to you after I got it.
there's a fairly good discussion about clove and handtec here.. maybe it'll help you decide which to choose.

I've used Expansys a number of times both in the US and UK. They have online stores in numerous countries. They will have devices from the UK available in their US online store which you can buy in USD without paying VAT. They also have online support forums which I've found pretty useful in the past.

Obtaining a North American SE Arc

Anyone know where I can buy a North American version of the Arc that will ship to the USA. I see it available at Best Buy Canada but they won't ship it. No one else, not even Sonystyle seems to carry it. Anyone know where to get one?
Thanks
Check the Japanese arc thread. Lot of us ordered from a Japanese seller on eBay. You have three color options with Japanese model.
To me still Japanese(Docomo) is the best option since you get all the colors unless Sonystyle starts selling them from tomorrow...
color is not a real big deal for me and the Japanese reseller wants over $200 more then what it's being sold for in canada. Any other possibilities?

its not $200 over , how did you get that
Rogers from store price including taxes is $650
so this is without ebay fees or paypal or seller profit or shipping fees
the to get the japanese one with paypal only is $720 and he is shipping from japan.
so you do the math now
Good luck
Best Buy canada is selling for $550 as well as their Sony Style stores.

its 550 CAD + 12% tax = $66 CAD
total = 616 Canadian dollars = 651.3030 US dollars
Forgot about that exchange rate... But there still is paperwork with the FCC to deal with as well as 2 week international shipping wait time. I guess no one has found any place willing to ship it to the states yet. I've tried getting it shipped through rogers, sonystyle, and bestbuy and they all won't do it.

I went though this Seller from Japan.
Ordered on Sunday and received it on Wednesday (Free Shipping)
No FCC, since they already got the paper works.
You choose what is best for you, but we are trying to show you more option. You may better off till someone ship it to you from Rogers or here in the US someone starts selling them.
Good Luck
Edit: This guy on ebay sells them from Canada - Rogers

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm gonna contact the the guy from Canada, maybe we can strike a deal. If not I'll try the guy selling the ones from Japan. I'd rather get it unlocked and ready to go. It it seems unlocking and flashing the Japanese one isn't too bad. I've done some modding to my X2.
Look what showed up today on mobilecityonline for pre-order? Has anyone ordered from them? They have good reviews on Google.

Release in Europe postponed

Amazon.de just announced that Samsung postponed the release date for Galaxy Tab 10.1 until End of July. This is the third postponement in a couple of weeks.
I am really disappointed.
According to Telia in Sweden, the ones who preordered will get them by the end of this week.
Is anyone else getting a bit fed up with the waiting?
I thought it was known that 4th August was the release date, it is in the UK at least.
I thought the rest of Europe would have been the same?

For some reason the Swedish carrier Telia got a head start. They are selling them from tomorrow, 29. June, although I think with all the preorders they have none left in stock.
Here is the press release (in Swedish)

Ah, thats interesting, am I correct in reading that the WiFi + 3G is 5300 Kronor and the WiFi only is 4400 Kronor?
If so, might be worth an import since I wouldn't need to pay customs from Sweden, or would I?

I'm far from an expert on this, but as Scotland is part of EU, as Sweden is, I believe VAT is included? But there can be special rules, like i.e. Swedes can't privately import your whisky They just won't send it to Sweden.
in the end, it's up to the buyer to check which rules apply.

I would think that VAT would be included in the Swedish price.
Would you have any links to any sites where I could look into buying it outright? Ie without a contract?

Buying 10.1 from States - international warranty?

Hi all,
I can get my hands on one in the States - but does anybody know if the 1 year warranty is international?
Thanks,
Keith.
I believe it will be a US warranty.
can you buy an aftermarket warranty? I bought one from squaretrade, that's probably US only, but there must be something for your country.
I bought mine in a US Best Buy and they assured me that the warranty was valid (with them rather than Samsung) in the UK Best Buy stores.
There is no international warranty. I've emailed Samsung and they said that warranty will only apply to country that you purchased it from
I live in the uk and recently brought a 10.1 tab back from the states. I had a problem 3 days in and contacted samsung. The info i got was that they may be able to fix it in the uk but you'd have to pay for it so i ended up sending back to the US. Parts and labour are covered but postage isnt. Cost me £16 to send it and about £30 for them to send it back.
I was recently in the US and I was told by Best Buy USA that if I purchase their warranty/protection it is good internationally. I did not enquirer further or check on a price.
I decided to wait on my purchase until it becomes available in Canada so I can get the warranty.
If GT 10.1 is purchased from Costco USA you have 90 days from purchase date to return it to ANY Costco. That's a possible option.
Sorry to hijack. Useful info on the warranty. Am heading to Vegas next month, would I be able to just walk in to a Best Buy and pick up a SGT - as in stock wise there is no issues over in the US? Would that be the cheapest place to pick one up?

You might want to order online from bestbuy.com for store pick-up (international orders now accepted). This will ensure the item is in the store should you decide to go. Store stock can fluctuate, no guarantees there. Don't forget to order the USB adapter if you think you wil need this feature. It would not hurt to fire off an e-mail to bestbuy to check on their international warranty.
Bestbuy will usually price match, so if you do find an advertised price they will match it. The only sale I have seen is from Staples and they offer an on-line or in-store coupon.

US Warranty
Here is the Samsung US site warranty page (32GB model).
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS AMERICA, INC.
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/warranty/GT-P7510MAVXAB
I could not find anything regarding an intenational warranty.
Hi. I bought a 32gb wifi tab in Vegas 3 weeks ago. Love it but it now has the newtons rings problem. I called Samsung support uk who promptly said my tab wasn't covered under the uk warranty.
Then called the us warranty service centre who said they would fix it but could not give me a service code as I didn't have a us postal address. They then gave me the international warranty telephone number but haven't tried it yet.
Does anyone have any ideas to get a replacement / fix?

That's odd, i called samsung support in the US and they can't put you on their system as it can't handle uk addresses. If they accept it's a problem then ask for a service order number. You will then need to call their warranty provider - a company called intellisol. Quote them the service order number and send it off to them. You cant do anything without the order number from samsung tho.
Samsung singapore is quite still clear that Samsung Singapore does not support international warranty. They specified this several times on their FB page.
Sent an item
Well I have a US tablet and im in UK and just sent it in for repair for the newton rings on the screen.
I am quite sure they will send it back to me unrepaired saying that it is a US device and I should send to the US - but in the meantime I have sent.
The US Support told me I should send there - but it is a lot of money to ship and they need a US address to return the goods whichis a bit of a nightmare.
Will keep people posted to see what happens.
I am from Australia and was on a recent trip to america, I purchased a Gtab 10.1 at Best Buy and they do have international warranties, it cost me 170$ for 2 years though =/

I ordered the I9500 from Negri Electronics. Waiting for shipping. What do you want to know?
Just wanted to know that what is the best place to get them and are they really shipping I9500's rather than unlocked I9505's. I looked up Amazon and Ebay. But the comments on the amazon one's are putting me off. And eBay.. somehow i just don't want to trust for something that worth $800.
Also needed to know a little about the warranty on this. The I9500 would come with a 1 year warranty by default, right?

Yes. Europe doesn't offer I9500, so the only way is to import from USA or other county. And yes, the warranty will be US 1 year warranty
I am willing to pay a little more up front because in the long run, it would be cheaper for me. I checked contract phones, and they are coming up to $120 a month for AT&T (unlimited talk/text + 3GB LTE). I can easily wrap it up in the in $60 by sticking with my AT&T prepaid. Plus i am not speed freak when it comes to internet. Most of the time am at home with Wi-Fi.
My only concern is warranty. Where do i get my issues fixed when i have an international version. I hope Samsung USA would be willing to take it in!
I got mine from Expansys which I can confirm is the 9500. Used them before a few times without any issues and returned a DOA to them a couple years ago without drama which was exchanged for another (same) unit. I'm not too worried about the warranty as a year is all I need and my credit card doubles it anyways. I have never had to use that warranty however so I cant claim to know how it plays out in that regard. I'm pretty sure its not going to be as easy as walking into a local carrier store and dropping the old broken phone on the counter and leaving with a new one.
I brought mine from ebay for 699 USD and posted out to Spain. LIke other buyers here from Europe the local version is the i9505. But the I9500 in my eyes was worth it. (Slightly faster and better battery) HSDPA 42.2 Mbps is fine for me and I dont have LTE where I live.
No issues, well apart from a spec of dust under the screen! I'm just going to put up with it I think, but have contacted Samsung Spain to see if anything can be done. No doubt they will tell me to deal with Samsung USA.
Well the price of Negri electronics are a little more reasonable, than cellhut.com and expansys.com.
