[Q] Where did i go wrong? - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please don't flame me for not searching, but I'm at work now and didn't have time to perform an extended search for my problems.
Ill start by stating I am a new nook color user. Grabbed it this morning after doing a lot of research for the best tablet/e-reader. Ill begin with some of the specs.
Initially was 1.2.0
Performed the rooting with a class 4 8gb SD card.
Flashed the SD card with the recovery system.
Downloaded and moved Google apps, CDM, as well as stock rom in case I failed.
So I read through many different tutorials as well as watched countless videos on rooting and flashing CDM to the NC.
After downloading and getting recovery to show up I performed the formatin steps that followed. However when I tried to format data, it came up as failed this threw up a warning sign so I looked up the error problem. I read I needed to repartition my NC since Barnes and noble's changed it in after may?
Well here's the situation. I tried to flash it back to 1.2 and came up with yet another data error. I then tried the 8-boot format which also did not work. Now comes the strange part. After rebooting my NC enough times It suddenly loaded android 2.3. After android popped up I tried to install Google apps which included market and that failed.
So right now I am stuck with a flashless, and marketless NC. The last time I touched android was on my ATT tilt.
Can anyone explain what I did wrong?

How to be sure Nook Color is back a t stock?

Got a Nook Color, decided it wasn't for me even after hacking and custom romming it up and decided to restore to stock and sell. Here's a brief run down:
Followed a guide to flash stock image with custom recovery. When I was rooting I had a micro sd with CR and I had also installed a version to the NC's internal memory. From the guide I read it looked like flashing the stock image would restore it back to stock for everything. Did this and I got the standard boot screens and the setup screen with the girl and the video. Powered it off, cleaned it up, reboxed and put it up for sale. After I sold it I got a call back from the buyer saying it was hanging on the startup screen for nearly ten minutes. That later devevolved into boot loops. I would have originally held by "all sales final" mentality with craigslist buyers but then he mentioned it would flash a screen for a moment that would say "android" before boot looping again. Figured at this point I should be a guy and take it back, mainly because I HAD told him I did not root it. I got it back and it was boot looping, going through the "touch the future of reading" page and the N logo. Forced 8 failed starts and got an error message saying install could not complete. I fiddled some more (this is all while with friends at a Best buy mind you) and managed to get it to boot to screen, register my b&n account, and do a factory reset. After this it operated and ran perfectly fine, and after multiple factory resets, resetup runs, and trouble testing to force issues, it yielded perfect functionality. I even tested to make sure it would accept a credit card and that worked fine.
I'm gearing up to sell it to another buyer but I want to make sure I have my ducks in a row. I haven't fiddled with it beyond what I did the night I took it back but all testing I've done today has been fine. With B&N rolling out a froyo update though I want to be sure the unit is fine and won't give the other guy any trouble. There is no super user login or anything else that would suggest it's rooted or running anything other than stock firmware. I'm thinking that not letting it factory reset after flashing a stock rom may have contributed to my first bout of issues. Is there anything else I can check or look at to make sure the NC is good to go though?
EDIT:
Just performed a successful factory reset with deliberate 8 failed boots. Worked like a charm. Think I'm golden less otherwise advised.
Sent you a PM.

[Q] Tried to update to cm10, couldn't boot, tried to restore to mnooter or cm7, help?

Hi all. I used to mess with my Nook Color a lot around a year and a half ago but recently was just using it to read and occasionally browse. I'm 99% sure I was working with just a nook which was used with manual nooter, so that I had the Google Play store and Zeam launcher with stock B&N as well. I was having issues with things "not being able to update" so I tried to mess around, only realizing too late that I wasn't really interested in cm10 and wanted to stick with zeam. Since then I've been trying to get back to how I started but I'm failing miserably. I've so far tried wiping/factory resetting my device. Installing cm7 from zip, resetting everything using the guide here and installing 1-4-1 cam oc zip from here and still I fail. I can get into the set up screen, but when the device will not find any wifi signal and then freeze without allowing me to type it in under "other". Honestly I'm not sure what else to do now. I just want my nooted device back -__-.
Please let me know if I can submit any more information that can help solve this problem. Thank you for your time.
I'm literally infinitely stuck staring at this screen.
Managed to fix everything. Used section A15. Enjoy anyone who ran into similar trouble.

[Q] Nook: NST Glow unable to root

I just bought a Nook ST Glow. I just tried the nooter and the nookmanager.
I'm positive I followed the directions to the Tee. I even bough a second card reader in case that was an issue.
I booted the imaged msd card containing the nookmanager image. I booted into it correctly, then rooted it.. first time through the uramdisk failed .. so i did a factory install .. then tried it again.
this time everything worked fine as the root script ran. exit. removed the sd card. then i get the regular nook boot sequence as if its a new factory boot.
i did this several times and get the same issue. this is a firmware 1.2.1. i just don't get it.
i was so excited and bought this eink because the battery life is 2 weeks plus. i'd like to be able to check email and read news and possibly other bookstores.
can someone please help me? is this hopelessly strange?
yes, i did use winimage.. i'm sure the image appears fine.. because it boots just fine into nookmanager. did b&n include new protection mechanisms to make it unable to unlock.. i'm completely stumped.
please please!!

[Q] Apps can't write to SD card after using CM and then going back to recovery.

I've been trying to fix this issue for about 4 hours now, so this is my last resort.
A while ago I rooted and installed CM on my phone since my galaxy s4 was bought from dubai so it didn't receive the regular android updates (it's still 4.3). I used CM for a while but realised that my phone was overheating a lot and battery life was a lot worse. So I decided to go back to my recovery.
After going back to my recovery everything worked fine but apps can no longer save to SD card, I can't recieve pictures, download podcasts or use anything that requires SD card.
I'm not very familiar with android coding but I tried using ADB and I just got confused, I also checked permissions in platform.xml and I've tried that solution and it still doesn't work. I've tied unmounting and mounting the sdcard I've tried formatting it in the phone itself and formatting it via recovery. I have no idea what else to do.
It's standard in the later version of Android. So it has nothing to do with CM or custom roms.
Google for "i9505 write sd kitkat' and you find plenty of guides how to solve it.
Why didn't you just download the latest version of CM and use that?

Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 Install ROM loading issues. Help please

G'day all,
Hoping someone can help. (firstly I've searched on here over and over and some things have really helped, but can't find this issues on here)
Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 (originally with Vodafone rom)
Back story, I managed to put google rom via WINTEAM at some point in time (I don't recall how I did this now) this file - crdroid-6.0.0-20151208-jfltexx.zip (I still have this but not a md5 file)
Anyway, I wiped it under settings and basically stuffed it right up. Loops on WINTEAM (this part I had found in search and downloaded Odin3 v3.13) and Samsung Rom and a couple of others.
I9505XXUHOJ3_I9505VAUHOJ1_I9505XXUHOJ3_HOME.tar.md5
I9505XXUHQK1_I9505MAXHQK1_I9505XXUHQK1_HOME.tar.md5
I9505XXUHOL3_I9505TELHOL2_I9505XXUHOL3_HOME.tar.md5
CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5
The last one actually fixed up the google install but was hoping to place the original Samsung ROM back on and now it doesn't help at all when I run again.
The top 3 are Vodafone, Telstra and Max a forum had suggested (from a page on here somewhere). All of these say pass in Odin3 when installing onto phone. But once it gets to the Samsung with what looks like dots shooting out from the word it never gets past this at all.
When I power up the S4 phone, to get to download screen. I have volume up to download or volume down to restart phone. Some places I've read say to select wipe, I don' t have this option at all.
I saw an option to install s8 rom to s4 which I would like to do, but the how to do that requires working software first and install TWRN or something like that.
I'm not sure if this will run fast or ok on this phone, but it isn't a MD5 file either.
I would like Samsung ROM back on as it (for me cleaner than google or maybe just what I've been used to). I'd like to give to my youngest child as their first phone.
I also had tried to place zip files and also unzipped files on the SD card on the phone, nothing worked for me as it looks like it is expected ODIN3 to work.
At this stage of the day, I would just like to have it functioning again with anything that works.
Any advice on what to do now would be greatly appreciated, also I'm truly sorry if this problem has been documented, I really did try to do my research first before putting this up here. I've been on this for weeks now
So quick update. through more research, I have managed to install TWRP and now have access to additional utilities through WINTEAM. I've now tried to install ROM through the Micro SD card.
I think it comes up with a mount error, but has rebooted and still stuck so can confirm just yet.
I've managed to go through the entire process of installing the PurifieD+ROM+v3.5.zip through the micro SD card in the phone. Asked me about all the options etc during the install. There didn't appear to be any errors at all. Asked to reboot. etc....
I even had sound on the bootup, Now I have the Samsung word on the main screen with a blue backlight just flashing. Been like that for nearly 10 minutes. Not looking good.
Have I got bad memory or am I doing something wrong?
I managed to do a wipe after I did an install and it booted up find. I had no WiFi but than installed the vodafone install that should be the original and all works now.
The amount of time I had been working on this, I really didn't think I was going to get it going. I honestly thought I had some hardware error going on.
In the end it runs now, I can setup and had to my child
so I've managed to now use several different ROMs but now I can't root the phone (it should be able to, has been before)
When I run Motochopper I get this error
error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported.
Seems to happen no matter what rom I've installed. I can't seem to find an older rom running android version 5.01 now
Any help on how to root this. Would be great
Now says it has been rooted, but I do not get the teamwin boot menu option at all. more like just a text style menu for wiping and loading other roms.
