Is there any way to put NC 1.2 on an sd card so that I could put Phiremod 6.3 on internal?
The one thing regarding 1.2 I don't want to lose is my in store reading capability or I would simply dump it altogether!
Thanks in advance.

Or you could always put Phiremod on the sd card, if you have a big/fast enough card...
Mission accomplished!
Thanks...Pherimod was already on an sd card and now I can move it to internal as I make far more use of it than stock 1.2.

I would imagine this is a fairly common question, but I can't seem any threads about it, and the forum search isn't working for me.
I have Liberated Froyo on my Aria.
It currently has the 2gb SD card from AT&T, and I want to swap it with a 16gb I have.
There are some apps installed on the SD card.
I was wondering if anyone knew what I have to do to switch the cards while still keeping all of my apps/settings/files intact.
Thanks.

Copy the of old sd card to your computer. Then format your new sd card and paste the contents of your old card to your new one.
I would imagine you should move move your apps back to the phone, but I'm not sure if that's necessary.
But those steps will ensure you don't lose anything.

Alright thanks.
I had seen something about having to do different partitions with different file systems if there were apps installed on the SD card.
The current card is formatted in FAT, so just use that?

Hi - need some help! I have a nook color, and flashed the CM7 (7.0.2) to SD card, using verygreen's instructions. All instalation went OK in NC, but when i put the SD back in the PC to copy the GApps, the PC pops a message saying that I have to format the card to make it usable. Any ideas on how to avoid this, or am i missing something?
u need to partion ext7 of ur sd card...try it through CW....then dl gapps
Hi Kitila thanks for your reply. Could you pls provide some more detail on how to do it? I'm a bit new in all this and am afraid i might mess something up. Thanks!
CM7 on SD Card (Nook Color) - PC asks to format card for GApps
Hi,
I am having this exact same problem. I have tried to search for an answer, but only found this thread. Unfortunately, as a noob, I am also having trouble understanding what the one reply means.
The issue: I am able to put the CM7 on my 16GB sandisk microsd card. I am able to put the nightly on the microsd card. I then can get CM7 to load nicely on my Nook Color. However, when I then remove the sd card from the Nook Color and put it back in the computer in order to install GApps, I get a message telling me that I need to format the SD card. As I understand it, formatting the SD card will erase the CM7.
Can anyone walk me through (or point to a walk though of) a fix for this problem.
Thank you in advance. This is such a valuable resource.
Dan
Try using a USB card reader.
Cheers,
kev

Use of English would be nice!
Thanks much, Kev. Do you think that's it? Weird. I'll need to pick up a USB reader tomorrow. I'll report back.
Thanks!
Dan
Kev,
That worked. Thanks so much!
For those in the future that are having problems with their computer wanting to format the microsd card every time it is inserted, try using a usb microsd card reader instead of the slot in the computer.
Thanks!
Dan
just swapped out an iPad for a rooted nook color...ive rooted and played with a dozen or so android phones so im not a total noob but no where near a dev either. i want to put cyanogenmod on it but before i do anything i just want to see where the current rom (phiremod nook 6.3) is running from, internal memory or sd card. what is a simple way to check?
Pop out the SD card and boot it up.

Okay.
So I searched and searched, and did not see anything with similar phrasing, though, I'd assumed this had been asked before.
I have my Nook Color, running CM7 off an 8GB card.
I purchased a 32GB Card and dumped everything on it and proceeded to put it into the Nook, and try and load it up.
Guess what, it didn't work.
Is there any reason why this didn't work? Does it have to be on a 8GB card only because that's what CM7 was made to work off of?
If not, could anyone provide me with information in regards to getting the Nook to boot off a larger card?
THANKS!

The problem is that you cannot just copy stuff from one card to another using ordinary tools and expect it to boot. There are methods that allow you to clone from one to another, but it must be done with imaging software.
Get win32diskimager free from the web. Start that and choose the drive that has your SD in it and in the image box pick a location on your hard drive and give it a name to save the image to. Then click 'read'. It will read the card and create an 8GB image file where you told it to. When it has finished, eject the 8GB card and insert the 32Gb card. Select write and it will burn a clone of the 8Gb card to your 32GB card. Then get the free Mini-Tool Partition Manager software and expand partition 4 to fill the rest of the drive. You are done.
If you want to learn a little more about bootable SD cards, look at my tips thread in my signature.
Under storage settings.
Shows me SD Card total space 116MB Available space 12.52MB. My SD card was a 32 gig class 10.
Internal storage 4.9GB
Available space 4.33GB
Also C7 will boot without memory card in it. My cousin helped me root it and we used the SD card to root it. According to him I should be able to take the SD card out and boot into the normal NOOK settings. This correct?
I am getting errors when I try to install things to SD. Tells me there is not enough room.
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense still very new to this.
Thanks for the help.
First, go to Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Application> and make sure Use internal storage is unchecked.
Then go to Setting>Storage and let us know about SD card, Internal and Additional storage values.

Sounds like you installed CM7 to the internal memory, not to an external SD card. that's probably why you are seeing the space available on internal memory, but not the SD card. There is Verygreens's method to install CM7 and CM9 to the external card, leaving the stock Nook ROM in place, but it doesn't sound like you used it. To get answers to most of your questions, go to Leapinlar's great information page here:

Specifics relating to installing CyanogenMod on an SD card are in the second post.

Yes, I agree. It sounds like his friend set it up to install to SD by burning the image to the card, but somehow flashed the rom to internal memory instead. That would explain the 5GB internal space and 116Mb SD card space.
He needs to reformat the SD card to get the full size of the card available.

Well sounds like the stock nook interface is gone then. No big deal. Do I just reformat the SD card through the settings in android? The option states Erase SD Card. Would that be what I want to do?
Also not sure if this is related. But sometimes C7 wont boot when I have the SD card in. Take the SD card out and it boots just fine.
Well I grew a pair and did the Erase SD Card. Now it is showing 29.66GB.

LOL. Good job. Yes, stock Nook is gone. I can help you get it back if you want it, but most never miss it. The only reason people want it is for warranty or if they want to have kids books work.
Random side question but figured since I have ya here.
Any idea on a good note taking app for android? As in for school notes like during class?

Don't use it much for that, but Googling yields this:
