WM6 Rom Download from HTC site

I know that you can get the HTC download original of the new WM6 for the Athena/Ameo/Advantage. I tried to but it keeps asking me for my IEMI number. I put it in and it saids go to your network provider!! The [email protected]@ts at T-Mobile are not going to do this upgrade as they feel the money provided would be for better use on new projects. I want to get the new version but not a made up one even though i have tried the ones on here and they work very well. But i would like a copy of the all singing all dancing version if someone has this???
Death to T-Mobile!!!!!!!!
pardon me!

the new HTC website for asia is
http://www.asia.htc.com/asia/index.html
and you should be able to download the WM6 SEA version from Dopod with this link
http://210.64.124.194/download/U1000_SEA_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070727.zip
but if you're interested on the other asian versions, you may want to search the forum, some users had posted the other links
Hi, will this work on unlocked T-Mobile Ameo? Super CID?

Ooh err Missus!
The problem with search is that you have to be quite precise to get the results. I did actually use the search facility, but can you describe to me exactly what to search for in this case?
And what exactly do you mean when you say "All your questions are answered many times before?"
Seems to me like you should stay off help forums if you don't want to give help.

:s I had all the same questions, took some time to read and voila there were my answers... Lazy people like you clutter up forums like this so it's harder to find posts with "real" content...
And yes I want to give help to anyone but not if the answers are even mentioned in sticky posts..
Another thing, if you have problems to find answers to such simple questions why are you even going to flash your device?? What if it goes wrong?
(I don't want to bash you or anything like that, but in my opinion there are to many people posting questions without RTFF)

Was there a leaked update on the HD2 on 8/28 or 8/29 that I missed????

I have heard rumors, but nothing substantiated....and a search is turning up nothing.....

I keep an eye out for that kind of thing, and I have heard/seen nothing about that. Although, I do believe there were a number of new Android builds for the HD2 that came out right about then, are you sure it wasn't one of those that you heard about?

I read about it on the T-mobile forums. The person in question also stated that it was up on this website, but now the thread and all links have been removed/deleted.
Conspiracy?!?
Or BS???

Yeah if they pulled the thread and the links, I'd assume that someone called bs on it and they did what we would do here, and just trashed it. It's possible to that it was in reference to the release of some specific ROM (or ROM build) on that date, but my guess is that it was just someone trying to stir up trouble...you'd be surprised how often people actually do that in this type of environment

Yeah, they quoted that the links were directly from HTC....not uploaded to this site or some other site. I'd post the link, but I'm not sure if that is kosher on this site (or the other).

I just looked over HTC's official support pages for the HD2, and I don't seen any new updates of any type, not that recently anyway. If you have the link you can PM it to me and I'll check it out real quick and see if it's 1) valid, and 2) ok to post here.

K thanks Jimmy, I looked over the thread you sent from t-mobile's forums, and there's no problem posting the link here as far as I know (I'll post it below myself, just in case). But after reading it all I also couldn't find anything more substantial than just what that one member was reporting...which was just mostly that he'd seen "something" on HTC's site related to an update, that was supposedly later pulled down.
I'll note too that any updates for the US T-Mobile version of the HD2 wouldn't come from HTC's site anyway, they're only ever released (officially) through the T-Mobile support page for the phone. So, it's quite possible that even if there IS an update about to be released, it might only be for the euro version of the phone...and since official ROM updates always include a radio, it would likely be incompatible with the US model (i.e. it would brick any one that it was flashed to).
Here's the T-Mobile thread it was mentioned in:

Posts like yours are pointless. They're posting in a help/QA thread, least you could do is point them in the right direction...
Here ya go OP, have a look below.

And for you my friend, this is the exact reason for the multiple messages about the same thing, cluttering up these forums, quit babying these new users and help to encourage searching the threads.
The Ax says, thanks for your help. And good day.

Please go back and read the forum rules.
When searching for answers and reading information (especially ones that are as easy to find as the OP's), people gain invaluable information about their issue and device in General. It IS part of the XDA rules to do so for a reason. People should know how to use the search function and be willing to read / research some BEFORE posting in the Q & A section. Q & A is not a substitute for doing so. And, pointing people in the correct direction (giving successful search terms or correct sub forums) allows people to find a lot more information than giving them a short half-answer that is no substitute for the many threads full of information that already exists. Linking people to all-in-one threads or hard to find obscure information is different, but all other cases should use search and read tactics first.

The problem is then do we have 18 or more threads for 4.2.2 update for all the different CID's available ? What's so special about the HTC_044 that requires it's own thread other than you owning one and want news on the update ASAP too ?

Hmm.. it's for those with HTC_044 much more easy to narrow their search and discussion rather than going through every threads?

But using that as justification - then we could end up with dozens of threads for the varying CID's and carriers models simply because people don't want to go looking.
Why not simply use the 'SEARCH THIS THREAD' feature of the existing 4.2.2 thread for HTC_044 and as soon as anyone posts they have recieved it - you will know

That's because no-one has yet mentioned looking for HTC_044 in that thread. If you post in it, then there will be a base start. Then as soon as someone with HTC_044 reports they have got it in that thread - it will show those results.
So frustrated waiting for updated. HTC_044

Actually there are someone already mention HTC_044, including me. That's why i did a test search, but return error result.
Since there's a lot of talking says that update for Asia region will roll out this week, I'd say we be more patient, better wait a bit more, atleast until the end of the week. My expectation we might get the update this friday or saturday. Hopefully.

Hi mates, I fail to see the need for new threads for each individual new CID when there is already a nice thread here.
Rather than start new content, lets work to improve the content already available. Otherwise, individual threads will only further the clutter :good:
I'll be closing this thread now.
Good day

gotta say YOU are part of the reason XDA is the way it is now ... instead of just getting your 15 sec of fame or whatever with your stupid answer ... why say anything that is NOT helpful? are you that pathetic you just had to be the first to reply? are your parents not paying enough attention to you? I just don't get it ... very effing frustrating ...
as for your request try searching all the threads and use a keyword to assist the search

We have ALL been where he is now, however a vast majority of us decided to use that good old google to answer, umm pretty much every question he asked. Are we just supposed to google everything for him/her? Maybe even create a summarized audio book for them. I have 0 problem helping someone find the answer to a difficult or obscure question, but ffs. But great way to be toxic, real asset to the community.

Why? Did he ask to be sppon fed? He mentioned coming back to android and might be out of the loop ... correct? Just go away i have wasted precious 10 minutes of my life on you.

For official malaysian firmwares go here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G950FD/XME/
You can find firmwares also on other sites, for example updato.com
FD is almost identical to F, software and guides are the same for both. Do not use U or W guides, as they are different phones!
