I'm wanting it for my sidekick, the clock it comes with is.... less than good. Someone on the sidekick forum told me to ask for the apk of the Epic's clock, since the two phones have had similar compatibilities and the nexus s version wouldn't run.. So if anyone could upload it here or email to falkner11 at gmail.com, I would appreciate it.
The stock calendar would also be great too, but I really need the clock.
We have a samsung modified clock. I'll try and find the aosp one for you.

I just watched a video on you tube of the Motorola Droid X. each widget you can long press and then resize the widget too any size on the screen and it automatically adjust. any chance of anyone working on this for our EVO's? I would be the first to donate. Here is the link. Starts at 2:27 into it.

Proprietary code
I'm no expert, but if Motorola made their widgets the same way HTC made their's, then the widgets are tied to the launcher and their won't really be any way to extract them. Obviously someone could program something similar, the same way many HTC widgets have been replicated, but a true port of the software is probably impossible. Keep in mind these guys encrypted the bootloader on the device, so I don't think they are too keen on our Android hacking community to begin with, so extracting those widgets is probably impossible without Moto/Ninja-blur.
Thats definitely a cool feature for ADW Launcher to aim for.
i didnt exactly think they could steal that exact one but someone could make a similar option. Actually i was looking at some of cyanogens work and in one of his roms, he does have a resizer built in, not exactly as smooth as the droidx but would still be awesome to see on the EVO. And word is that he is building a rom for the evo now. He does some excellent work and i cant wait to see what he dreams up for the Evo.
Ok so I would like to get a vibrant soon but there are a few things that bother me that I would like to get resolved.
#1 how are the custom ROMS? Can i use Galaxy S and Captivate ROMS or is it specific to the vibrant only?
#2 I really dont like the UI they put on there. I like the stock android OR sense UI. I know sense will probably never make it to the vibrant but how about the stock android? Are there any ROMS right now that offer that? I know how to theme but that would be a lot of changing.
#3 development... I feel like since the Galaxy S will be across the world and many carriers development would be fairly good right? How is it now? What do you think it will be like in the future?
Hey NC!

There are no ROMs right now. CM6 has two developers working on porting to the Galaxy though.

Use ADW or LauncherPro (amazing on this phone)

It will eventually be very good. With the volume sold and ability of this phone, it will eventually have great development. Right now, a lot of developers, especially on here are used to HTC and getting used to Samsung and the differences.
You have to remember, This phone Just came out and the other 2 still haven't.
Plus, this is not an HTC phone.
That being said, development is going strong.
Expect the Flood gates to open soon.
FYI: I use both ADW launcher and Launcher Pro (bothe give me the the stock android experience you seek.
i think the custom roms will start flowing.
about touchwiz, I thought that would be the first thing i removed, but i have actually liked some things about it, but like has already been mentioned, use ADW or whatever launcher you prefer.
I think development witll really start to take off in time.
Thanks for the quick replies. Great answers
I use:
Touch Calendar
ADW launcher
aContacts
stock News & Weather
Klaxon
cubed.
That pretty much gets me around the Yucky TouchFlow. I also rooted and installed Root Explorer to get rid of the bloatware easily.
I was really hesitant, and except for having to tap ever so accurately when correcting text because there's no dpad (I've put a request in to a dev that I like for a soft dpad), I'm very happy.
If you get too much lag because of the slow storage memory, there's a hack for that. I haven't use it yet.
Just took a chance and bought it. Loving the phone but just as I expected, touchwiz is quite annoying. Cant wait to see a 2.2 cyannogen rom
Can we have live wallpaper? All my friends are getting new HTCs and they have nice live wallpapers, I love my tilt 2 and don't wanna purchase a new HTC just for that cool feature which I love.

Well... in Windows Mobile, I don't believe you can. But you can in android. Hop on over to the android development section for the rhodium. It isn't suggested to run live wallpapers even in android though. They make the battery life far worse and they don't run that well on our devices.
hey man, if your into all that... just get an android.
a person like you will like this phone less and less the more you see all the other gimmicky garbage the newer phones do.
There are live map wallpapers if you are into that. You will need data or wifi though

I found the following link pretty interesting.. It looks like we've had some sort of wallpaper animation all along. I just checked in my window folder and I have all manila files used to make it work(default of course). Not sure if it'll work with cht. If you give it a try let us know how it works out. Here's the link.. My animated backgrounds for sense 2.5(31-3-2010)
On my Sprint TP2 i've got "Animated Wallpapers", they have a bubble fly across the screen or something similar every now and then. Even though they are not "live" wallpapers, and are very basic it creates tons of lag when switching to the home tab.
To the Vision ROMS Mods,
would you kindly make us a CM7 Sense ROM? A CM7 ROM with or able to take HTC Sense Widgtes?
It is hard, yes, and our mods are hardworking. It is impossible, no, there is no such a thing as impossible when it comes to technology on XDA-Developers.
Hoping and waiting and believing!
This ... would be epic.
It's not impossible, but it's not worth the effort. The Sense widgets require the Sense framework which is closed source. In order to merge the two, you would need to reverse-engineer the Sense framework which is near impossible. So, no, it's not gonna happen.
This has been talked about countless times for years.. if it was possible it would of been achieved by now..
just saying..
on that note, I'd be impressed if I were to log into XDA one and see it a hybred Cm7/Sense ROM
This would be like the yankees and red sox merging to form one entity.
i think every one would love that, it would be great but who knows maybe soon they will, i mean they have sense-ish with vanilla so maybe
If only such a thing was possible... a Sense/CM7 hybrid would be the best ROM ever, hands down
Shame it isn't though, as someone already mentioned, it would involve reverse-engineering Sense since it's closed source, and CM is strictly AOSP
its a extremely difficult task that may not even have a nice reward at the end. Look at how pissed HTC got with the Beautiful widgets looking too much like theirs. My guess is that if a dev did in fact pull this off, it'd be shutdown before most of us could enjoy it...
I actually prefer having to choose between one and the other, since they are so distinct in style. I think some of the "conveniences" of Sense could easily be easily be written into AOSP roms, but in terms of aesthetics and style - I like them being separate.
If a "blend" is what you want, then you should probably give UD a spin, but I'm pretty sure that will fall short of what you seek.
This belongs in the general section. Android has been out since 2008, you don't think someone has already thought about wanting this? And 3 years later it hasn't been accomplished yet? It should already be obvious its not done yet because it's damn near impossible. But hey its not bad to ask for something. Only thing i think would ever be close to this is someone making a stock launcher with beautiful widgets incorperated into it or something hellishly close to
Sense widgets. But besides that, please don't ever, EVER, count on it.

do it with Sense 3.0 and ill donate a ton, and run around my neighborhood naked! lol
Makes me wonder, what ever happened to sillian?
I've never been a fan of sense, CM is great how it is.

actually the senseginger 3.0 rom is almost that, you can disable htc lockscreen in lieu of vanilla lockscreen, it has the nice gingerbread on/off screen animations, I use launcher pro plus with it and everything seems pretty damn snappy... the launcher pro plus widgets are practically direct copies of the htc widgets, and I get to have a 5x5 homescreen... I'm sure once the source drops for the htc gingerbread vision kernel I'll get stellar quadrant scores as I do on virtuous 1.0.2 (2500+ @ 1402Mhz)
no way...if you want sense, use a sense rom.
Sense is teh suck
Hi everybody,
one week ago I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S4.
It is a great mobil phone, but I really miss HTC Sense from my HTC One X+
So my question is:
Is there anywhere a "rom" or an other possibility to get HTC Sense on the S4??
Thx for your help.
tobi
Some people might be able to port it but they won't, infact lets say the most easy port will be for the I9505 only since the Exynos octa is too complicated and needs different librarys and files.... and another thing is that eventually when it ports your GS4 features won't work anymore since the Sense wizard doesnt support them which makes the GS4 useless it used to matter on old Cells when the hardware and software were almost identical and only the appearance changes but nowadays its a badass mutation that these pieces of Tech are going through
maybe someone will give you a launcher but not the whole Sense Wiz

You'll never have sense 4/5 on Samsung device many reasons for that lemme give you a few.
1. It would take forever to try and port it ( while the port would have sh1t load of buggs )
2. Pretty much requires the whole system cuz of framework.
3. Different drivers ( tho would be easier to port it on snapdragon s4)
4. HTC is never gonna give their codes since then everyone would have blink feed, HTC gallery etc, Zoe, you name it. Same with Samsung, everyone would have multiwindow etc what doesn't require hardware.
The only way you can have some type of sense would be getting launcher and downing icon packs.
Best would be flashing cm /aokp / aosp.
Getting icon pack for the launcher and downloading sense theme for cm
As for widgets there are bunch of them on the market or you could download uccw and make yourself some.
Anyway whatever you do it'll never be good as original. You'll always miss key features.

Edit:
On the other hand if you don't like the touch wiz you can pretty much have full Xperia system
Widgets, walkman, bravia, gallery, etc, you name it. Just look at xda or use search button.
