[Q] connect acer 2 mac

Hi,
I'd like your help in order to connect my acer iconia tab with macbook pro, because it hasn't been dedected external disc.
can you help me?
I' ve seen that for windows, exists usb_acer_1.06.1500.A30H_A driver.
sorry for my bad english ^^
Sadly it does not work. It appears USB-connection is done by MTP (media transfer protocol) which works with Windows but not with Mac.
See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13512495
thank u

The Iconia connects with Macs using either Android File Transfer or XNJB. You'll have to google since i can't post links. Android File Transfer has a bug or maybe it's honeycomb where when you add a microsd card or connect the USB to an ext HD, AFT crashes. And the only way to fix it is to factory reset your Iconia.
That was really a great help

android file transfer only works with the internal sd-card. does not work with microSD.
i uses "wifi file explorer pro". works beautifully and i can upload files directly to my microSD.

[Q] Need Screenshot of External Storage devices.

Hey guys, I'm working on an app for showing storage usage and currently have it running on the XOOM, it is now under heavy redevelopment and I would like to be able to get it on the Iconia too (curently working on Transformer support), all I need from someone is a screenshot of the folder structure of all external storage devices your device has connected.
For example, on the Transformer, I was given a screenshot of te structure inside the /Removable directory when all 4 external devices are connected I see 4 folders with different names.
I would also appreciate if you could just check that any of the directories in there are gone once the device is removed (or if they stay permenantly).
Thanks guys, and I hope the Iconia is looking after you all.
Here you go. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-...AEI/2jE9yPMB6Ac/s800/screen_20110615_1310.png
The folders remain even when we remove the device.
sdcard is Internal Storage (with a dumb name)
extrenal_sd is the External SD card
usb_storage is the USB device
Edit:
This picture is with the USB plugged in and SD removed.

Thanks, can you check if theyre linked anywhere like /data/media for example please? There must be another location where they do appear and disappear from as they are connected/removed.
Thanks again.
/data/media points to Internal Storage I'll check to see if I can find another location for USB

Is it plugged in? It's expected not to be there if it isnt. If it is and still nothing, thanks anyway, appreciate you looking.
I have plugged and checked with my SD card and with my USB drive. None of them are listed anywhere else (at least I haven't seen them).
Thanks for trying to give us this for our tabs.
I've looked as well. Tried Root Explorer, Honeycomb File Explorer, And ES File Explorer. SD and USB cards in as well as out.
I can't find anything more than what bpivk has reported.
HI.. do your app work on asus transformer prt rom in iconia ?

microSD card - problem of writing to

Hello!
I have a problem to write data to external microSD card mounted to my Tab 7.7. I cannot copy/move files, create folders, etc. there when doing this using the Tab. At the same time I can do all of this from my PC when the Tab is connected to it - I can create folders on the microSD, copy or move file. Also, there is no problem to read data form the external card by the Tab (books, for example). So, the problem seems to be only with writing to the card from the Tab.
Could anyone give an advice please? Thank you.

You can only use the internal File Manager app built-in the tablet, OR if you have a rooted tab, then use root explorer or estrongs in root mode to do so.
Basically, the microSD card is mounted in a very awkward state - normally you cannot move or delete files from the card, but with the built in file manager app you do have the proper permissions.

Kazuni, yes, this works. Thank you very much for your help.
There is a fix here, post #7

You need root, and make sure you do a nandroid backup prior to modifying the file.

[Q] How to write to extStorages/Sdcard?

My microSD card is mounted at extStorages/Sdcard but as read-only that I have to connect to PC to write files to it.
How can I move or copy files form internal sdcard to my microSD card without connecting to PC?
you need to root your device.
This is a good place to start:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454112
The stock file manager should be able to copy files to the SD card without rooting. However, in order to write to the SD card from any other app, you will need to modify your platform.xml. If that doesn't mean anything to you, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1491954.
Well it seems that I have to root it before that

Thanks teiglin! I tried it and MyFiles works perfectly!

that would be good to know since this is something that is a bit fault in the original tablet.
It might be caused by google code since 3.2 android, unless samsung does a workaround.. i guess it will still exist.

If you just want to transfer file to your tablet, there is an application called MyPhoneExplorer. You have to install it both in your computer and your device. To access your SD card you do need to root your phone.
Connection can be made through WiFI, USB, Bluetooth or Fixed IP address.
Hope it works for you.

In my case it does.
It's not visible on my PC and never has been.
The 'posting' trick does not work to make it visible either.

I need answer if i can RESTORE just deleted video file by mistake from Gallery?

Is there a way too restore one file i just deleted by mistake. Its important video from my daughter. I looked for reclycle bin, but samsung dosent have any so it seems. any program that works? Did this file really went away, or is it stored still somewhere?
Yes, you can recover it, since you haven't overwritten it with other data yet. There's a app called DiskDigger, where you can recover lost photos, videos, documents, etc. It works even better with root access.
Keep in mind: Don't recover the video on the same internal storage again, as it can overwrite itself when recovering, making it unrecoverable. Use an USB OTG or an MicroSD and recover it to it.

Put the SD on a disk reader and use your computer with a dedicated recovery program. if you use Linux, all the better.

If you're on Windows, you can use a program, such as Recuva to restore your video. Link: https://www.piriform.com/recuva

You can configure which files do you want to scan and which files you want to skip. By default, it scans only JPG.

+1 I use this software too, I recommend it highly.
But it only works if the file is ony the SD Card (Which is your case). It doesn't support MTP (Plugging the phone via USB).
