ricardo's r_magician rom

hello, im looking for the ricardos magician rom, use to be hoested here as "r_magician.zip" i require this asap. can anyone point me in the direction of this rom pleasE? or give any info on free simlock removal? i purchased the mda compact from computer exchange and need it on o2 thanks

the r_magician rom will remove simlock for free. its just obtaining it. also imei thingi chrges 20 tmobile charge 15£ to unlock to all networks.

Short report from my try
I tried the romfile with the tutorial
Changed the ricardo rom file with my orginal bytes
Flashed it with nwrite to my sd-card
with 220 bytes -> Update not allowed
with 400 bytes -> same
with 414 bytes -> Flahing strated
-> after update I got a Englisch Version
I tried my Sim Card
I was asked for my code
and then from my networkprovider
Finally I could not remove my simlock with this rom
Does someone could give me a hint
Have I done something wrong?

just reflashed with r_magician rom.. the tutorial claims it to be 220 bytes but its infact 420 for it to work. i can conferm that yes it does unlock the phone. (simlock removal)
using o2ukgenie simcard:
signal is sufficiant.
mms works fine (with o2 payandgo settings)
reflashing the rom to another one removes the simlock featurs thus relocking the phone,
upgraded was performed on a mda compact t-mobile uk phone. radio is v1.11
thats all.

If you want to upgrade the ROM after you have unlocked it, do not update the radio ROM. Keep only nk.nb1 and ms_.nb1 if you use the MaUpgradeUt.exe method.
I have not tried it myself as I am not in the UK, but someone has reported success in doing it.

Can't upgrade to WWE from German P4350

I just got my HTC P4350 today (I bought it in Germany). It is a HTC band, not any O2, T-mobile or Vodaphone. However, it has a German OS came along (WM5 as written on the case).
I checked the forums and found this:

Downloaded the last WEE Rom and tried to upgrade, but I got the error message which says:
ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDOR ID
This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your Upgrade Utility.

Then click "Exit" to quit.
Could anyone tell me if it's possible to change my OS to English? And if yes, how can I do it?

all discussed many times.
BUT: you cannot flash a german Herald with an english rom without unlocking.
Herefor you can use imei.check.uk - but it cost.

Does anybody have any experience with MyLanguage (http://www.mylanguage.mobi)? As far as I can tell this would be sufficient for me to have an English speaking Herald.

System: Athe400 , IPL-v2.02 , SPL-v3.08.0000, WM6.1
is it possible, to cid-unlock this athena? i dont need a sim-unlocker. the athenaUnlocker will not work

Unless HTC releases its new rom for X7510, we need to use a cooked versions. Then we need to have it CID unlocked, as I assume. OliNex group has best knowledge about this. Lets ask them.

Unfortunately, according to the website Ameo 16GB/HTC x7510 etc. isn't supported, since this isn't an official HTC offer but some Chinese or wherever they come from company - just like the one in Ebay, if not the same who offer their unlock-service for "older" products on the market.
So in short, still no (official) ROM update for the "new" X7510 at this point..maybe in five minutes.

I got HTC Advantage X7510 (T-Mobile AMEO 16GB) which is SIM locked, after
boot up it shows "you have tried 15 times, please wait until
timeout", I tried with the ROM upgrade still no luck as it's showing
the "No Service". The phone is booting properly and all the other things
work except call facility.
Device name : HTC_X7510

I've have successfully done x7510_HSPL365. Boot loader now shows:
ATHE400
IPL-v2.02
ATHE400
SPL-v3.65.Olinex
I also tried with WM6.5.3-23153_128DPI_x7510_6.2_VICO ROM but it also gives
"No Service" and now reverted it back to
RUU_Athena_HTC_WWE_3.27.405.3_1.58.00.00_Ship.
Could you please advise and help me to unlock it, your help and advise will
highly be appreciated and surely will make the donation for your good work.

Has anybody tried 'gold card' method to change language on HTC HD2 Leo ??

Hello everybody, I understand there is no hardspl but just wandering
if anybody has successfully applied 'gold card' method [using QMAT software]
to change language on their HTC HD2. Infact as far as I know hardspl is needed only for cooked ROMs but if you want just to put an official ROM but in a different language I've been told you just need to follow the 'gold card' method and you don't need a hardspl [you loose your warranty though!]
Is this true and has anybody already successfully applied this method to HTC HD2???

It seams that .nbh signature can be extracted. Will ,please, someone with more experience in this tell us can we change our ROM-s (official or unofficial) using this, and if yes - how?

QMAT is 20 Euros, I am willing to pay it if it will do the job...

Already bought it.. It has some nice features.. And the full version, which includes support for LEO is to be released at the weekend i heard..
Will dig more into that, when it is released..

i flashed wwe rom on my German hd2 , the whole process is really simple and fast.

i also used a cmonex goldcard and it worked fine.

Why stop dev work because of this? It's not that every potential customer of yours would have access to the hacked beta? I would want a stable version...
If all software authors would just quit as soon as a hack or crack appears then we would be out of programs to buy pretty soon...
Does MS stop developing new Windows versions even if they know their software will be used without all people paying for it? I think you get my point now...

Trust me ... normally I don't care about my program being cracked. But cracking even unreleased beta just for some yet "unknown" stuff .... this is crazy. They even don't care if this beta has some REAL bugs that will kill some phones. And those nerds using the cracked Software are spaming my email account saying I would have killed their phone or they want support even though they never donated ... this just sucks.
However, we are now going one step further and are now working with security professionals .. money I would have preferred to use for QMAT development ... and there is a lot we want to integrate. Another change will be the name : QMAT is going to be PSAS.

Ive just tried to install the "SIM contacts update" from the HTC website.
I went through the install process but at 4% it returned the error: ERROR 294 INVALID VENDOR ID.
I did previously use a goldcard to flash 1.48.405.2 onto my tmobile hd2 and im wondering if this has anything to do with it??
Has anyone else had this issue and is there a workaround?

You can't install this on an operator-branded phone. I had the same problem with my Vodafone HD2. The easiest solution is to use HSPL.

Forgive my ignorance...I'm at my first experience with Windows Mobile and I'm lost among ROMs, Goldcards and whatever.
I purchased an used HD2 from France - it was branded Orange but I received it unlocked and I'm now using it with an italian SIM (wind).
When I tried to install the ROM update (hope it's the right way of calling it) I received the same message ("invalid vender id").... ¿What is it due to? I guess it's got something to do with the fact the phone was originally branded Orange....no further ideas though. And the more I read about "cooked roms" and "golden cards", the more I get confused.
Incidentally: ¿is there any mean of changing the device language?
