naa what you need is to download like a stock g1 rom that you KNOW has the sounds your looking for... than you un-zip that file and search in it for a media folder, thats where you'll find the ringtones and notifications sounds.. than you can either add them to another Rom's .zip file which im not sure if that works lol or you can add them to your sd card.. im sure there's other ways too...
The old audio resources can be found here: http://n0rp.chemlab.org/android/
And there is an AOSP media pack on the FBL post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929678 ("AOSP media")
Thanks AdamPI. I was ripping my hair out looking for something that would open the nbh files. I really appreciate your help!

[Q]How to diable the boot sound in Argen2Stone

Hello guys,
As i said, I tried to find the sound file with rootexplorer, but I failed.
Then I tried to find "roottools", it seems to be preinstalled in the rom, but i didn't find it.
At last i edited the /data/liberty/init.d.conf and change into "BootSound=0" , but it doesn't work.
Could you help me? Thanks a lot.
Sorry for bad english

[Q] HELP! looking for default_gain.conf FILE. GALAXY S4

Hey guys,
I'm looking for the default_gain.conf file on my Samsung S4.
I have Root Explorer and I seen everywhere online where the file is in system/etc but I don't have it there. Mine isn't there.
I wish to make the headphone volume on my Galaxy S4 louder but can't find the file to update it.
My phone isn't rooted but I haven't seen anywhere that it has to be rooted before you can find/access the file.
Any help at all?
Thanks
Try es file explorer because i can see default_gain.conf in my system/etc and mine is also not rooted.
But u will need root to change the config i think..

Is Your S4 9500 model or 9505?.....
This mod is only for I9500. expected 4.4 didn't change the file name or location.
AND no way to modify the values without rooting first.
(That's why I stay with 4.3 and Perseus' Synapse to set my loudspeaker output= )

You are a savior. Many Thanks.
unable to play media after editing mixer_paths.xml
hi everyone,
I edited mixer_paths.xml. But after editing I could not play any media files on the phone. I even replaced it with the stock mixer_paths.xml but still I am unable play any audio or video. No ringtone nothing. What to do ? please help.
Did u set the permissions correctly?
I had the same problem...copied the stock mixer_paths.xml to system/etc, and changed the permissions to RW-R--R-- and reboot...the problem vanished.
I need stock mixer file for yureka
I have attached the stock mixer file in my previous post.

Thanks dude, YOU ROCK!
I'm not sure if the flashable zip worked for me or not as I have the media volume right up to 60%. I'm on a stock prerooted 5.1.1 rom. Maybe I'll try the manual way. Sorry a bit noob with the manual way but where do I copy the files and what permissions do I need to set up?

You have to use root explorer (download it form play store).
-Extract from the .zip you've downloaded these two files:
Sony_Speaker_cal.acdb and mixer_paths.xml
-With root explorer go to the folder System/etc/acdbdata, find the original file Sony_Speaker_cal.acdb and make a backup of it.
-Now move the Sony_Speaker_cal.acdb you've extracted to the folder System/etc/acdbdata and it will ask to replace the file, say yes.
-Now tap on the file Sony_Speaker_cal.acdb and open the menu of root explorer and click on permissions.
Set them to read write in first line, read in second line, read in third line.
Under There's the octal under, make sure before hitting ok it's 0644. Hit ok and you're done.
-Now go to the etc folder and find the mixer_paths.xml file and make a backup of it.
-Now move the mixer_paths.xml you've extracted to the folder System/etc and it will ask to replace the file, say yes.
-Now tap on the file mixer_paths.xml and open the menu of root explorer and click on permissions.
Set them to read write in first line, read in second line, read in third line.
Under There's the octal under, make sure before hitting ok it's 0644. Hit ok and you're done.
Reboot the phone and you're ready to go.
Hope it will help you.
On my z3 compact the flashing .zip didn't work, inserted files manually and it works like a charm, thank you for the work.
Thank you so much for your detailed instructions but unfortunately it didn't work. It's not you, it's me. I'll try again and if still no luck, I might have to wait for the op to make the flashable zip.
