Jeg bruker Custom Locale fra Market og den fungerer utmerket. Jeg får Norsk på det meste unntagen i "Settings"
But isnt that an app?
Isnt there any other way fron Acer? or regular settings?
Dose that app work as fine as the setting app? (I mean can u see every thing in swedish?)
Thanks for the help
You can see the most important things in Swedish, like Market, news, weather, Gallery, Calendar, Gmail, Facebook, Google Maps, Music and many of the apps that are multilingual will show up in Swedish.
Oki Thanks for the help
I Will wait for dustin a couple of days, since they say that they will get swedish ones.. if not i will use the app you recomended..

Hello!
I have a brand new Sony Ericsson X1 with swedish language, keyboard and layout.
It is no problem because I understand it perfectly.
But the swedish people have 2 letters that we also have but we write it different.
They have öÖ and äÄ but we use øØ and åÅ
How can I change it in the system?
On the phones keyboard I know that I have to live with it, but I would like to change it in the system.
Anybody know how???
The phone is great by the way
Regards
Carl
Norway
Where did you get it from? How much RAM does it have?
It has 256
I bought it in the shop.
My own shop
It has been released...
are you sure that your x1 is a final product?
I have my own cellphone company here in Norway.
Yes it is finale.
The common one in Norway is only with English language and letters
But the swedish one is different
You should be aware that the memory should total 384MB. It is still unclear if this is split between the OS and the graphics. Can you confirm that the ATI chip has 128MB of dedicate ram?
I am new here, but I can try take a photo of my screen and publish it.
But how do I do it?
Then you all can see how it is
Give us some good info and we'll fix your problem
Maybe this program can make our day? http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php
I'm at least hoping so, as I can't say my patience is well enough developed to wait until Q1 2009 -and let's face it, it'll be late March 2009, not January 1st.
I'm considering getting the English version and use the program above to remap Fn+o into ø, as an example.
The Swedish phone with English software, and remapped ö and ä would be perfect, me thinks...
What shop, by the way?
Please, for the love of all that is holy, let us know the UTMS bands found on the X1i. You can find that info under settings. Thanks and congrats!

Hi Carl,
Please be kind enough and take tons of photos and upload 'em somewhere...
Also a review + video if possible (today). And of-course take screenshots of the About screen where it displays system information. That way we can probably determine if the 3D chip has the other 128 MB dedicated memory...
Please Please Please Please Please Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Best Regards.
Salman Khalid.
P.S. You guys wouldn't happen to ship to Pakistan? Or rather have an outlet/store in Dubai?
Hi,
Can you tell me what Frequency you can chose under UMTS band.
Thx a lot.
Yes, PLEASE let us know which UMTS bands the phone supports. You must have an X1i, which is the best version of the Xperia since there are no cutbacks.
To check which frequency bands the phone supports, do the following:
START --> SETTINGS --> PERSONAL (tab) --> PHONE --> BAND (tab)
You will probably need reception when you're checking this, as the phone may grey out your options if it's searching for a network...
It would also be good to know if you have a decent amount of stock to be able to ship. I'm sure this is just a pipe dream, but it would be nice to at least hear some good news about the X1 once in a while...
Thanks in advance!
dear carl,
you will be an absolute HERO once you post a screen shot of the available bands

Mobilguruen

thanks in advance
To all of you
Hello everybody!
I will post all the things you want tomorrow.
I need to have some time free for this
I will post screenshots of the ram and the bands.
Something more you want?
All I know is that the Sony Ericsson has told me that the version sold here in Norway "now" is going to be an english version with english language, letters and keyboard.
The phone that will be available oktober 30 wil have æ, ø and å from the fn key using o for ø, æ and å from a.
After christmas it will be released with Norwegian language, letters but they will not confirm if it is own Norwegian keys on the keyboard.
They spoke about that you might use the fn key.
I hope they will put the special æ ø å keys as they have done in sweden.
I am trying to change the keys in reg editor to have æ and ø where it is ö and ä on the phone.
But this is not my feel, the t9 wordlist is no problem.

Bulgarian ROM does not exist in nature. But I can make it. The truth is it takes a lot of my time. You will have all the resources at hand to translate.
I'm willing to try it in my spare time. But i'll need help with technical part.
I will be quite grateful even for a keyboard solution only.
I was thinking of spending some time how to make it, but a major issue is the number of the characters and how they fit conveniently is the touch keyboard.
There is a Russian version of Cyrillic keyboard that needs some tweaks but is done really well and looks great.
I also have some feeling that somewhere I met Diamond in Bulgarian. I guess it will be easy to borrow parts of the ROM from there.
I am willing to contribute with whatever I can. Let us see if we can get traction here.

It is early for whole ROM, but there is Bulgarian Manila3.
Just one corection! There IS Bulgarian ROM! I bought my HD with It. The only problem is that I flashed my HD 4 hours after I got it and I didn't dump the original ROM! Manila and most of the OS were in Bulgarian and there was a good BG keyboard just like the HTC one.

I couldn't find anywhere Bulgarian ROM. May be it's just localization like one from Sunnysoft.
Where from you bought HD with Bulgarian?
I bought mine from 2be 1 month ago. I don't know if it's just localization or not but Manila, menus, keyboard, and many of the programs were in bulgarian.

2be can flash back stock ROM with BG, if they don't want you can go to Oconnect. - they will.
Cleaned this thread up a bit. Please keep it on topic and abide by forum rules by using English Language

So after all is there any bulgarian orm to be used as a base atleast ?
Honestly i dont know WHY you need a Bulgarian ROM? for me and many other peoles is enought if we have Bulgarian Support in the Keyboard and you can do this easy with the Finger Keyboard witch is FREE software
Another one that is Super cool but is not free is Resco Keyboard PRO..
Excusme but if all the ROM is translated in Bulgarian/Cirilic i think will not look good and on the same time will be a bit confused because some technical words in English cannot be translated corectly on Bulgarian or at least will look FUNNY.
From the 1st time when i start to use Cell Phone befor alot of years i never asked my phone even to have Bulgarian Menu.. because they often translate it so FUNNY and Confused that is much more better to use it with English Menu, At least you dont need to be a English Professor to understand and to be able to work without problem with the WWE ROM
Yes it will be just like russian ?! But its nicer when you see it in you native language. Espacialy when Everything around us is in Latin and some of our children have started to write in their notebook at school in "Shliokavica"(Phonetical type of expression with latin letters) and after all whe have to be proud with the cyrillic
Hallo guys,
I know this is a stupid question..but I am completely new to android....
I am planning to buy a HTC desire for me (after a hard time choosing desire over legend)and htc hero for my younger brother (yup...must be definitely a lot cheaper one)...
I am living in germany and I have no problem using germans but my bro back home doesn't understand a word in germans...
I plan to buy it brand new and without any form of branding from any operator...
Can I change the hero from germans to english completely? All...HTC sense, standard installed apps which come with the handset...
Yes you can... I bought my little Hero from eXpansys last year and it come with English, French, Deutsch and Italiano as default.
Menu > Settings > Language & Text > Here I am unsure what it is in English since I use Swedish (More Locale 2 @ Market rocks) but it's at the top and then you can change it to whatever you like...
HTC actually include more language files into the Hero than is normaly available to the different regions and to get to those you have to download More Locale 2 from the market.
Thank you very much for your answer.
Have a nice day.
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a good German-English English-German dictionary app. Any ideas? If possible I'd like an offline dictionary. I've donwloaded Leo,but it uses internet connectivity, and while its very good,I'm looking for a dictionary that can function when I don't have the luxury of a data connection or when I'm near my data limit.
Any ideas guys? Thanks for ur help
Re: German Dictionary
Try QuickDic from market. It's free and offline. I like it a lot...
+1 for QuickDic. A very good app!
Re: German Dictionary
I've tried that. Don't quite understand how it works though?
Re: German Dictionary
I think colordict is free too just Download the german dict addon from the market

Start the app. In the 'Search Text' box (top left) type the word that you want translated.
2 boxes to the right is a switch for EN or DE. This shoud be set to EN if you want to type in English (for a German translation) or DE if you want to type in Deutsch (for an English translation).
Simples ...
I've found that there are almost no dictionaries with not only multilingual support, but even with no multi-dictionary support! SlovoEd from Paragon Software has tens of independent apps for any dictionary/language - that's very inconvenient to use. The same goest about Mobile Systems dictionaries. The best that they could do is Concise Oxford English Dictionary and Thesaurus - a miracle: two dictionaries in one!
In fact, what I need is Russian/English, Russian/German and English dictionaries, but I don't want to have 3 apps for that!
Why is there no ABBYY Lingvo... Or a dict that would accept .lsd files. ColorDict don't have any more Russian dics than English-Russian.
Do you know of any solutions to that?
I have a problem with my Galaxy S. I have Norwegian language but both facebook, twitter, Gmail and Android Market is in English. It was not like that on my HTC Desire. All of the other apps are in Norwegian, like the calendar, clock, calculator, messages, phone etc.
Does anyone else have that problem? That some of the apps are in your native language and some is in English. Like I said, it was not like that on my Desire, so it seems like Samsung have done a bad job when translating the phone.
Is it possible to install a language pack?

No one can answer this?
No one knows this?
My phone is in swedish, everything seems to be in order there. I switched to Norwegian and noted the same problem you do, so I guess it's the norwegian translation that's incomplete for some reason.

Hmm, weird. It's not a BIG deal, but quit annoying and it seems like Samsung has done a bad job.
I tried to switch over to Swedish lang and it is like you said. Both Gmail, Facebook, Market and Twitter is translated like it was on my HTC Desire. Hope Samsung fixes this in the 2.2 upgrade.
PS! I see now that we're starting to get paid-apps now I can now go into the Beautiful Widget app, which I could't do before.
same problem here on my galaxy s!
And it's still like this in Froyo
I have a question, that is: Is it possible to take the language file from HTC's translation of Market, Gmail, facebook and twitter and replace it with the one on Touchwiz?
Cause the translationjob is so bad done that it freaks me out. Something is in english, and other in norwegian. I want all in norwegian like it is on HTC devices.
