hi,
could you please help me.
I was replaced many files in my system
after that i got damage
I restoring it to factory settings from setting .. but after restart i can't pass the welcom screen .
Also I try update.zip by sdcard but not work
I sure the only solution is by nvflash but i can't found files for acer a500.
Best Regards
Sorry to report that nvflash is not yet working for our iconia:-( what files did you replace?
I believe the problem because of (build.prop)
Thanks
No problem, its a little scary modding this thing without a working restore.......

This is the only way to fix it..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1086785
but if you said the update.zip didn't work, then your kind of stuck. That's the only thing that will get you back into your tablet.
does it show up under adb when connected to a PC?
Thank you for your interest and your help
But even now I could not resolve the problem
I will try to find a way to flash the system by Nfvlash
This is what happens when people--who don't read through things like they should--start messing with stuff.

I know you guys hate when people jump the gun...but I'm honestly running out of ideas here. Earlier today I tried to use LCD Density changer on my Nexus S...whether this was stupid on my part, you all can decide later. As for now my nexus boots a black screen. I'm only posting here cuz maybe in finding a solution we can uncover a bit about how the nexus is set up, because it seems to refuse any changes made to the system through fastboot or adb push.
I have tried just about every option to restore the system to stock format, and need help getting my nexus back to booting condition. I've tried fastboot flashing the system.img and just get a "write failed" error. I've pushed the whole system dump to /system through adb and when i reboot it is still missing the files i just pushed. I've flashed different boot.img's in combination with the first two steps, and still my phone remains unbootable.
Any ideas what could be going wrong?

Is it safe to say you didnt do nandroid restore prior?
Yes, that is correct...didn't think it'd cause this much of a problem(stupid me). I asked earlier if maybe some could upload a nandroid restore for me so I could at least attempt that. But I got no response, so I'm still in the dark.

Hahahahaha best thing I've heard all day
Apparently the NS is super-brickable, according to JBQ (@jbqueru) on android-building:
-Even though Nexus S is designed to be suitable for AOSP work, there
are some caveats. I very strongly recommend against trying to use
Nexus S for anything related to AOSP at the moment. Trying to unlock
or use your Nexus S for AOSP work could easily turn it into a Nexus B
(where B means "brick"); I have two of those, they're not very useful.
I'll send some guidelines about what is currently possible once I've
finished pushing the source code.

Is there anyway I can get the link for that nandroid? I seem to have messed my system files up as well.

maybe you can upload it to mediafire or somewhere else, and create a thread? it might help others out
ill take your advice on that Thanks
adb push may not have been working because your system wasn't mounted properly in Clockwork recovery. I had this issue when trying to root. In Recovery, go to Mounts & Storage and hit "Mount System" THEN adb push the system dump.
You probably didn't need to nandroid. Could have just used adb to reset the density line in your build.prop I assume?

Hi guys, i'm the developer of LCD Density Changer. Sorry about the problems it caused.
Is it true that the Nexus S, doesn't support a density change. That would be a real bummer! Not for the app, but in general. I just don't hope Google blocks a density change in their new Android versions.
A question: does the "preview/temporarily" density change works in the LCD Density Changer app. If so, there is still hope.
Meanwhile, based on these reports I will put up a note to warn Nexus S users.

Welcome to XDA. There are some things you'll need to add into your post if you really want some help:
What Rom (version) are you using?
What kernel are you running?
Do you have a logcat?
If you can't answer these questions, you'll need to do some research. You'll find most people are willing to help as long as you provide them with complete details as to what your problem may be. This question, as it is, doesn't give anyone much of a clue as to how they can help you. It's too general. Anyhow, good luck and I hope you're able to resolve your issue.
Hello all,
I understand that to unbrick that a500 I need this file
acer_a500_0.000.00_1.122.01_emea_gen5_update.zip
however any link for this file points to either megaupload or filesonic - neither of which work anymore.
Does anyone have a copy of this file, or any other instruction on how to unbrick my device?
Details: I was running a rom with a custom kernel and got it into my head all I needed to do to restore it to stock would be to restore acer's recovery and flash the unstable 3.0.1 rom. Now I'm stuck with Acer's recovery and a boot loop at the boot animation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you have flashed the unstable 3.0.1 do a hard reset and reboot. It might fix it.

Let me guess. You increased to Max CPU, probably messed with the voltages, then selected "apply at boot"?
Ok, did you install the CWM Recovery that came with AcerRecovery when you first rooted? And then, make a system recovery backup before messing with kernels? Sounds like a no, or else it would have been easy to restore your backup copy after the boot-loop.
This may work for you like it did for the other guy;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506321
Note that you will have to decrypt the file, and get the update.zip from it. There is a tool listed there on Vache's thread listing for roms. It shouldn't need to be the exact Com_Gen version.
If that doesn't work, post back. We'll try something else.
Like this thread, method 2;

Thanks guys I will try these and get back to you
So, the hard reset allowed my machine to boot, but then I got the setup screen asking for a password.
I hard reset the device again, saw the erase user data, etc and got the normal welcome screen.
Thanks very much guys!!
Incidentally Moscow, I think I may have played around with the GPU clock settings and forgot about them, but not the CPU. Yes I did use the CWM from Acer Recovery - which I used to restore Acer's recovery and flash downgrade_not_stable.
At any rate I am glad it's working again! You guys saved me a lot of grief!

No problem. Next time, install CWM or RA Revamped Recovery, and make a Recovery/nand backup before messing with them dirty kernels

Try going to stock recovery and wipe data factory reset and then wipe cache.
Be sure to backup your photos and files and contacts on your internal memory.
Report back.

The only thing I can think to do is just restore your device to it's original factory settings/ROM as it will restore all the system files and hopefully restore your ability to use Bluetooth, then try rooting you device by using the one click root from towelroot.com, which hasn't caused me any problems what so ever.

Do i n just need to do factory reset or flash original rom?
And towleroot did'nt work for me?. Is' nt there a way where all my data does' nt get lost?
I would do both, first do a factory restore then flash the stock ROM and hopefully it will fix the problem. Towleroot worked for me, but I had to access the site and download the. apk file using my phone and to answer you last question when you flash a custom ROM all your data is erased, so you should backup your information before you, flash a ROM, or do a Factory restore it will make things easier.

Your welcome and I think it will fix the problem you are having, if it doesn't I'm not sure what else to do.
