Okay so I'm quite new to all this, and today I rooted my phone, installed xrecover and all that, saved a back up, imported new back up (floyo-0.20) restored the new one, but then when I reboot my phone it just goes from the sony ericson logo to hackdroid, turns off and repeats,
Anyone know what I've done wrong and how i can fix this?
Did you made a full wipe from xrecovery after installing froyo?
Some times you must clean the Rom.

Yeah, I did a full wipe.
Any other ideas
Did you flash your phone to the last firmware and baseband? I read that these roms requires firmware and baseband updates.

I posted this on DamageLess' page in hopes that he could help me, but I haven't gotten a reply yet. I figure someone on this forum can help me.. Just read the paragraph and you'll know my problem...
Hey man, I really need your help
I tried using your new DCUpdater (which is a fantastic idea btw) and i'm having a major issue. My phone won't boot. At first I was having problems with SuperUser, but I fixed that by enabling USB debugging, then unplugging the phone, then using the Updater. That worked. But when I tried to reboot the phone, it wouldn't boot. I wiped, restored to my most recent backup, and it still won't boot. I wiped, manually installed your new ROM, and tried to reboot again, and that's where I am right now. It had the Quietly brilliant screen, flashed the sprint logo screen, and now it's back to the Quietly brilliant screen. I think it's in an endless boot, because as I was typing this, the screen flashed grey for a second, then it flashed the sprint logo, and now it's back to quietly brilliant. Please please PLEASE get back to me asap, because I don't know what to do.

id say do not flash a rom. do a factory wipe then restart. read my comment under ur original post
You can do what the 2nd guy said..
Wipe everything.. Then dont flash or nandroid restore.. JUST reboot your phone.
Or save all your files to your computer that are on your sdcard... Repartition your sdcard. Then reflash the rom and move your stuff back.

I just did a factory reset, wiped my Dalvik cache, and wiped my sc card option thingy. I went straight from there to rebooting my phone. I'll say something if it boots now
i'd say wipe settings, wipe ext, wipe dalvik, flash rom, boot. if that doesn't work, wipe again and again then boot.

Reboot into boot loader. (Power button and hold volume down)
Then select recovery. It will boot into cw, and you can restore or reflash.
I tried that, didn't work, My nandroid would load just fine and then nothing.. I just loaded the old rom on and it works..
Maybe you can answer this for me since i'm a noob, If i have gingerbread 2.3 how would i load a diff rom on there (honeycomb, etc..) ? I'm using clockword mod recov 3.0. something something

Simply put the .zip file for whatever rom you want on the SD and flash like you have been. That simple. Once you wipe, its like a clean slate so you can flash whatever you want.
Thanks, Maybe there was something wrong with my Nandroid back and it would restore my previous save.. So it doesn't matter what kernal/rom or version of clockwork I have as long as I wipe data & reset correct?

Ok, I'm about to smash my phone into pieces...
Today I tried to install the new version of FroyoBread (020) and everytime my phone shows the FroyoBread boot logo and reboots...
I tried to do a clean install.. I formatted data, system, cache, dalvik cache and then I installed custom.zip and it still reboots...
Then I formatted the SD card...It didn't work.
I also tried to flash stock (root, xrecovery) and install it again...It didn't work either..
Please help me.. I have never had this problem before so I don't know exactly what to do...
I'm sorry if this has already been asked before (I checked Froyobread F.A.Q. thread but there wasn't any question like this!)
I'm also sorry about my English..(still learning)
*EDIT* Solved!
firmware and baseband version?
...
Hi there.
That happened to me too!
What i did was just flash it with original 2.1 rom and then, after root it again, full wipe, cache wipe, dalvik..., i installed froyobread and worked!
Best regards!

Hi,
Flashed stock JVR. Then flashed SURFACE Rom over it. Then flashed PaulGiddy's theme over it. Now FC msgs appear every 2-3 secs. Sometimes it is acore (BTW what is it?), sometimes it is phone, sometimes mms. Everything is crashing. The phone app, phonebook etc all gone (to where?). Looked around forum and found 2 versions of phone.apk. Installed those .zips on CWM too but did't help.
Pls help somebody!!!
tried formatting phone from cwm??delete data and cache..reboot.reflash with stock again if problem stil persists.

Did it. Then performed a hard reset again by *2767*3855# (just to be ultra clean).
Looks clean uptill now. No FCs.
Now the steps I think should be performed are (in order):
1. Flash a custom kernel (SpeedMod for eg.)
2. Flash a custom ROM (SURFACE, for eg.)
3. Change the CSC to my country (maybe using Nitrality)
4. Apply a good looking theme (PaulGiddy for eg.)
5. Restore Apps by TitaniumBackup.
Now, the thing is, I've done it all before too. But, I dont know which step caused the problem.
Maybe I did all one-after-another without waiting for some time in between to let the things settle (maybe a week or so).
Pls advise what should I do now (I'm still ultra-n00b to flashing world).
Did you delete some apps from system/app?

If you want to flash surface rom, then just follow instructions in rom thread step-by-step and do everything what is said..many times fc's are caused by bad flash or theme which replaces some apks/files. So try your rom before flashing theme (as boot & few minutes waiting time before that is anyway advised..) and you will see if it's theme which is causing problems.
Also, restore only user apps with TB..

Hey guys.
my phone : E15i , baseband xx015, 2.1.1.A.0.6, rooted, xrecovery 1.1, tried out some custom roms by racht, works perfectly, currently using stock rom.
before rooting, papago! (gps app) works on my phone perfectly,
now, satellite search doesnt work, cannot locate my position, cannot navigate,
so i used xrecovery and did factory reset, format system, wipe cache, (idk what they do, i thought it is just clearing all stuffs in my phone)
now, the phone just stucks at "Sony Ericsson", is it bricked? solutions?
You should not Do "FORMAT SYSTEM".
Now you lost your firmware/Rom from your Phone. So its soft bricked.
Solution: Use PC Companion And open support Zone and repair software.
Or seus you can instal some other Rom,just transfer to you sd card(mount on xrecovery)

Yoo man, use PC COMPANION and update your phone to 2.1.C.O... or UPDATE SERVICE or flash 2.1.C.O... with flashtool. And again root your phone!
