Hi,
Please check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10429937&postcount=3
You should look for a ROM with one of his kernels here:

Thank you first
Which one is appropriate for the NAND I could not select the best suited for battery expanded
just need Kernel not ROM

Android on ARM920T phones? (like Trinity.. ;-))

Dear all,
as I wrote on this other post (excuse me for crossposting - please mods to close the wrong-placed one):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=384850
there are two guys that recompiled Android for ARMv4 processor - like ARM920T, the trinity processor!!
Here you have the links:
http://benno.id.au/blog/
http://perpetual-notion.blogspot.com/2008/10/android-freerunnder-updates.html
They are working on the Freerunner and Neo1973 devices.. but the processor is the same..
Anyone out there wants Android on our beloved trinity?
At the moment I have no spare time (and skills) to take the challenge.. but I hope that someone will do.
I think that with the source code the CLZ and Thumb mode issues are completely addressed.
Anyone could confirm this to me?
Best regards,
s
Hi,
i'm also interested to see android on my htc hermes. i'm waiting benos new blog entries to see if he was able to run the code on "Neo1973".
What is the diference between htc hermes and htc dream (g1) regarding other chips beside the prcessor?
i don't think that drivers included in android can cover all chips in hermes. can someone maybe make an list of same and different devices(chips) in this 2 devices?
thanks
G phone?
So this is the same OS that the G phone is sporting yeah?
If The flashing process isn't harder than the current process then I'd be up for this. Also will it brick the phone?
Need some people to test.
Great Topic!
More information about this here:

Since the openmoko is very like the p3600 I will give these patches a try. Let you know!
That would be awesome !
Please tel us your progression.
I'm waiting for a Android ROM for my Trinity ^_^
This is what we can try. The openmoke images are out. Since the openmoke is very like the p3600 we could give these images a try. The images are located over here.

The thing we also need is to have a proper default.txt for haret. Who can help?
Hi piethein,
This will replace the rom we have installed in the trinity or is like an emulator running under wm ?
We dont loss any wm rom that we have installed ?
Dear all,
here you have some (bad) news:

at the link above you will find a thread I started in adroid-porting developers group.

at this link there are other infos, but let me report two msgs:
shaice:
Dear all,
sorry to bother you with (probably) silly questions but..
I own a HTC trinity that use the same ARM920T processor of Freerunner.
I saw benno's and christopher's posts on their blogs...
Is there any chance that your binaries will run on other ARM920T
phones?
Thank you in advance for any answer.
Best regards,

Christopher Friedt:
Hi Shaice,
In short, no (for now...)
Chris
sigh sob!
Now I'm searching for some fresh news.
Stay tuned!
s
uhmm reading somewhere in the group I found this post:
Jean-Baptiste Queru

The shipping G1s have 192MB. Earlier development devices had 128MB,
and that wasn't quite enough to smoothly run the applications that
ship with the G1. Even if all the device's RAM could be allocated to
Android (no baseband, no framebuffer) 64MB would probably be very
tight, to the point where even foreground applications would risk
getting killed because of low memory conditions (the browser
especially comes to mind). In 32MB the system is likely to be
thrashing for memory even before it's done starting the system server
(if it can even start it at all).
JBQ
Mmmmh no good news for us.. :-/

....but forget about running exactly these images on your trinity units.
It won't work
I don't want to digg your hope but there's a lot to do to make it real.
First:
You'll need a kernel that suits to trinity and offer some features the android OS needs.
Second:
You'll have to modify the image in jffs2 format to get loaded on trinity or build up a tricky environment to mount these image files after booting the kernel.
Have fun!

Android on Trinity wanted!!
now that the full Android code is out it's possible!!
we can have Android on Trinity!!
please help... I cannot stand anymore WM!!
IMHO there is no enough memory to run smoothly android on trinity...
but stay tuned..
s
Dear all,
there is no hope for trinity users like us to see android running on our wonderful device.
As stated here:
http://groups.google.com/group/android-internals/browse_thread/thread/788c201e75ca7351
Android don't run on the ARM920T used in Neo1973.
In the following site
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_architecture#ARM_cores there is a table
where are described all the ARM cpu.
Android framework is compiled for the ARMv5 architecture version, so run on
the all the processors that belong to this architecture version and also in
some cpu of the new architecture (ARMv6/v7).

[androi][NAND] needed tinboot/framebuffer/multiboot testers

Hi. dzo's bootloader requires flashing kernel/initrd/cmdline each time to change settings in android, while recovery is not an issue with RUU and hardspl there may a better way. We also maybe able to support leaving Windows Mobile in NAND and booting from sd for those that want multiboot capability even with the small flash size of the vogue. There a few approaches here, one involves adding multiboot support to HardSPL directly, another to extend tinboot to support a second embedded (cooked) xip with a key press switching modes. The first thing I want to try however is clearing the screen and drawing a basic framebuffer message or menu. We might also switch to a more capable bootloader when support for the NAND and SD can be added. This is in vogue thread but most of the concepts should apply to all HTC MSM devices with Windows Mobile. If you need to reach me try tmzt in #htc-linux on freenode.
do you have anything put together to test out? i'm not very interested in dual booting but i am interested in any bootloader improvements.
I don't have a vogue so I can only build images for others to test, hence this thread.
I am interested in Multiboot images. I would prefer to have Galaxo 1.6.3 as my standard OS and an Android 2.1 OS (like GAOSP or mustymod) as a second on my Samsung Galaxy. It is possible to have a Bootscreen at startup?
A HowTo for programming / customization would be awesome.

You could try Andboot, which will load before Windows starts up and will let you choose between both OS. Good luck!
That´s my problem, Galaxy (i7500) don´t have Windows. Its an Android Handy. I don´t have any ideas for programming a Bootloader for Android...

So, basically you are asking if you can have a dual boot system on a native Android device? I don't believe that is possible yet.
Ok, I will search for some methods from Users in german language and then I will try it.
Thanks for your answers.

Extended Battery and SENSE

Hey everybody
I know there are loads of problems with the official extended battery from HTC and the new NAND builds of Android.
I'm in the unfortunate position where my only functioning battery is the extended one.
Am I correct in assuming that the Hastarin Kernel is the ONLY (somewhat) functioning EB kernel out there? And to your knowledge are there any Sense roms with that Kernel attached out there?
and lastly, can I use any Sense ROM and just add the Hastarin kernel to it? Are there any guides for that out there.
Thanks everybody for a great community and for helping a noob out!

[ROM]WM6.5 fxdjROM1 Build 21840 Radio 1600

Huge free ROM memory soon ! Look at the end of the thread
After reading this introduction go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11498888&postcount=48
to get update
Hi.
Here You have my WM6.5 radio 1600 "anti-ROM" :
- None HTC software ( I do not need it and I do not like it - SPB Shell is all what I need )
- None huge menus like in 6.5.x ROMs
Based on Malezya English rom. Cleaned by me as far as I needed so what You can find it:
1) As .cab so removable :
a) SPB shell in OEM registered 3.01 version . It is full functional and do not require registration but I guess that You like me will upgrade it to 3.5.5 version.
Having such version You can get registration key for 3.5.5 version directly from SPB manufacturer
With 3.01 version You have 103.5 MB of free RAM at boot. With 3.5.5 version
You have 100.5 MB of free RAM.
b) Full functional ArcSoft software :
- MMS composer
- Streaming Player
- Photo Base
c) Registered full functional CorePlayer
d) Total Commander
e) .cabs for :
- WM menu removal ( simplified version of colegue mirolg .cab )
- common known .cab for shutter sound removal
2) Not removable :
- fdcTaskMgr - tool which every system developer should have
- Office 2010
- Windows Media Player with .mp4 support
- BT icon notifier - taken from internet
Additional features:
3) Own created "Power" directory where You can find software for :
- system restart
- system standby
All above created by myself
- system power off
- backlight off - created by me too . In this configuration , one can switch backlight on by taping the screen not pressing power button.
And...... what I am especially proud, I put battery driver right at last
Not completely but I hope You will like it
As You remember our TG01 has some annoying features :
1) Sometimes voltage gauge drops too much and does not return until restart
2) When battery level goes down do 20% ( not real level but gauge level ! ) we get:
a) notification from system - can be omited
b) some applications do not want to start or even if they will start at for example 30% battery level, they stop when battery reaches 20% and less.
In my case it was Wi-Fi manager and camera.
c) when battery level reaches 0 %, tg01 switches off without any user interaction. When it happens, battery level is about 3.5V
Some of You know my software battery driver manager for battery driver stopping/restart . It is any solution but not nice and do not prevent be all described cases.
What exactly I did in this ROM ?
I have written my own driver which is stub on oiginal battery driver.
It works the way that when original battery driver says "20% or less" , it says it to me not to the system. To the system I say "26%" .
No matter whether original driver says 20%,10% or 0% , I say to system 26% so as You can see, all system gauges will show 26%. That is why all software on our tg01 will always work untill .... not 0% but real "hardware death". You can discharge battery to even 2.9V until hardware say "enough". It is safe for battery. Absolute minimum level is 2.75V .
Mentioned value 26% is configurable but has been choosen above 25%. When I have 21% , Wi-Fi still was saying it is not enough. You can of course set it to 100%
Other feature concerned with this stub driver is additional battery level icon at upper bar from the left. It shows this value what original battery driver would show without my stub. It switches on , original battery driver say that level is <= 20% . It switches off when original battery driver says that level is >= 30% .
I did it so that user knew what is "real" battery level when system gauges show 26%
With this rom of course You do not have to use ( it is even forbidden ) my battery driver manager.
Uffff.
Thanks for Mangasora for His clean roms left on this forum and leeston2379 for very initial test of my build.
And thanks to others for some icons and maybe other features I forgot to mention about.
here my rom:

Hi olyloh6696.
Do not be angry at me, but watching that people are not interested to have their system a little bit fixed ( I know, icons and skins are more important ) I decided that if someone will want this driver I will give it provided :
1) The person will test my rom and tell me this feature works ok/nok ( I did not test it enough strong so far, so the driver may have any bugs and maybe it does not work the way people expected ) and then whether he is still interested to get it.
2) Binary installer will be in personalized form - only for given person so I will require IMEI number.
3) Any asks for PM

Oh olyloh6696, I do not order You to use it as permament rom . I only would like You to test it especialy in this battery driver stub context.
As a matter of fact maybe some day I will return to WM6.1 . ffboy's rom was very good.
I guess that there should not be problems to install it on WM6.1 but I have to test it. It is simply loadable driver with supported utils( applications). Driver itself works after loading in context of devices.exe as any driver should.

After one year of cooked roms, this is the first serious advance to bypass the stupid 20% Toshiba's limitation.
It's just a roundabout, but it's the first step.
I've been using your battery driver manager since its launching and it's very useful! I've created a direct access and when the silly Toshiba's 20% warning pops up, I can stay working until the real 0% battery voltage

As I mentioned in first post here, my battery manager it is a past and "old" solution.
Driver included in my rom does it without any user interraction and does not disturb ( stops or restarts - simply uses answers from original battery driver ) original battery driver.
Once installed, user forgots about 20% problem in TG01.

I can confirm it.
Before achieving the 20% level I didn't understand completely how your driver worked. And it's easy and brilliant! When battery indicator is near 21% , the red indicator says (as the petrol/gasoline indicator does in your car) that you are draining your battery...20%..10%... up to 0%!! Meanwhile the "windows" indicator shows 26% as you "cheat" the system.
Again: Brilliant!!!

I was functioning very well and also had a trick with this rom is that when installed, to a hard reset and let the 350 MB ROM, I have tried several times and has always worked.
The fact is that seeing this rom the battery driver I've tested and works perfectly and you can use the wifi to deplete the battery.
I also operate in the iGO8 TTS voices. So I'm super happy with this rom.
One could try to get the 350MB of ROM of the other rom on this? Would it be possible?
Of course, this rom has it disabled WM start menu, right?
A greeting and thanks

Hmm, I have never heard abot tg01 having more than about ~270-280MB of free ROM. You can see this value in system info ? Can You show any link that confirms it ? Even author ( user feropont ) says abot 269MB.

Hello
So I wanted to comment, is that he puts 269 MB but if you do a hard reset my 350MB has always given me free.
Wonder why. One could try in your rom somehow try to get the 350MB. Then would be the perfect rom.
I will install the rom farepont and try and make a catch. From all I've tried, I just happened in this rom.
Then return to your rom and shape it.

If system says after hard reset it has 350MB free ROM, try simply to copy one or few files to TG01 flash. Ensure that total size of copied files is about 350MB. We will see how big is free rom then.
