I've got some kind of fog on the underside of my screen. It doesn't affect anything and I can only see it in low light and only occasionally...but its bugging the heck out of me.
Anyone have any tips? I'm very comfortable doing it, just want to know if anyone has any pointers for me.
I don't have an answer, but I would love to hear some more details. I may have a similar issue...
Sent from my Xoom the way it should be, rooted and with SD card.
Sure it's not a faded spot? I happen to have one of those.

Well I just replaced my arias digitizer, all works well besides making and receiving calls. My screen will turn black and be unresponsive, I can be heard by the other person but on my end my phone is unresponsive. I would have to take out the battery to get it to respond, which is ridiculous. This has been an issue for many people and I want to get to the bottom of it. All help is welcomed, thank you.
There is a tiny rubber cover for the proximity sensor that needs to be there for it to work properly. It is easy to lose when you replace the screen.

Currently I am messing with it and I've tried many things. Could you possibly describe it, much appreciated.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
It is a little rubber thing, square on one side and round on the other, with a hole through it. It fits over the proximity sensor to focus it through the round window on the glass.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. Well apparently I must have put my earpiece in wrong too and I can't hear anything during a call. Many thanks if you can tell me how it goes in.

I resolved the speaker issue. now its just the damn sensor, i cant wake from calls :/. To be exact, what does the proximity sensor look like and which tiny window does it "see" through?
Right next to the speaker are two little sensors. The closest to the speaker is the proximity sensor and the other one is the light sensor. Above these on the glass are two round windows.

If you search around on here, someone posted a hack for disabling the proximity sensor. This will enable you to make calls, but you will obviously lose the sensor function.
Sent from my Liberty using Tapatalk
I have seen that thread about disabling it, I'm trying to keep that as very last resort. Well does the sensor look like a tiny little chip?
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Yes, it has a little circular 'eye' on it.

Thank you. I'll continue to mess with it. Btw, what do you know about the gingerbread development? Anything about the aria?

The Cyanogen people are working on it as we speak.

I have a black line in all my pictures that I just noticed a few days ago. Only shows up on photos taken from my phone. There is no crack I can see on the glass over the camera. Any ideas what it could be or a fix for it?
Last thing I installed was the clean v0.9 rom and the nexus s theme

Check to see if there is a scratch or anything on the camera lens. If there isn't, go back to stock (probably good to do this anyway) and check the camera again to see if it still does it. If it does, I'd take it back and get it replaced as that doesn't sound like a software problem.
Sounds like a broken element on the ccd to me.

Thanks for the response guys. I think you're right it's a hardware issue. Back to stock and off to verizon.... Hey maybe my new fascinate will like oc kernels lol.

Bummer dude.. Mine says "not enough memory" when trying to snap a photo.. Thank god I don't use it.
OK, I've only noticed this now, but as you can see by the image, the right side of the screen seems like, well I dont how to explain it. Anyone know what it is, possibly how to fix it?

I think the word your looking for is normal.
Lol
But seriously i dont see anything wrong
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
I don't see anything wrong either. Is there something physically wrong with the screen? Screenshots won't show that obviously.
Unless you mean that the screen is shifted to the right, then the screen is fine. If it is because of shifting to the right, it might be more of an app issue not hardware.

I've got this issue, seems to be software related for me. It renders parts of the screen (ONLY grey area in settings, only place where I can get this colour atm). I will try re-flashing stock roms and trying different things to see if this issue can be fixed.
It's the background gradient in the settings. A solution would be to find the image and replace it. You'll have to dig through some apks though.

Stop... MUFFIN TIME!!!
Its a Google software issue.. Alot of people have the same problem even if they don't realize it

If you look closely its on every Nexus 7, it's just Google being weird with the gradients.

Hi all,
I'm not sure what to call this issue and I haven't seen it before, please point me in the right direction if it's elsewhere, I honestly am not sure what to search for.
I noticed today that I suddenly have this odd "leak" of color in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Sort of a small patch of orange. Tried to take a photo with my Nexus 4 but it's quite hard to make out on camera. Any idea what this is? Is it definitely hardware? Reckon it can be returned? I haven't done anything to cause the issue.

They seem like semi stuck pixels.. try a pixel fixer from the market and see what happens.

Thanks for that, forgot to reply at the time but it seemed to help/fix it but it's returned now and doesn't seem to be helping.
I'll leave it a while see what happens before flashing new stuff, it it's still there I guess I'll try return it.
Anyone else noticing that when not in PERFECT lighting conditions pictures are blurry..
Yes - it's been driving me crazy... most of the time the pictures come out blurry. I've been messing around with different modes/settings and I cannot get a consistent clear picture. Pretty frustrating!
Take the sticker off the lense?

Yes, absolutely notice this. Brought it up in the other thread but no one thought it was worth checking. Have done tons of side by sides with Note 2 and honestly this camera is very touchy. Has a tiny field and it's often hard to see where that is in the pics. I really hope the camera gets a software update and it's not hardware because the camera has been the only thing I'm on the fence about. When you zoom in, even in good light, things in the taken pic get blurry and almost look like they have an effect.

Also, noticed right away. I thought maybe that I was just sleepy! lol, but what are the odds of a software update helping the issue?

Hopefully this new update that no one else seems to have gotten will help!!
Additionally, I feel that many times the camera has trouble focusing. Anyone else agree?

once i turned picture stabilazation off mine takes perfect pics
I tried turning mine off but seems the same.
Pictures in bright env. seem fine but indoors just flat out sucks.
I can hold my hand a little away from the camera a bit and it won't focus on it. If I tap to make it focus it sometimes turns green like it did but my hand is still blurry.
I hope they push a SW fix soon.
I don't understand it. How can you not catch some of this before release? Camera is a basic function of a smart phone...

Turn off image stabilization n see if that helps... dont think it has an effect on blurryness tho

May be an obvious question but has anyone tried some good 3rd party camera apps to see if it helps? Just a thought.
Also, here is another post discussing this issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717535&page=2

One thing I noticed with a Note 3: The auto-shake correct seems to do this. Try turning that off and it seemed to improve the quality.
Yeah I have this problem too, and just made a thread about it in the Q&A forum.

I really hope a update comes out to fix all this and it's not just poor HW :/
It's just sad that these basic obvious issues make it out the door.
They should have caught these things and I understand shipments went already but we should have had updates just waiting for us to fix em.
Oh well, time shall tell I guess. Sprint won't help I'm sure given how slow they are to push updates too...
Anyone mess with any video? How's that, clear, blurry mixture mess? lol
That prob has ability to be better or worse I guess. You've got 1080P mode and 4K HD, which when enabled seems to kill off a number of features.
I've not messed with it yet but just wondering.

You do realize Sprint is the best carrier in terms of updates.Just an FYI...
I simply dont get very good pictures in anything that isn't natural full daylight. Not necessarily blurry, just extremely grainy. But thats rather expected with most smartphones.

Im coming over from an iPhone 5 and noticed this immediately. The camera just flat out sucks!
My camera had a habit of switching to 6 mega pixels on its own for some reason. I have to constantly check to make sure it's still on 16 when I use it.
