Any of you that have just received 2.3.3 on your DHD's have build 1.72 (Android 2.2.1) before you updated?
Just curios to see if the earlier builds are getting the update to 2.3.3 first as I'm on 1.72 and yet to receive
Thanks

Hi guys,
some days ago, I flashed my Magic with the Google Ion Firmware.
Do I receive OTA Updates with that firmware or do I have to update it manually?
At the moment I have the DRC83 Build but I think the current build is DRC92 (isn't it)?
Best regards,
b!rust

I'm on the same ROM/build, and the answer is yes
Ok, thank you! But did you already get the DRC92 update?

Did a little bit of looking around, and from what I can gather the build DRC92 is an EU build and DRC83 is US.
I'm on a UK phone, but i flashed to..
signed-google_ion-ota-14721.zip (Android 1.6 rls on HTC dev page)
..using dferreira's guide in the dev forum. From what I can gather there is no difference between the builds, but by using the ION rom you should be able to get the 2.0 update via OTA when it's available from Google/HTC
Yeah, I flashed it the same way (I have also the same SPL xD). I just wasn't sure, if I get those Updates OTA.
So thank you very much for your (really very fast) comments. =)
Hehe no worries - dferreira told me that he's pretty sure we (Magic users) will get 2.0 via OTA, so I'd guess in the next month or so (maybe same time as hero).
And heh, emails go straight to my phone so i'm usually pretty contactable
Hi! I was just wondering if any users in the Philippines has already received the OTA 2.1 updates for their HTC Hero? I currently own a rooted hero and I still havent received any notifications. I tried to adjust the date as suggested here but still no notifications. I have a strange feeling that bec my phone is rooted that why i havent received it yet. Anyway, I hope someone here can help me figure it out.
Phone info:
Rooted HTC hero
Firmware version 1.5
Baseband version 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Kernel version 2.6.27-mck-teknologist-1.9root at neutrino
Build number MoDaCo Custom ROM 3.0 Core, SSH
Software version 1.0.0.A6288
Also, there no search for updates option on the Settings>about phone menu.
Thanks,
About 5 weeks ago my Hero (unbranded and unlocked!) got an OTA update for 2.1. Then i had a KPN sim. After that update i switched network to T-mobile. I wonder if i have the full 2.1 update now looking at the information:
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Kernel: 2.6.29-063c4d24
Build: 3.32.405.1 cl 191507
Software: 3.32.405.1
When I check with system-software updates the phone repiels with no updates available.
If i don't have the full 2.1 update how can I get it? Or, what can i do to install a custom 2.2 ROM with the actual firmware on the phone?
Thanks.
You do have it

Yes, you do. it says 2.1, that's a big hint.
I thought 2.1 has a two stage update. Because it says 2.1-update1 i assumed that i only had the first stage.
Am i wrong?
Hans
no you're not wrong you just misunderstood.
two-part update..
part one - boot rom update FW remains at 1.5
part two - update to FW 2.1
update-1 is just the revision number/version.
hope it helps.
Thanks!
Hans
Ok, don't think this has been asked before, but if it has - firstly very sorry and secondly I just can't find a clear answer!
- What do you need to be running to be able to receive and install the official 2.2 update when released on an O2 locked Streak?
Since buying my Streak I have subsequently upgraded from the official 1.6 to Steves 2.2 v 1.1 possibly 1.1.1, I'm guessing I have changed the baseband as I don't recall what it was originally (currently 20321-EU and the kernal is 2.6.32.9)
I'm guessing I will need to downgrade to an old official version of Android but what too, and with what baseband?
Thanks in advance fellow Streakers

2.1 official update 8105 + stock recovery base band 21-eu
Since nobody has actually been able to try it yet, nobody can say for sure what you'll need except that it needs to be unlocked v00 to get the earliest release.

This stock recovery baseband you talk about is that what I'm currently running - 20321-EU???
That's the O2 baseband, your update will be in December with the rest of us.

So does that mean I will still receive the OTA update without having to downgrade to 2.1 or 1.6 even with all the unofficial upgrades I've done???

Checked with CSL CS, and they said SE will launch an update to fix the NextG compatibility issue. Not sure if the latest 2.3.3 update includes the fix

fixed the problem in this firmware
Great. But still waiting for root for 2.3.3. Or is that possible to upgrade the baseband alone at this moment?
