Hi there sorry if this has been asked before but I flashed my phone to indroid 2.2 because I was tired of waiting for the official version to come out
but now I have a problem with my phone and I may need to send it off to Samsung for repairs as the power input is a bit dodgy
So I think flashing does break the manufacturer warranty, but is there a way to un-flash the phone and go back to the original 2.1 set up so the manufacturer warrant is restored or maybe making Samsung not notice
thanks for any help
dave
dude flash ddjg6 rom.........
Yes, flash an eclair rom, preferably the one with what the phone came with, eg. mine came with JG6.

Hi, just brought a Dream, but did anyone from Singapore managed to hack the dream to get the multitouch? Hehe
did you try the search function? I find it very useful!
you're not even a n00b...it hurts sometimes.
You will need JF's firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475381
Haha it is nt that i did nt found the hacked firmware, i am just afraid that flashing the firmware from the US side would create problems for my firmware which is stg RC8, plus if i want to send back my phone to repair, would i get the stg firmware.

it shouldn't affect your phone at all (except for the US numbering format) and if you want to send your phone in for repairs you could just flash the stock firmware back onto it. or just send it in anyway as i don't think changing the firmware voids your warranty.
please help im wishing to upgrade my offical rom from 1.43 to 1.48 but says my phone is not suitable??????im totally thick coming from nokia to windows,i did use search but was unable to find the answer.
thanks phil
Hello and welcome on board,
Can you post up the exact error message you are getting please?
Also read this thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477 which you will fond useful and come back with any questions.
Incidentally you are not a fool for asking as long as you have searched first.

hi mate thanks for the reply, when i go to the htc offical rom download,i'm asked to enter my serial number, which i do but says my device is not suitable and won't let me proceed any further??
cheers phil
got a major problem now ive tried to update to 1.48 but it crashed now i get a warning traingle on start up,and can go into bootloader screen and it says upgrade rom code error please try again???someone please help.i hope i havent bricked my phone
Is your HD2 branded? (bought it in combination with a contract?)
hi mate its on vodafone contract buts its not branded.
Hi again,
Have you tried to hard reset your phone to see if the old rom boots up again?
If it does not then you might want to reflash your existing rom onto your phone using the SD card method (look at the threads at the top of the Rom Development page to find what you are looking for).
If it works and you are still keen to upgrade the rom you need to read the threads on using either the Goldcard or HardSPL methods to upgrade.
Come back and let us know how you got on.
WB
hi mate i was having the exact same probs as the chap in the hd2 bricked thread, same messages etc and stopping at 9% i took there advice and reflashed the hpsl again which has worked a treat,i'm now a little dubious bout trying to upgrade as i don't fancy bricking it.
ive emailed htc to see why i cant upgrade from 1.43 to 1.48 seems odd it says my phone isnt suitable.
p.s thanks for the help mate much appreciated
OK, wait until you hear back from them. However if you are now up and running and have installed HardSPL, I think you will find that flashing a new radio on its own might help solve your problems.
I think if you look at the thread you were referring to (this one...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618084), IIRC, MysticGenius runs through a procedure for doing this that helped him sort out a similar problem.
Good luck with it.
WB
PS: Lesson learned here though is to read exhaustively on the topics on here BEFORE jumping in as fixing problems later can be both time consuming, if you are lucky, and a pain in the rear. As for that horrible sick feeling you get when you think you have bricked £500 worth of phone....wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy!

Hello, I've recently had problems with my HD2 touch screen..It is not responsive at all. I am planning to send it back to HTC for RMA + repair, however I'm pretty sure I need the stock radio + rom for it.
I have the HTC HD2 T8585 and I don't remember what the stock rom + radio are...I remember one of them being 1.66 or something..however I can't find any download links.. could somebody help me? Thanks
edit: I just got off the phone with HTC, they said I can't send it in for repair because I'm in Canada and I bought this phone from China.... -_-
does anyone know how to repair this problem? I cannot slide my unlock tab because the touchscreen doesn't work..i've tried reflashing and hard resets and pulling out the batteries..it sometimes work for a few seconds and it stops after that or as soon as i put the phone to sleep...

On the HTC website!? www.HTC.com ?
i've tried that?! but when i entered my serial number, it says the current download is unavailable for my device..!?!?!??!! -_-
Yes, same here.
My serial SH07GNW06558
Does this mean that this might be a bogus HTC?
SH07GNW06558 is not HTC HD2

Hi all,
I was hoping someone can help me with this.
For some reason, my phone is a Taiwan build (707) but came with an HK rom (721).
I found this out when I got in touch with HK due to being unable download
Ship Rom 1.36.721.3 (94538) WWE. They told me I have an unlicensed rom.
So if the phone came with 721 rom, but physical build should have 707, which one do you think is considered by HTC as my phone's original rom?
Your input is much appreciated
Cheers,
curiouser

Email htc and give them your S/N which is under the battery and they tell you about your original rom..... I did that some day ago.
Hi hazhysalon,
been dealing with HTC via online chat
thanks for your reply anyway.
cheers

Sorry about bumping this old thread.
But I've got the exact same isuue, and am curious what HTC told Curiouser [] about the awkward situation of the smart-phone.
May I ask what did they tell you Curiouser?
Hi,
The build is the rom, so TW in my case, and prob yours. Don't know how or why, but the reseller was able to put the HK rom on top of the TW one
It's ok, since you can still update the rom (I'm using nsourm still)
I forget the actual process now but you should be able to find the guide in the threads here.
I would advise you, though, that the process might revert the phone back to the orig TW rom, which is Chinese.
I don't know Chinese, so it would help you if you took screen shots of the process while it's still in English. That way, if it does go back to Chinese, the buttons remain in the same spot so you can still wing it.
Have fun.

Wow! Didn't expect a fast reply! Thanks a lot Curiouser! Both for the fast reply and the reply itself.
Hey guys, i new here soh, i don't know if its allow to post thinghs that probably had another post about but here we go.
Sorry for asking this but i've searching for a solution for days and guess ? i don't found nothing clear to give me an answer.
Ok, i had my zenfone 5 for almost 2 years, than lately he start to lag and stuff, soh i decide to change de rom. I unlock the bootloader and install the CM 13.1, the first hour seems to looks good, but some minutes after the phone just freeze and reboot, than i try another roms, RR( many Builds), the problem still going =/, now i'm using the Leopard black, and guess ? Yes the freeze still going.
after read like an animal for hours and don't find any clear information about this, i went here, and my question is: First, can i use any rom that its not the stock rom whit xposed and root, and berfore that lock the bootloader ? or its real necessary ?
Second, this freeze problem have a real solution?
Third: If all that i answer is no, some advice ? because i really don't want to use the stock rom...
Thanks Guys, and sorry for my bad english...
Sorry there is no solution for screen freeze issue as zf5 have different types of motherboard. You won't be able to boot(usb sign) if you lock the bootloader and have a custom rom or stock rom with custom kernel.
As I'm also facing the same issue my advice is flash stock rom (.540 kitkat is good as battery backup is nice) and lock the bootloader.

Hey there, if you are still facing freezing issues and have install stock rom then your device's bootloader is not properly relocked. I also faced same issues but after re-lock my zf5 is working fine... I will be needing following details so as to assist you further...
1. Current android version with firmware no. like .540
2. Fastboot version, to open fastboot type
adb reboot bootloader
Few months ago I was also planning to buy a new phone like you due to freezing issue... But I relocked the bootloader and now my zf5 is working fine, so I won't recommended you to buy a new phone if you are able to use zf5 more.
As buying a phone with major technological change is highly recommended but the phones available now and zf5 do not differ majorly.
But still if you need to buy a new phone(which I don't think is necessary) reply with following details
1. Your country
2. Your budget
3. Your typical usage
