Hi all,
Please i have a question :
Which (Nand) build in your opinion has the BEST quality sound/mic gain ?
i mean no dirty noise when recording your voice and a good volume call sound ?
Thank you !
Up !
No one knows ?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Well, I just started a thread about this issue a few days ago:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042051
Thing is, Android has an AGC (Auto-Gain Control) which is enabled all the time. That is the cause for the distorted and unclear recordings from the microphone.
I hope someone will add a feature in the ROM's settings to disable AGC when needed.

sorry if this is already on forum..
so.. when i was recording in the club with n95, e71.. sound was ok.. but with HTC HD2, sound is terrible!!!!!
is there some tip? tweak to reduce microphone sensitivity, etc??
thank you very much.
bump pls....
thnx
Another bump from me for this
Older PPC devices used to have a Control Panel setting for microphone AGC or manual level settings but I can't find anything in the registry that looks likely.
I've tried using the HD2 to record video at both a rock concert (very loud) and a folk concert (not very loud!) and both had good video but highly distorted sound levels.
Apart from sticking some blutack over the microphone, are there any other suggestions?

Same problem here.
With the n95 i had no problem geting good sound on my video when recording at a party with loud music. But with all my HTC phones i get crapy sound.
Is there any solution to this, exept asking the dj to turn the music down?
I know that this thread is old, but... has anyone found any solution on this?
I was in a Guns'n'Roses European Tour last night in Barcelona, and today i've been watching the videos. All videos have the sound distorted and useless, i'm very dissapointed on it.
I know that Samsung Galaxy S has the same problem , but seems that audiobooster solves it

Is there any similar on the HD2?
not only nokia n95 but iphone users enjoy very good sound while recording
on our HTC HD2 it's seems like the mic gain to much volume and alot of bass enter the mic
which cause bad sound like the speaker going to ripoff from the device
any suggestion?
Hello!
It seems like the microphone AGC does not work with MR2.
The recording is distorted if you try to record loud sound, and the recording gain seems to be set at a fixed level and not adjusted to weak sounds.
Yes, I have tried to activate AGC (Start-Settings-System-Microphone AGC). Seems like this setting has no effect at all.
I am sure that this worked prior to MR2, because I have some old recordings on the memory card that are nicely adjusted and with much better audio quality than now.
Could there be some registry settings?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi have the same problem... after update to MR2, the microphone don't work.
I am really interested to use Skype, after MR2 Skype works fine on my mobile...
Bump!
Anyone?

Confirmed. Video recording gives normal sound,
when recording in Notes for instance is distorted.
Yes. And it's very irritating because the recordings had very high quality with the first firmware version. And it't much better with camera recording. So it's not hardware.
Hi,
Is there any solution to increase earphone volume and call quality like in HTC or samsung by using service codes or any modifications?.
I think the volume and call quality in X8 is very low and poor.
If you are using cyanogenmod rom with working DSPmanager, turn on compression, it will give you a real boost

Does turning on compression improves in-call volume?

Absolutely useless advise. DSP does not work with earspeaker.
Having installed cyanogenmod7, also faced with the same problem - my xperia x8 has very low sound via earspeaker. I can hardly hear what caller is speaking to me.
then this must be your cell phones problem, not with the rom. I dont have any problem listening even on a busy road.
Try to clean your speaker of dust......
FXP roms over 028 and official CM71 rom have bug there - very low call in volume.
Hey Folks.
I want to know is their any app on Google Play that helps you to detect that other other turned on loud speaker while calling ?
Can any one give me an idea, if we program app like this, how do we detect that other person turned on loud speaker ?
Do we match audio frequency ? Detect Noise ? or any other idea that work good.
I am really thankful if any one can help me.
Thanks
Been looking to boost the loundspeaker such as it is found some guides about editting lines in mixer_path.xml, only thing is my file does not have the values that the guides have which is why I asking the question, anybody know how to boost the volume of the loudspeaker ? I know the risks about blowing the speaker so did not want to just add the lines that I found, any advice or an app that is known to boost the loudspeaker ? Thanks in advance
Nobody knows? Or is everyone happy with the loudspeaker volume?
Have tried a few volume boost apps but they don't cut the mustard
I know you can use Kodi for video and audio files and it has an option to boost volume. You can even get a youtube plugin for those of you like. As for app and games no idea.

Hi, if I may, the answer to a louder sound from built-in speaker, as my colleagues have posted can be achieved by Volume Booster, from omega Centauri, a gemini from an reader app they make. Note that to avoid damage it only boost mid frequencies, avoiding bass and high treble. The quality lowers. So, kernels like Perseus, Devil, Shift, I could name the majority, have customized the approach with algorithms that have names like Boeffla, Faux and many others important, that are drivers lile ALSA for Linux or kernel mode WDM for W. And now try a Note 2 N 7100/7105 with and without Boeffla and all will become clear, specially the effort of developers that we admire. Congrats. :fingers-crossed: sorry for the bad english included.
Thanks all for the suggestions, none of them give me a boost that makes it louder through the speaker, , I also forgot that you can boost the system volume with Viper4Android(which boosts the speaker volume fine on my other device a oneplusone), this also does not work on the Nexus 7,I will have to just live with the low speaker volume as I cannot get it any louder
