Hi guys
I have two HTC WinMo 6.5.x phones (Raphael and Rhodium) and of course I have two phone lines. But only one of them have an unlimited data plan so I want to share the Internet connection between these phones without killing my battery (that means I don't want to use WiFi).
What else can I do? I guess there is a way to use BT to do this but I haven't had success with this so far.
Thanks in advance for the help.
try a wireless tethering application such as pdaNet
http://www.junefabrics.com/pdanet/index.php
then have your other phone connect to the mobile hotspot through Bluetooth or wifi. If there is another wireless tethering application on your market i would suggest that because in my experience only the wired tethering portion of pdanet works for me on android.
The survey makes sense

I know this seems almost pointless...But I have both the Diamond 2 on att, with an unlimited data plan, and the Droid Eris through a pre paid. I want to know if it is possible to use the "Wi-Fi Router" on the Diamond 2 to share internet with my Droid Eris?
Ive tried a few times, and I think it might have to do with the Diamond2 showing ps as IBSS ad hoc connection.
Is there another way? or is it even possible to begin with?
The reason is just so that if I run out of data on the prepaid, I can connect to the Diamond2 if i really need to if im not near a wifi spot.
I dunno if this helps but I tethered my xperia to my blackberry by using the blackberry as a "bluetooth modem". I'm not sure if theres such a setting in android (probably)
Take a look, see if it can be done without wifi
thanks, but im trying to connect through my Diamond 2 and unfortunately android doesnt ask me what services I want to use when they are paired.
Android does not connect to ad-hoc connections out of the box. You need to root your Eris. But as far as I can tell, no one has figured out to root it yet.
I'm trying the same thing...
But my setup is attempting to use internet sharing or the WMWiFi application to share internet to the bluetooth of a Samsung Propel Pro to the bluetooth of an older Samsung Blackjack with no sim card. Just to get the older BJ to see the internet, but I can't see to get Bluetooth PAN working on the setup.
Is this possible to do? What am I missing?
anyone got an idea. this would be a cool trick to do. Cheapest VOIP Cheapest VOIP calls
i know that if u can put both connection to ur pc from wifi with both or to wifi with on and usb with the other. in network connections u can "bridge" the connection
I have two vogues, both have NFSFAN ROMs installed, but only one has data plan (the other one is just my backup phone), can the other once without data plan share the internet with the first one through bluetooth? For the one with data plan, I have successfully tethered my laptop through ICS over bluetooth, but I have no idea how to connect it from the other Vogue. The other Vogue could see Dial Up Network as the only bluetooth service (no PAN service visible) from the first one...
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
nobody seems to know the answer. Anyway, I used ActiveSyn over blue tooth to connect the other vogue to my computer, and it can connect to the Internet then.
I found somebody did the trick here, but I never got it working on the Vogue to connect the ICS service over bluetooth of the first vogue.
There is lots of information on tethering Android to PC/MAC/Linux but I am having trouble finding any information or apps that can do WIRED tether of ANDROID-to-ANDROID, such as a smartphone to a tablet. Anyone have any information on this?
I have the same questionnn
Other location?
If this forum does not have the answer to this question, does anyone know where else I could find this information? I have done numerous Google searches and can't find anything.
Why not bluetooth tether?
Wireless tethering is the only option currently available for phone to tablet tethering. Either in the form of Bluetooth or WiFi.

Have tried but unable to get both devices to connect. They see each other but can not connect. I must be doing something wrong!
I just came here to start a new thread on "wireless tethering" between 2 Android phones. Is it possible? I can't find any info on it. I have a Captivate with an Unlimited Dataplan and a Captivate without a Dataplan. The one WITHOUT the Dataplan is on AT&T's $50 Unlimited Talk, Text & Web Plan. The Talk and Text work just fine. I was wanting to use my Rooted Captivated with the Unlimited Dataplan to broadcast my internet over to the other phone when nearby. We don't have Wifi at home. I use the Wireless Tether apk all the time for a laptop, but for some reason the other phone can't see the signal. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, usually the wifi hotspots can support multiple devices access to internet at the same time, you don't need to use your phone as a hotspot.
Hello everyone!
So where I am living I cannot get reliable internet service and currently have Hughesnet (satellite isp) that I want to stray from. I have picked up a prepaid true unlimited data plan from Metropcs and want to use it as my default isp as the speeds are astronomical compared to Hughesnet. They are of course limited in usage for tethering and I would have to use a masking application and have chosen Clockworkmod Tether. What I want to do is run a USB dongle to my router (ASUS RT-N56U), connected to my phone (SAMSUNG-SM-G900A), running Android 5.0 with Clockworkmod Tether. Is this possible to do as the router doesn't have a sister application with the phone i.e Pdanet+ needs a windows application running to work?
All feedback is welcome!
So I found a video that kind of explains how to do so but I still have questions. With the process he is demonstrating the phone is using the wifi hotspot option to broadcast signal to the router. My question is.. with all the tether masking apps (PDAnet, FoxFi, Clockwork) you need to connect via USB to work. How would I get around this?
