This might be a strange questions, but is there such thing as a WM Emulator that I can run on my PC?
I am new to the PPC world and am trying to learn how to mod my device. However I am kind of scared that I will mess it up, or 'brick it.'
Any advice on how/where to start? I have searched but all the posts or help threads seem old and outdated.
I feel like I need a 'Windows Mobile 6 for xv6800 for Dummies' book!
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.
You can try Microsoft Device Emulator 2.0 (the emulator) and Windows Mobile 6 Localized Emulator Images (the ROM). You can also download Virtual Machine Network Driver for Microsoft Device Emulator if you need to connect to a network.
Hi all,
few weeks ago I deleted Windows and started using Ubuntu (nice OS), but it looks like it isn't possible to develop any applications for Windows Mobile.
Visual Studio 2005, Embedded VC++,... doesn't run under WINE.
I tried to use VirtualBox with WindowsXP, but it was terribly slow.
Is it possible to develop applications for WM under Ubuntu?
(Don't tell me to use dualboot, I want to have clean PC without some Windows sh*ts!)
Thanks
I would also like to know this.
you should trie Eclipse IDE!
If Eclipse doesn't fit, search for some of it's derivates.
There are several... many for Java, but also some for PHP (PDT) and
CSS/(x)HTML (Aptana Studio).
Hope I could help you!
If your VM is too slow,
start using a down-stripped version of WinXP!
(f.e. TinyXP -- nothing illegal, avail. via torrent -> u need a valid serial, of course!)
You can also create your own Tiny Xp..search fo a tool called
1. nLite For XP
2. vLite For Vista

Click to collapse
Check http://cegcc.sf.net
arm-wince-mingw32ce can be used to compile many wince programs
if you write/adapt the Makefiles
you can maybe make compact framework .net apps using http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page
mono
Actually, you should think of downloading WM 5/6 SDK and... using it with right cross-GCC.
Yes, I was right: http://cegcc.sourceforge.net/
hi guys,
I'm setting up an android environment on Ubuntu 10.
I have eclipse installed along with the Android plugin.
From synaptic manager, I installed openjdk-6-jdk.
All the components are inplace. However, the emulators start but seem to get into a perpectual loop and just display the android logo.
My hello world app or even the emulators user interface view never starts.
Is anyone familiar with this sort of problem? Please help me.
i use in windows

hello,
Please, is it There's a way to install Linux or simulate it on Windows phone (like cygwin for Windows)?
Thank you in advance for any answer or idea.
Yes, it is possible but you need Linux kernel compiled for your phone. See in other threads about getting Linux on phones.

HAReT - a tool that boots LINUX on your Windows MOBILE (I am not sure, that it can help if you have Windows PHONE)
