I'm currently staying here in Riyadh because of work. Every once in awhile, me and my friends went out. We went to Khobar that day, it was weekend here so we have no work. About 4-5 hours travel by car just to get there, so we have a few stop overs just to go to the cr, buy some drinks and get some gas. On the mid-way of you trip, we have this stop over on a gasoline station, i went to the other car to check for our other friends there. Then we continued our trip. After more or less 20 mins, i started to noticed that i can't find my phone anywhere. I didn't let my friends know it at first because i thought i just put somewhere in my bag. But after 10 mins of looking, my heart starts to beat fast. At that time i only have my phone for 2 months i think, so i was so nervous but i didn't let my friends see it through me. Then i asked one of them to please call my number so that we would know if the phone was on the car or not. Then he said that it was ringing but we are not hearing anything inside the car. Then he said that a saudi guy answered the phone, at this point i don't know what to do and i was so scared. Then i told him that if he's just only joking it was not funny. Then he handed over to me his phone and when i said "hello.." someone replied from the other side. I was so scared that the guy who found my phone will not return it to me anymore. Then he told us that he found my phone on a gasoline station. Then he said that we will meet on the next bridge. After reaching the next bridge at a speed of 180km/hr, we called the guy again. He said that he was waiting there for 10 mins and he left already. He said that we will meet on the next bridge again. At this point im completely losing hope of seeing my phone again.
When we reached the said bridge, we called the my phone again and the guy said that he was waiting there for quite sometime and that he was on his way to Dammam. We told him to wait for us at the road going to Dammam, then he told us that he was going to a wedding and he was on a hurry. Then he said that in the evening that day he will be in Khobar for the wedding and he will return my phone there.
I didnt enjoy the rest of our trip because im still worried about my phone. Then as soon as it get's dark, we called the guy again. And he said that he was in Khobar that time and we will meet. I'm still nervous at that point, but my friends told me that the guy will return my phone.. blah blah blah.. Then the guy told us to hurry up because he will be leaving soon. So we asked him to give us 3 more mins and we will be there.
Then when we arrived at the said place, we saw the guy on a Lexus Black 2008 edition i think. The guy handed the phone to us with out any questions.
I was so thankful that my phone was returned. And imagine, i dropped the phone in a gasoline station but then when it was returned to me there are no scratches or anything, thanks to my Piel Frama leather case!
Since that day, i never let even a split second that i can't see my phone. I promised myself to take care of it very well. I treated my phone as if i was taking care of a cute puppy.
As of today im still waiting for my Otterbox Defender Case to be shipped. And im willing to give my very best for my phone!

Great story, glad to hear you got it back. I'd be panicking loads if I thought I'd lost my hd2 and someone had taken it.
I was annoyed when someone stole my Sony Ericsson P800 back in the day.

Yeah! I think my chest was going to burst that time. That's why i'm so thankful to have it back again! Thanks for reading my story! And sorry for you Sony Ericsson P800. Hope you can post any unforgettable story about you HD2!
Mine is a bit lame, but over the past 2 weeks myself and my wife have been in hospital with our 3 week premature little girl in nursery care, during that time the HD2 was my saving grace, being able to stay on keep in touch with friends on facebook and general web browsing, take regular photos of our girl to update my wife while she was recovering from the surgery (c-section) and bub was in nursery, post online and send to family, uploading video to youtube etc. Everything is in this phone, there is not one limitation and thats what I love about it.

Wow! Very nice part done by the HD2 there. That's what i want to read. How HTC HD2 touches our lives. Hope you little girl will be fine and be a bright child! Congrats for that man! Cheers!

Since I got my HD2, my wife was on me about getting new phone and cost. all the way up until we were out and about and needed directions and needed to look up the store we were looking for. My HD2 came in like a champ. Yeah, I know I could have edone this with most phones, but for me, I like the flexability of this phone. and the size!!! I'm 6' 8'' and this phone fits me. Finally a phone that does not fill like I'm the giant in the room. BTW, I'm the normal one!!! the rest of you are muchkins!

HAHAHA Amen to that..... everytime I see a video of someone holding an hd2 it looks huge against their hand, when I hold it looks perfectly proportioned..... even if I do say so myself......

my misses has actually given me an ultimatum, she says i spend more time with hd2 so its either her or the phone...man i hate having to make decisions........

No understanding.
When I put the kids to bed obviously I have my HD2 just in case I need to check something.... My eldest daughter has now put a sign up outside her room "no telefon" she's only 6 still learning to spell.
Obviously my wife loved that and was thinking of getting one for the bedroom.
On a sad note my HD2 has been away getting fixed for 3 weeks (been using the old touch diamond which is still good) how they all laughed when I told them it had broke. Getting it back tomorrow hopefully.
p.s.
That's not my real name, if anybody saw this thread apart from HD2 owners we're F****ed. They wouldn't understand.
On a recent camping trip to the English Lake district,the torch came in really useful
for picking my way through the guy lines to find the toilet late at night.
Also was able to take photos and upload them straight to Facebook
so family could be kept up to date,was good to be able to use the router function
as well to run my laptop from a field awesome....

very nice! hd2 really comes handy in those kinds of situation.. almost anything you need in one device.. ^^

Didn't receive one here, but if I had, I would have no problem telling them what I really think about their locked bootloader policy, design flaws, etc.
100 bucks for an hour survey... I'd be all over that! ;p
unfortunatly, alot of people must of wanted to tell them what they thought of the Atrix, as I did the quick questions, and they stated that they already reached their quota for the survey..
out of $100, awwww man!!.. haha..
got that yesterday, tried to get in, but as soon as i said i didn't have the laptop dock they said "thanks we're full".

Samsung did the same when I bought my Galaxy S, they even called me up for some more details about my answers.
And got the $ 6 weeks later

this is how you should be running your cellphone bizness:
unlock the damn bootloader
let them have the kernel source
the devs are willing to fix the mess you created with the blur crap
if you need to save money somewhere then fire the whole team that does blur, AND the guy that decided to lock up the bootloader / kernel
go ahead and make like 1 phone that runs win phone 7 so microsoft doesnt come after you a55
I guarentee you this will work, and don't forget to give me a job after.

Per my answers, they stated they reached their quota.. hopefully you can get in, maybe they didn't like that I didn't buy the laptop dock, as that was one of their questions, if I had the laptop dock..

Yeah right, I'm sure they just want feedback from people who are actually getting the "full" experience this phone can offer via the laptop dock. But for the people who just wanted a really good phone they don't care to hear about it. Makes me wonder, is there anyone with the "tethering" package getting capped as well? I don't remember anyone specifically pointing that out....

By the way before you judge me I didn't steal anything, like I said I found it.
If I were you I would see a lawyer and discuss this. In Germany you wouldn't have stolen it but would've been guilty of "Fundunterschlagung" which is also a crime and can and will be punished.
Tracking a phone is not that hard, there's the IMEI for example. In the very moment you use a sim card your carrier will know the IMEI of your device. So if the owner of the device reports this the police definitely can track down this very phone.
In addition you should never forget that most supermarkets have cameras.
I guess I will save you and me a discussion about the moral implications of such a behaviour.

I will give it tomorrow to my carrier maybe they will find in which name it is registered and give it back to the owner.

The answer is yes. This was not abandoned property. imho, You have a moral obligation and perhaps a legal obligation to return the phone.

You should have given it to the supermarket customer service or manager or even hand it into a police station, im assuming it wasn't on when you found it (otherwise the owner would no doubt try and call the phone to see if anyone had it)
This thread makes me sad...if i lost my phone id cry and hope that the person that found it would have the decency to answer my frantic calls or hand it in to have it returned to me. Do the decent thing.

Seriously? If they find out you did that then you may well lose your job. As an employee your actions are not seen in the same light as a customer.
Look at the call log and call someone who's on there frequently. Tell them you have the phone and arrange to get it back to the owner. You'll make someone very happy and you'll save yourself a potentially large amount of trouble

You'll feel much better when you do the right thing rather than having the best phone in the world and thinking a person out there worked with their blood and sweat to buy that phone is missing his/her precious baby.. Of course return it. Not only you feel good when you see the owner's face thanking you and being re united with their handset but also you might get a little reward...But that is not the point you should of just gave it to your supervisor as that would of been the decent thing to do...
Imagine if the supervisor said "ok i will return it" and kept it for himself

CWM 5 issue

Be a nice guy and just try to track down the owner. Just check which Google account the phone syncs with and fire up an email.
If you've switched your own SIM into the phone, it's very likely the phone has sent a text message to a number the owner set up the moment you fired it back up. It's also fairly easy to track the phone via GPS, check call logs and wipe the phone remotely. The service provider can also track IMEI numbers on phones registered on their network.
More importantly, make the real owners day and let the poor guy have his precious phone back!

So yesterday I had to go to the Apple Store to pick up warranty for my Macbook. While I was there I had to use my phone real quick to pull up a confirmation number. The Genius/Specialist helping me, took a look at my OPO and asked what phone it was. I told him all about it: the company, the phone's price, build, specs, and mission behind the phone. None of them believed me that the OPO cost as little as it does given the specs, and its unlocked I even pulled up the website on one of the display Macbooks. I kid you not atleast 3-4 other specialists and genius bar guys took a look at my phone and played with it, they felt the Sandstone back and were amazed by the build quality. They all wanted to know how they could buy a OPO and one of the specialists even said "I wish Apple would do something like this with the iPhone 6."
Apart from the invite system, supply, and some issues with the Yellow Banding. The OnePlus One is a definite game changer.

After showing coworkers and managers my Nexus 5, and now my Oppo, along with their prices, the company I started working for which is 90% iPhones may be converting soon.
These phones are a absolute steal at the prices they sell them for.

So far I've got the two IT managers and my wife who want to switch to the OPO after seeing/handling mine. I figured this was gonna happen.
The phone's back is a feature in it's own self. Very unique and i've never felt anything like it before.
Next time. just rub it in their faces.

Yeah, the IT manager in my division basically pulled a double take on my OPO and then his jaw dropped when I told him how much I paid for it (and how quickly I received it - we're in China, so opposite experience as OPO ex-China, and Xiaomi *in* China)

The big question is.... did he ask for a invite afterwards?
But honestly, I think OnePlus should be giving out more invites and maybe even have a referral kinda system going on involving rewards. Its not much effort to impress somebody with the phone either, its so unique just by looking at it.
I think that's cool that they showed interest openly like that. I would expect the typical reaction from a Genius to be a barely discernable roll of the eyes and refusing to touch it because it's not Apple branded. The OPO is a very nice looking phone, I'm not surprised that many Apple fans will be interested in it.

They both thought that it was super smooth but one of them who has a note 3 thought that it was big but I didn't say anything as I was still shocked by him rubbing it on their face.
Plus one of them changed the profile on the phone when they were looking at it and after I got home it took me 30 minutes to figure out why I wasn't getting notifications for my emails.

this is just a little info i want to pass along that i learned from tmobile today. it's not meant to be an iphone vs. samsung thread.
i talked to a couple different reps today and they all told me the same thing. if you have a note 7 you can exchange it for an iphone 7 next friday. you cant do the pre-order because they would need to get the note 7 from you first before doing the iphone exchange. so you just take your note 7 into a tmobile store next friday and they will reimburse you for everything you paid for with the note 7 and you will even get your jump back. at that time you use the reimbursement to pay for the iphone 7 and use the jump that you just got back.
just wanted to pass along some info in case anyone else was wondering.
I'm pretty sure most people know this but thanks anyway. You can exchange it for any phone you want, no reason they would exclude the new iPhone. This is exactly what I plan on doing, I will be at the store at 10am on release day! Figured this is the best time for me to try out a iPhone, the timing is just to coincidental lol.
And, why downgrade to IPhone 7! Smh

That's your choice to make but just a small tip. Go to the store at 7:30 am on the release day. The stores here in New Jersey open early but they do not advertise it.

I work midnight shift and get off at 7am so ill swing by but I doubt they will open that early in Ga. Plus their are 3 T-Mobile corporate stores on the same street where I am so I'm sure I'll be able to get one on release day.

Let's use a little common sense when posting about an Iphone in a android based community. Honestly not many people in here would even care about that and to top it off why go to a phone that does less than what you have now. I know I know it blows up but you do know your chances of getting hit by a car are greater than your phone blowing up right now. I bet you still go outside and drive a car or get on a plane, etc..... You people kill me.

Thinking about going back to iPhone as well. I shouldn't have to compromise settings just for this phone to work.
As an Android/Samsung Fanboy it's a damb shame to have to go through all this.
The 6s Plus NEVER gave me any problems. Even with 2gb of RAM, it NEVER lagged. Hell, the battery was hard to kill with heavy usage (4hrs of youtube background play, fb, text, browsing XDA, etc).
I'm trying to give Sammy a chance but damn.. hopefully the results of these replacements can change my mind.

I think better comparison would be driving and texting or being distracted by phone in general: the same people panicking about faulty batteries think nothing of using the phone while driving and I'm guilty as well, just glanced at the map to check traffic ahead, same time as the guy in front stand on breaks, I barely stopped without hitting him and I drive a lot with years of experience. Probably more than 500 people die each yr. because of phone distractions. My phone charging station is on marble table in kitchen for years (convenience of multiple outlets at above waste level), accidently right next to smoke detector. Most likely it would be non event for me even if it burned to crisp. I put my life in much bigger danger when I'm cooking, but that's another story. As a side note advice, for those interested to buy iphone7, get iphone 6 instead put the tape on headphone jack and viola, you got iphone 7, you can thank me later.

Just placed an order for the jet black and was told it would be shipping in NOV lol, so i don't know what ever comes first new Note 7, V20 or iphone
Considering that the Note 7 is the most expensive phone T Mobile sells, it seems obvious that you would be able to exchange it for ANY other phone they sell.

Doesn't matter. At least 99% of iPhone users put cases on them. I'm not even sure why apple offers different colors...

Fair enough. It is at least 200% shinier than any previous iPhone, well, except for one.
Thanks for the info, I've been trying to the same, got no help at the store, went through 4 phone reps who refused to do it, and finally one gave in and pre ordered them for us. Wish they would've told us that we can just go get them at the store on Friday. They're saying that the phone is already sold out and that be shipments would come out in October or November

yea your best bet is to go into the store and get one. my local tmobile is opening at 8am and handing out tickets in case there is a line. they dont know how many they will have in stock.
i enjoy the people the bringing nothing to topic but come in to post to complain about others talking about the iphone. you act like someone talked bad about your mom. in the OP i stated this isnt an iphone vs android topic. yet some peoples blind loyalism cant understand that there are people that like both. there probably isnt many people that would care but there are some and this info was for them. there are already some in this very thread that said thanks for the info. i could care less about the chances. it's a recall, as simple as that. and this is definitely the place for the info. this is a tmobile note 7 thread. i'm talking about the tmobile note 7 in an exchange. doesnt get any more relevant than that.

Note 7 to iPhone 7 in a Android based forum OK real relevant in a forum with 100 of thousands of users your 2 people that think it's useful makes your thread useful. here's a question for you. if it's not useful to you then why did you comment in the first place? doesnt matter if it was 2 people or 100, it was still useful. did my original post some how say something bad about you? did it affect your life in some negative way? i just dont see the reason for your post. you brought nothing to this thread except to complain about me making a post and then say your not bashing. might as well said i'm bashing but not bashing. who cares if it's about the iphone. it's just a phone man. it's not that serious in the grand scheme of life.

yes i made a post because i was passing on some harmless information that might be useful to anyone interested. lol. like i said it's not that serious. i'm not upset, but this community has been getting worse and worse with members attacking or down talking each other over petty stuff. it didnt used to be like that.
