Heres what I did to get MMS working correctly with Lexlite Gingeraid 3.6 and Apex GB Beta on Cricket (GINGERBREAD ROM)
$45 Plan:
MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANY OF THIS:
Flash Apex GB
Download Autostart root from market
Download APN Backup & Restore from market
Backup current APN's and then Delete. Load the APN's attached and make sure to replace the X's with your 10-digit number.
Make sure you have adb installed and be sure to put autostart.sh, u2nl in your C:\android-sdk-windows\tools (may be a different directory for you) ( I had to upload them with .zip extension so you will need to rename it without .zip after downloading)
cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools <enter>
adb shell <enter>
mkdir /data/opt/ <enter>
exit <enter>
adb remount <enter>
adb push c:\android\tools\u2nl /system/bin/u2nl <enter>
adb push c:\android\tools\autostart.sh /data/opt/autostart.sh <enter>
adb shell <enter>
chmod 0755 /system/bin/u2nl <enter>
chmod 0755 /data/opt/autostart.sh <enter>
exit <enter>
adb reboot <enter>
Edit the build.prop. I use android commander to pull the build.prop located in /system. Once you pull it change verizons mcc number from 310004 to cricket 310016. Also you can rename the ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha to Cricket..Theres 2 places where you have to change it. The easiest way is to use notepad++ and then search for (310004) and then edit the file. Once you have changed verizons mcc number you can delete it from /system and then drop the newly edited one in its place. Once this is done reboot you phone.
Make sure you give Autostart root superuser access.
You should have working MMS on Cricket's network.

If your on the $55 plan you dont need the other stuff but I think replacing the telephony.db file should fix your MMS issues. Ill attach it here.
Delete the telephony.db file located in data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
Drop the attached telephony.db in data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases (Be sure to rename the telephony.db file you downloaded back to telephony.db before dropping it back into data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases)
Once this is done Reboot your phone and you should have working MMS.
I saw that 1 2. I'll try that... thanx

So I've seen this with both the cricket v10 and the cricket rom canidate 3. hen I try 2 install zip from recovery it says

It was necessary to remove it when upgradeing to the ClockorkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.

How can I fix that?

This is a flash that you flash from your recovery console in your phone, once you flash this it takes care of the u2nl and autostart and whatnot.
The part you are reading is just me stating what the flash automates.

AND I FORGOT to tell ya im on the HTC HERO!
Flashing using Amon-RA's recovery? Is Recovery a screen with a bunch of words on it, and it says RA-Recovery or Amon-RA Recovery at the bottom?
It *should* flash on Hero the same as Eris.
You could manually push those files where they're supposed to go.
FIRST do a nand backup from recovery. THEN...
Unzip that .zip file, take all the files out of folders in that .zip, and put them in your android SDK tools folder. So you want the following in your tools folder:
u2nl
sqlite3
autostart.sh
(eri.xml might not be the same for your Hero, that might be for Eris, but I could be wrong - but it's just the 'name' of the carrier anyway, not necessary for functionality)
Get Autostart from the market (from wifi, or find it on the internet, and download it, and put it on your phone from your computer)
Get APN Backup & Restore
Download some working Cricket APNs (see my link above, I should have a link to a working .xml file for that, put it on your SD card in the APNBackupRestore folder, or whatever the folder is called)
Open APN Backup & Restore
Backup APNs
Delete APNs
Restore APNs (select the Cricket APNs you downloaded and put in that folder on your sd card)
Then do the following from command line in your tools folder
adb remount
adb push u2nl /system/bin/u2nl
adb push sqlite3 /system/xbin/sqlite3
adb push autostart.sh /data/opt/autostart.sh
adb push eri.xml /data/eri.xml
adb reboot
Autostart should ask for root permissions, hit always allow
and you should be 100% fully functional on cricket.
Open that Proxy shortcut you have for your web to work, and make the server and port BLANK, you DON'T NEED the wap.mycricket.com port 8080 in there any more.

Thanks for the suggestions.
We got him sorted out in PM's last night, it wasn't flashing due some user made customizations, once those were corrected it flashed fine.
MMS still was not working for him but i have him trying from a fresh flash which i assume should work fine.
yea man and you dont know how appreciated i am..doing your new method of clean install and will let you know in about 30 minutes whats goin on.
Thanks again guys for your help!
I originally used the v2 of this script some time ago, and it worked fine until last night for me, then abruptly web no longer works for my Eris on Cricket--and I didn't change a thing.
Today I tried the v8, and there is still no difference...has there possibly been any change in the proxy IP or something? Or could I possibly have some other problem, such as a hardware issue?
Regular voice and wifi work correctly. Any ideas?

What version do you currently have?
Did it come with your rom or did you download it?
You can backup your settings (export) to your sdcard and restore (import) with the new version if by chance your settings are not preserved.
Im using CM 5.0.8 ,and it came with 0.8.9.
And how do i go about doing that export/import?
Either download link from your phone and install or download on PC put on SD card open file manager and install are easiest. Put it on a friends phone. Looks good. Backup and restore are in settings adw.

Do a search for ADW.Launcher in the Market, it's there. Just make sure you have a period in between "ADW" and "Launcher."
Hey,
I'm interested in updating the ADW.Launcher version that came with my CM5.0.8 rom, but I don't know if it's OK to update through market or get the apk file and use "adb install" or find a zip file to flash...
Could anyone make some light in here pls?
Thanks!
I have tried downloading the apk file for my CM5x and MDPI device from Anderweb's page but when I tried to "adb install" I get...
INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS
Can someone shed some light? Is there a way to update the ADW.Launcher that comes with a specific ROM version?
Tried using android commander?
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
Since I'm new to this scene, what is the difference between the "adb install" method and using the Android Commander (which I need install)?
Would Astro help in this case, because I remember reading that has support for installing apk files?
I'd like to do this update as clean as possible.
Thank you for the reply!
PS: I have actually installed Android Commander and installed the ADW.Launcher apk for CM5x MDPI as an Update (wasn't sure what to chose between Private, Application or Update) and the installer said it was successful but after reboot I still have the old version 0.8.6
Any ideas?
U can download it put it on your sdcard and install with a file manager. Doesn't matter which way u go. Should work. Done it both ways
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
I did it somewhat the way you said and installed it with Android Explorer as an update because the regular installation would fail with the error that the application already exists.
The problem is that the new version gets copied into /data/apps/ and I can start using it but after the first reboot it's not there anymore and I get back to the one that came with my CM5.0.8 rom which is in /system/apps/
I would really like to get a solution that would update the one in /system/apps/ which might be harder because it's a memory mapped version of the ROM and changes get lost after reboot.
Please correct me where I am wrong...
Have u tried goin to the market and installing it from there? It's like version 1.4.1 or something now
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
place the file on your /sd.
adb push /sdcard/filename.apk /system/app
restart home or reboot phone.
I ended up installing the one from Market and making that the default launcher, but I would really like to just replace the one in the system folder - no need to keep 2 versions of the same app
I'll try the method NetrixTardis was suggesting.
U can do it through the terminal as well. Maybe removing the old one will solve it. Use the rm command in the terminal and see if u can do it that way. Ex.
$su (enter after each line)
#rm /system/app/(name of app.apk)
Then u can use cp command to copy the one from your sdcard.
Cp /sdcard/(app.apk) /system/app/
Someone correct me if I'm wrong in the lines
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
hey johnson8cyl
I'll try that and let you know if it worked, should I copy it to the same name?
like /system/app/adwlauncher.apk is the name for the system app, while the Market installed one is org.adwlauncher....apk
do you guys know a good keyboard replacement and a way to configure the vibration alarm on my CM5.0.8? these are mostly the things I miss from my stock ROM
oh...forgot to mention the CM5.0.8 default camera does not have all the setting (like I can't set the ISO), is there one that does that trick?
thanks!
I'll answer the keyboard part. I've got Smart Keyboard installed and its a lot better than the stock Android one.

U have to use the names exactly the one your removing and one your copying. Names have to be what u want to remove or copy. That make sense?
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
Makes total sense to keep the same names only that I have this problem...
any ideas? kinda makes sense because that comes from the ROM and is mounted as read-only
# su
su
# pwd
pwd
/system/app
# rm -f ADWLauncher.apk
rm -f ADWLauncher.apk
rm: can't remove 'ADWLauncher.apk': Read-only file system
ps: I actually managed to fix this what was missing is "adb remount" to mount system partition read-write
So you figured it out? Were you able to get it removed and replaced?

Can anyone put this in a cw flashable zip or have one already? I need to get rid of the stupid popup that tells me my battery is full. It wakes me up and it seems to keep my alarm clock from going off sometimes!?
1. decompile/de-odex services.jar/odex
2. open "com\android\server\status\StatusBarPolicy.smali" in a text editor
find ".method private showFullChargePopup()V" about line 2779
and remove the entire method all of it from ".method private showFullChargePopup()V"
to .end method
and delete this line at about line 3441
invoke-direct {p0}, Lcom/android/server/status/StatusBarPolicy;->showFullChargePopup()V
3. save, compile and re-odex as necessary

What ROM version and theme? The services.jar file changes between roms and themes.
Blackhole 3.0 DL09
Oh my god! If you could also do this for me, or just tell me how or something ( I have no idea what the dedeoxin' does or anything) I would be forever thankful! haha
I have DJ05 Superclean JT rom
Its just an simple apk you can get rid of via root explorer or titanium backup or whatever.
In titanium its called FullBatPopupApp 1.0, I have removed it with no ill effects. The name of the apk in /system/app/ is FullbatPopup.apk

1. You need to have java installed for this. You will also need smali/baksmali
2. Open command prompt or linux terminal with your phone plugged in. Also navigate to or create a directory to perform the work in.
3. Once in your working directory, run:
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/services.jar
3a. If your system isn't de-odexed, you may need to pull an odex file as well
4. Take the smali/baksmali files you downloaded earlier and put them in the same directory that your services.jar file is in.
5. Run the following (assumes windows command prompt):
Code:
java -jar baksmali-<version>.jar services.jar
5a. If your system is not deodexed, you will likely need to deodex the system/services.jar for this to work.
6. Open the file required for the edit and make the needed changes.
7. Run the following (again, assuming windows command prompt):
Code:
java -jar smali-<version>.jar out -o classes.dex
8. Replace the classes.dex file within services.jar with the new classes.dex file
9. Push the file to /system/framework with adb, then reboot:
Code:
adb push services.jar /system/framework/services.jar
adb reboot
9a. You may need to remount the /system partition as rw to push the file.
10. On restart, the phone will take longer to boot, but assuming the changes were made properly you should be good.
I left out some information for the "a" steps on purpose. If you cannot do these steps yourself, or find how to do them, you likely shouldn't be doing this on your own. As always, backup your phone/data before trying this, and I am not responsible for any lost data, non-booting phones, or bricked devices. If you are unsure of what you are doing, then don't do it.

Removing that does nothing, already did it and I still get the popup.
Or just find the post with the hidden menu dialer codes and turn it off that way.........
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Even the hidden dialer menu does not always work either. Plus I thought the hidden menu was not accessible in DJ05/DL09? Maybe this is with certain roms?
yea I hate that popup. Ive removed the apk also and still it keeps popping up. A fix would be greatly appreciated!!!
The dailer codes worked for me. Using Blackhole 3.0. Just make sure you include the Hidden Menu when building your rom.

+1 on getting rid of this stupid pop up.
Man I hate that thing.
I posted instructions on how to do it. I'm not going to do the mod for everyone, so do it on your own, or ask the rom builder to include the change in the rom. There are to many roms and themes out there to try and accomplish this for every possible combination.
Hidden menu method would not work for me on dj05.
Changed it to disabled and it still pops up
I just went in with root explorer and mounted system/app as RW, renamed FullBattPopup.apk to FullBattPopup.apk.OLD and it did not get recreated after a reboot. I guess I'll have to wait till a full charge to see if it comes back.
I just used Titanium Backup to freeze FullBatPopupApp.
Will report back after I change my phone....

As I figured, freezing didn't remove the popup.
I went ahead and edited the services file, as specified earlier in this post. I followed the procedure provided by imnuts and did the edits as specified in the post by Nimhlan.
It appears to work like a charm. No more Full battery popups!
I would post my edited file, but I suspect it is dependent on what kernel/ROM you are running....
Do you download the smali 1.26.jar & baksmali 1.26 jar or just the baksmali & smali file in the link provided.

You need the *.jar files. However, I tried making the edit and I still get the popup.
Not sure if this is a known issue but I can't play mp3 files with the liberty rom. I was using grummy before this one and had the same problem. It says file type not supported if I try to play it. This is probably related but I can't play any songs off of Pandora or grooveshark. Any tips as to what's happening. I tried unmounting my SD card aand mounting it and tried using winamp still no luck.

did you come from 2.3.15 or 2.3.32/34?
If you came from 2.3.15, I think that is the reason. You need to update your kernel.
If you came from 2.3.32 or higher, I don't know.
I'm currently using 2.6.32 not sure what I came from. Is there a way to check without restoring my backup?

In "About Phone" what is your kernel version?
i had the same problem, u will have to flash back to stock, update your version then flash back over to liberty, thats what i had to do, and now it works fine
Ok I found a zip that says it will update my kernal can I just flash that instead of going back to stock?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I think you can just flash that, but I haven't tried it. You might want to ask @P3Droid on twitter if you are using his (TBH) .zip.

I did that trick and it bricked the phone so I just had to end up flashing the phone back so....... I would just flash the phone and save it self some time.

If audio isnt working, then i am 100% surr e you are/were still kn 2.3.15 update. I was in the same boat. If you really want to stay on your current version, let me know. I have the files that will fix your issue.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
NOTE: These files are only useful if you are on the 2.3.15 OTA from Verizon and are running Liberty or GummyJar 2.5
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP OF YOUR PHONE BEFORE DOING THIS! I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PHONE IF YOU MESS IT UP
Take this zip file that is attached, there should be two .so files under the /system/lib folder.
you will need root explorer to do this most easily. If you don't have root explorer, you can use adb to push the files to your phone.
Open a command prompt to the directory where you saved these files and enter the following commands:
adb shell
su
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
**KEEP THIS FIRST WINDOW OPEN
Open a second command prompt window and issue the following commands:
adb push libbridge.so /system/lib/libbridge.so
adb push libLCML.so /system/lib/libLCML.so
Go back to the first command prompt and issue the follow commands:
cd /system/lib
chmod 644 libbridge.so
chmod 644 libLCML.so
Go back to the 2nd command prompt and enter the following:
adb remount
adb reboot
Your phone will now reboot, and once it has booted back up, you should be good to go!
Good luck and enjoy!
I have this same issue but it doesnt appear to be related to firmware. My handset is on 340 and MP3's play when on the stock rom but fail to do so when on Liberty 1.5.

My guess would be just a bad install unfortunately. I would use the Liberty Toolbox to backup your apps/data and then backup any other info you made need (contacts if not synced to gmail, etc.) and then do a re-install of Liberty 1.5
See if this helps out the problem, as I have seen this work before. I have had a few issues when coming from different ROM's and then going to Liberty 1.5, a fresh install over the top helped me.
Does it play any sound at all or just mp3s? That seems like an odd bug. Did you try using winamp or doubleTwist to see if that fixes it? Maybe go liberty apps setting and install the music add on. Maybe that will help. Good luck.

Thanks, but I can't get shall I flash these files over my Liberty 1.5 or get back to other ROM (which one exactly?).
Does anyone have the unified email client that comes with the atrix?
If yow will delete the thread because there's another one with the same request/solution, please direct me towards it! I've searched the forum and I couldn't find any.
Go here and download the bloatware file, just pull the apk from it and push it to your phone.

Thanks a lot!!
Dumb question, which one is it? I'm guessing messaging widget is just a widget (and won't install).
I would grab both and push it to your phone.

sorry for being unclear, there is only one with "messaging" in the name and that doesn't install. there is no other file with email/messaging/mail in the name. thanks for your help!!

I guess what I'm saying is, grab the messaging.apk and use adb to push that to your phone
HTML:
adb shell
su
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /system
exit
exit
Then:
HTML:
adb push messaging.apk /sdcard
adb shell
su
cp /sdcard/messaging.apk /system/app
reboot
Or, if you have root explorer or some other explorer, do it thru that, just move it to /system/app.
You will want to reboot after installing it so your phone can initiate it during boot.
Thanks for your help! Unfortunately the file you pointed me to only contains the widget.
If anyone could extract the messaging.apk from his phone it would be awesome!

My bad bro.. here ya go.. the UniversalInbox.apk is in there, just grabbed that off my phone... not sure if that's the only file you need, let me know if that works or not and I'll up some other Blur files that might work..

Thanks a lot for that... but it wasn't the thing I was trying to ask for . The default build has a messaging app in which you could access all the email accounts, the sms, facebook etc

Messaging.apk is the one you need.
The widget is called MessagingWidget.apk
I've attached it... just remove the .zip from the file name.
someone uploaded before I could.. doh!
