Hello. I would really appreciate help on this one.
I recently got an HTC HD mini T5555, OS version: 5.2.23103.
After performing hard reset everything on the cell works perfectly.
However, after a software installation, the volume buttons won´t make any change to volume when pressed.
The volume controll dosn´t even show up in the display. Now, If I perform yet another hard reset,
(the software installed will be removed) volume will be changable again.
The software itself has a built-in function for listening to music, making cals etc.
From within the software you can change the volume using its own controls (not HTC volume control).
That works fine. I´m sure there is a way to fix this in the registry. Anyone got ideas or useful advice?
Thanks in advance!
its a software related problem , not hardware. If you let us know what app it is, we could help, pls give more info.
Ok,
The software is called "Handi".
"Handi is a program tailored for people with cognitive disabilities.
The most fundamental difference between the Handi and "normal" hand computer program is that Handi-programs have far less information and less choice per view".
I have no experiences from other hand computer programs but assume they all work the same way.
Need more info? I´ll try to give you as much as I know about it.
Regards /Anders
Hi, I don't know why you have this problem, maybe an incompatibility with some other software. Maybe you can also ask this question on the dedicated HD Mini forum.

I forgot the link, search with google.
Download the .cab file and put on you PPC. Tap on it and everything is going well.

maybe i didn't make my self clear.
i have a problem with SPEAKER PHONE.
i can bearly hear it! the same volume as regular earphone!
i was wondering how can i fix it?
Yes,
The quality of speaker phone on O2 XDA II mini is not as good as my old Nokia handphone.
But, you can try to edit the registry with PHM Regedit. It does help in sound quality (but not perfect). I forgot which registry need to edit. But you can find on this forum threat.
Make sure you also set the speaker phone mode (press phone button, green one, for 2 seconds).
Make sure the volume is high enought.
Hope can help.
Best regards,
Arto
thanks for your help, But i couldnt find the Tweak needed in the registry....

Dude what are you talking about. Nothing you have said makes any sense. The only know registry edit for audio is the one related to the normal earpiece - not the speakerphone. And that one is not reallt any use either.
The bad speakerphone on the JAM is known problem. And there is no soultion so far.

The good news is that you're not the only one indeed - I have the same problem. The speakerphone mode is exactly as loud as the normal mode. The bad news is that I also do not have a simple solution.
In another forum, several people reported the same problem after they upgraded to the Radio Stack 1.05 and restored their previously backed-up data. A hard reset (some say: re-applying the radio stack upgrade) seemed to cure the problem for them. However, restoring a backup after that made it re-appear.
I did the upgrade, but not a restore. And now I also have the problem, so I guess it's some software overwriting some setting. Unfortunately I have no idea which. :-( Before the update the volume was a lot better.
Will try a hard reset tomorrow, and see if I can find out anything.
Cheers,
Daniel
"fixed"
ok, this problem was resolved after a HR, but!
as soon as i try to do SPRITE RESTORE for the new BACKUP (which i made after the HR) the volume comes back down!!
so!
no usefull fix..:-(
Hi,
I'm looking for a too that allows me to assign a hardware button of choice that starts/stops recording an phonecall.
I'm really looking for a lightweight tool that can do it.
I know notes can do that, but that takes too much actions to start recording.
I just want to be able to record a phoneconversation quickly as soon as I think I need to record it.
Thanks in advance
how can one record conversation in notes?
what is the procedure?
I still didn't findany tool as requested in the initial post.
Any ideas?
why do you expect an answer to your question when youre not answering yourself?
1. I don't know the answer to your question (I saw it somewhere else on the forum tough)
2. Your question is offtopic.
Btw, you didn't answer on my question either.
Please help me out if you have the answer to my question.
In your first post you said that you know how to record a phonecall using notes but that takes too much actions to start recording.
And then I ask you how to perform that and now you say that you don't know how to do it.
I'm sorry but I don't know the answer to your question but you know the answer to my question.

No sorry, in the first post I said that i KNOW it's possible with notes but I don't know that procedure (not interested in that procedure either).
I'd like to start recording phonecalls with a single press on a hardware button.
Still I didn't find an answer on that.
Maybe some else please....

That looks interesting indeed, but it seems you need to sign up for some kind of service to use this....

It does, but PMRecorder is free - why not use it?
I just tested PMRecorder. It's an OK piece of software does exactly what it says it would, however due to hardware limitations of PPC described in the link provided by menneisyys, call recording is only available with speakerphone ON and even than record quality is pretty low.
Too bad
I just audionotes. and set it to the memo button. Once a call comes in I can hit that button. I guessing may take about 3secs to fully load and then just answer the call. Works great with no problem. Don't need to use speaker phone. I tried it just using the phone, with the wired headset and the BT headset and al work pretty damn good. Although the other side volume will be about 30% lower then yours still can hear them just fine. But from my own test I wouldn't expect to record a conversation over 35min long. For some reason it ended around that amount of time on me but yet I still had tons of space left.

Hard to believe it worked. I too have a Wizard (G3 - do you have a G4? Anyone knows whether G4 no longer has this problem?) and a Universal & also tested a MDA III in this respect and am absolutely sure none of them make it possible to record the other party.
Are you ABSOLUTELY sure you've listened to the right recording with the wired / BT headset test?
I have no idea wehter I have a G3 or G4 so if you know how I can checc for you I'll be glad to let you know.
I've tried it many times and it continues to work. Especially since I never talk on the phone itself. I always use a headset (wired and BT). So there isn't a way I could get it mixed up.
Now I remember something from another thread that 1 person was having problems installing the app. After installation the programs works fine but the person couldn't activated it. Maybe that is required not sure.
I'm currently using version 1.11 and I noticed there's a 1.15 version now.
Also I notice this on their page:
Windows Mobile Smartphone
Best for using with Windows Mobile 5.0
Note that phone calls are recorded only on WM 5.0 Smartphones. We recommend you to start recording phone calls after you have pressed the answer button.

Which is wierd to me. I always started the recording prior to calling or answering.
And the PPC version reads:
Windows Mobile 2003 (SE)/Windows Mobile 5.0
Best for using with Windows Mobile 5.0
VITO AudioNotes does not record phone calls on Pocket PC due to operating system restrictions.

Now this is something I find interesting after reading this. After soft reset the phone boots up and even says PPC. But yet I mremeber Cingualr always called it a smartphone instead of a ppc when they first got them.
Hi All,
I was wondering anyone out there is experiencing the same issues as myself and hopefully can tell me how to correct the problem.
If I install a cooked WM 6.1 ROM (could be any number of them, ceM, NIAX, etc) the volume through the earpiece (not BT headset or wired headset) is terribly low (to the point I can't use the device). I have configured the volume to be FULL (high) but still it's impossible to hear.
If I install the OEM WM 6 ROM from HTC (or Dopod) the volume is A LOT louder (but not necessarily great quality).
Can anyone tell me where the settings for volume might be contained in the Registry or otherwise? I have tried various changes under HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\ but nothing seems to flick the switch, so to speak.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
WC
+1
Almost same problem here!
I wish to rise the volume of the internal speaker!
It is a matter of registry,or what?
Thanks in advance.

thnks
thanks for sharing
I'll let you know...
Masalism,
Thanks for your post, I have given it a shot and get the following result. The volume is definately louder, but I have no volume control with the jog dial on the side of the phone. Also the quality in the earpiece is quite distored, possibly from the volume......?
Many thanks for your suggestion, if you have any other ideas, I'm all ears.
(to the Mods, apolgies for posting in the wrong section)

Update:
Hi All, I have discovered that "Schaps WM6 4.30 ROM" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355506 has, for me, the best volume level and control.
Just thought I'd share my findings.

WangChung, still the problem remains! Anyone know how to solve this problem without trying several Roms?
incoming ring
Additionally - I hear no incoming ring whatsoever in the earphones. The phone is ringing according to its settings, but I do not hear it independent wheter or not I am listening the audio player (core, win) or not.
im in the same boat i guess
Hello everybody
I can't find anywhere the information I seek: is the multiple keypress enable in the Nike?
I mean pressing more keys at once.. this make unplayable almost every game: for example, in Skyforce I can't fire while moving.
I'm quite disappointed, due the fact that I can play those games (even emulators) on my old Nokia 6630 but not on an expensive device like this.
Do you know about any program that can solve the problem?
Thanks
I think no, have same problem on my niki.
May be this is ROM problem, because S200 work fine
I have the same problem, what can i do?
Hi people i have similar problem with Energy 13.May 2010 WWE Rom (OS 5.2.23569). I just sometimes does not volume control in WMP at all in the actual system volume control is, in turn, sometimes not, sometimes the phone is absolutely no sound (only heard a slight noise) and sometimes the volume is off or not. The problem is that I have had enough of mobile applications by using a hard reset and install additional software, I really do not. I would like therefore to ask if anyone knows how except hard reset to solve it. Alternatively, the software would be something like this could cause. Until now I had no such problem. Thank you for your advice.
Sorry for bad english. Google translate
