Blue tint on EVO screen - EVO 4G General

My evo has this really weird blue tint when ever the sun hits the screen. Is there any way software wise to fix this.

Just install one of the apks (not all work on CM7) - CM comes with the needed stuff baked in.

[Request] Camera button

I was wondering if its possible to remap the camera button away from the track ball and to the volume rocker. This will make it easy to take those self portrait pictures with friends than guessing where the shutter button is on the screen.

I believe he means in terms of every single thing working properly, and the speed being up to par with say a stock Nexus One. I thought to myself that I would never switch from HTC Sense.. but the quickness of Cyanogen is just too nice to withdrawal from. Once we literally get the Desire on our phones (you know what I mean), I will go back.
Opening apps just feels so speedy on Cyanogen mod! I really just can't revert... As much as I want to...

Evo LED Notification Color Hackery!

A little hard to see the colors on the video. Any chance you could explain what's going on?

Sorry for that, sure- The LED Notification colors are now changed to multiple colors if you look closely, they aren't green or red anymore, pretty limited but still kinda cool.
You may have to watch it full screen to get the full effect.
As i was in need to charge to my phone, i also had noticed the LED light for charging was different as well! This is really cool...check it out
well can someone tells us how we can make this happen???
not really sure yet, my friend who had done this to my phone hasn't been around, ill find out asap
This is pretty cool but I think its worthless to post if your not asking how to do it or showing us how to do it. But great hack!

That's for the right-side LED... the video in this thread shows the colors changing on the left-side LED. It would be really nice to be able to control both, set different colors for different notifications, etc.
Yeah I had that since winmo 5 lmao

Hmm well since your not sure what exactly your friend installed I'm ruling out the possibility of it being an app, The other way I think of how he doing that is figure out what file governs the led color change it's probably an edit.

If it is an app then finding out how it's done would be even easier, all he has to do is post screenshots of the apk's in his /system/app folder.
I'm pretty sure we have confirmed that the physical LED can only do two colors, red and green. So it must be a hardware hack.
Not sure how to install it on the evo
Check this thread out if you want to physically change your led's to blue or completely different color..this requires taking evo apart and and swapping the led's if you feel confident enough..I remembered seeing this thread and thought I'd post it.

Gingerbread enables 32-bit colors on our EVO screens!

Title says it all. I can confirm that gingerbread renders everything in gorgeous 32-bit colors!!!!!!
For example, the weather channel app would look like crap, now it looks great.
Wallpapers look STUNNING.
Press and hold the home button to open the recent used apps menu, notice how the black blackground is blending in so nicely. on 2.2 it looks like crap.
Edit: Screenshots up. XDA Adds a lot of compression to both photos but you can still tell the difference.
Cant wait to see this
anyone else able to confirm this? and what program did you use to determine its rendering in 32bit? just wondering
This is correct....

ha I remember you talking about this on IRC.. Good find!
That's freaking amazing! I can't wait! Are you running gingerbread on your EVO?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I don't understand why this required Gingerbread to resolve it? but i'm looking forward to no more color banding in wallpapers either way
as a graphics guy, this is probably the best bit of news to come out of the whole gingerbread smorgasbord of news...
utterly awesome!
Yes, I was running gingerbread alpha 3. It's still pretty buggy and with a lot of things missing so I just went back to stock 3.70.

I also just wanted to clarify that our EVOs always had this capability, but only Android 2.3 renders everything in 32-bit color. It's all software.

I went ahead and flashed the alpha 2.3 and honestly saw NO DIFFERENCE in color reproduction.
I know all the places online say the gingerbread renders in 32 bit but I believe its only certain apps and screens that are actually in 32 bit. I could be wrong though
sent from my DAMN EVO
I'll rephrase my response, since it wasn't what I meant. The evo 4g isn't capable of displaying 32-bit color.
And my response wasn't meant to be disrespectful. I'm simply asking for a source isn't of just saying that he used "his eyes".
Hmm, can't see the difference, must be my display.

Use it a little bit more and you will certainly notice the difference. For example, check out wallpapers and how there is NO color banding effect.
I wouldn't have posted if I had not noticed such difference. Again, it's a subtle effect most apparent in apps like the Weather channel. If you're in doubt, run it on gingerbread then do the same on Froyo, then come tell me you can't see a difference.

Possible leaked HTC M8 Screenshots and Device Photos

I am attaching a possible HTC M8 screenshot (source: @evleaks), reported here. Let's hear some feedback. What do you like/dislike?
Personally, I like the onscreen navbar vice the capacitive ones on the M7. I do wish HTC would update their lockscreen icons (phone, messaging, etc), they look so outdated. I would like to see HTC provide more icon sets that can be used on the lockscreen.
Update 2/12/14: Numerous screenshots and device pics have been added. If anyone has new pics or info, please post them! Thanks everyone!
I personally prefer the capacitive buttons but I could live with onscreen buttons I guess. I don't really care how bland the UI looks, I'm hoping for some hardware goodness like improved speakers, battery life, camera, quality control, etc etc. If they nail the hardware they could just completely botch the software for all I care, that's what custom roms are for
I prefer on screen keys. You can customize them better, and makes immersive mode so much better too.

I totally agree. The more I look at that pic, the more I anticipate the M8.
Just thought I'd add a picture to the rumor mill, as it's one I hadn't seen yet...
Shows off the dual camera.
It will come with a twin-rear sensor camera. This will give the camera better focus and depth of field and image quality.

Thanks for the pics Santod! Being this close to a possible launch of the M8, I'm becoming more confident that we are indeed seeing photos of the M8 and UI. Also, anything that's posted by @evleaks I tend to have more confidence in, he's very, very good when it comes to HTC leaks. We shall see the truth before too long!

finally...
i already noticed a bug -> if you go into camera settings such as ADVANCED or RESOLUTION & QUALITY, i can't seem to navigate back if i click on the text on the top left of the screen...it only goes back to the previous screen only when i tap on the camera icon w/ back arrow. not sure if that was intentional...hope that makes sense.
so far good list of features and navigating is infinitely a lot better than previous UI. Lens Blur seems to be interesting...still testing that feature out though.

I hope they hotfix it and make that bezel transparent similar to how it was. Other than that it seems to work pretty well, have to try out lens blur.
