i woke up an hour later = not working at all
On Froyo, with automatic date/time in settings my phone updated the time.
Yes also automatic and it worked perfectly

Err, yes of course. This it's not an iphone
Sent from my GTI9000 using XDA App, gingerbread 2.2.3 rooted, ADW launcher + gingerbread theme
Worked like a charm. No problems whatsoever.
Likewise tick tock new oclock at 1am .
jje
It worked quite nice with me.
What was more impressive was that when i set the alarm Saturday evening, it was already taking it into account. As an example, i set up the alarm for 7:00 at 00:00 and the small popup showed "this alarm is set for 6 hours from now"
Impressive stuff!

Hi
I got the sgs gt I9000
A few frinds told me that I sent them smses more than once, after we finished owr chat.
For ex: I smsed my friend yesterday at 00:00 4 smses. The device turned off at 07:00 this morning, and sent them again to her wheb I turned it on.
I didn't find any connection between the time I sent the sms to the time it was turned off.
It's like the sms is still in the outbox, after it is already sent, and when I turn the device off/on it sends it again.
Anyone knows about this kind of a problem?
Its round 4 smses a day, it's round 120 a month, in $ it's an exra 20$ to the monthly bill...

Telco sms server did the resent in my case, not the phone

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
He said telco - your carrier.
Ok, thanks, I'll talk to Orange.

Ok guys, I talked to my carrier. They checked stuff from their side, qnd all is good.
Also, o checked if the problem accure with my e71, and I don't experience the problem with it.
That means it something with my sgs.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
D.

It might be the background MOSAD app playing up ;-D
If you use another app for sms try uninstalling it and check again...
Also check the last apps you installed before the problem appeared

Hi
I'm using the original app for sms, I like it a lot.
I uses Handcent, but thought it was the cause, so I uninatalled it.
I even uninstalled an app I used for popup sms.
All was b4 I wrote the post.
What I think ia left to do is reflash, and install app by app, to see what causes it. But it's a very long procedure.

Why do you turn your device off in the first place?

lolz. touche. also from the title the device definitely sounds possessed, but now I've gone off topic.
I change the batteries in my device once a day so I don't over-cycle/over-stress them, it happens to give the dual purpose of a reboot which is good for the phone. Turning the phone off has its places.
looks like the same poltergeist as mine, infact random clicks often sends sms or gtalks just a matter of luck
so I've managed to get so far 250 hours and counting up time without reboot. post update and root.

Haha good one, whats that like 5 hours
On topic however i never get more than 72 hours b4 the phone either the market stops working or the menus lag up a bit then i restart it and then it's all fine.
My phone is rooted, with no real mods yet...
i can get up to 10 days, advanced taks killer does its job sometimes market forcecloses but it instantly comes back and works perfect. 2.1 generic with oneclick

I reboot once every 4 to 5 hours, I think I have OCD... just reboot for the hell of it.
I got like 2 weeks once...LOL
with 1.6 over 40 Days
I have one trick, name "Fast Reboot" (Android Market App) helped with menus lag and others
with 2.1 no stats for now because of: JIT, Optimiser, 2.1 Custom rom etc
just a weekend xD
use a lot of apps so they drain my battery really fast and sometimes it kinda overheat
Record is 214 hours, by that time the phone was slow as hell..
But that's on 1.6, trying to beak the record on 2.1
How you get those numbers!!! I can't even pass the 30 hours barrier I got a x10a with x10i firmware and rooted no hardcore mods
Please put more tips or how you get over 200 hours
Thanks

They're not talking about battery life.
If you're using the phone normally, there shouldn't be a reason to reboot unless you feel like cleaning out the RAM and starting fresh or there's something that can't be forced closed. With my old phone, I'd go months without turning it off. No reason to.
Oh I get it
Thanks
Btw can't remember when was the last time I reboot
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
Currently my uptime on 2.1 is 329 hours (not needed to reboot it since the initial upgrade to 2.1, still running prett snappily !)
Most interesting is the battery life, currently 48.5 hours and still 29% of battery life !!!! And that is with GPS, 3G, Pop email and widgets all running plus just played a 30 minute session of Angry Birds !
on 277 now.
but I reckon its.time to think about loading a custom Rom tho.
let's support the hard work.
peace

Just upgraded to the last Hyperdroid and its all happy days except for one issue. I usually set it to auto time setting. But all SMS messages are 2 hrs early. I'm on GMT+2 (Norwegian winter time).
Cheers.

Hey guys,
I live in the uk and went to Bulgaria for 16 days. I left my S3 home and took an older phone with me. Didn't want my samsung stolen, etc.
So, before I left the house I charged the phone up and left it in airplane mode.
I got back more than 2 weeks later to find the phone still on in standby mode with 48% of battery left. Meaning that it could go for about 34 days in airplane mode with one charge.
I know we can't do much with this info but I felt the need to share it.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
That's awesome. My sgs2 can only make it for about a week in airplane mode, with a 2100mah extended battery.
Are you using the stock ROM? Looks like touchwiz icons from the screenshot you posted.

Cool info man. Nice to know that.

This is completely useless... But very interesting ha ha
I wonder how long would it go without airplane mode on

There is absolutely no way it could go that long with the radio on. Mine was in airplane mode.

So in order to get great battery life all we need to do is never turn the screen on and never use it as an actual phone, great find!
I bought my s3 from cex (a popular exchange chain here in UK) and when I got the phone it was at 8% charge with 34 days of standby. The phone was left on, without sim card inserted, but with WiFi on, even if wasn't connected to any network. I thought it was pretty cool as the same happened with a one x I bought two weeks before, always from cex, and in the same condition the HTC was on 8 days standby time when it discharged completely in my hand

Nice!!!
Actually there is a point to this...
I think that this is a very interesting post. Why?
Because I suspect that for most people, there are times of the week when they don't actually use the phone or even need it available to take calls but (like me) don't want to have to turn it off at night and turn it on again in the morning.
So, using a tool like Llama, you can set your phone automatically to put itself into Airplane mode at night and to reconnect in the morning - so extending your stand-by time.
(Note: I actually go further than this - and put mobile data on only 3 minutes every 30 when screen is off. And I get great battery time - or would do if I didn't use the screen so much!!)
P
Too many wake locks
《swagged from aokp》
Well, I have lots of apps installed. Could have last much longer after a factory wipe I guess.

ggresso are
lol, pretty impressive.
My old smartphone with data and radio off could last about a week at most.
I use Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 on my One.
When I woke up this morning, I wanted to mute all the coming alarms (I have a lot ) quickly so I can go out and smoke my morning cigarette.
So I shut my One down, go out.
When I came back, my One was ringing (alarm clock) and I was kind of surprised, given I remember shutting it down.
So I made a little test and... BOOM ! Alarm ring even with the One shut down ! It boot up the phone and ring !
So cool. Thanks HTC.
Does it works regardless of fast boot enabled or not?

Didn't have the time to try it, but I already posted this on reddit under r/htcone and someone comfirmed it works without fastboot too
I found out this morning too!!! I had the phone turned off and it turned on for the alarm and after that it asked me if I wanted to turn it off again, leave on the phone with airplane mode on or off!
I'm on stock 2.24 rom and fast boot off.
Does it work with 4.1?

Thanks for the heads up!
