Even if it could zoom, it would be digital zoom, and the quality would drop...

Hi!
As you all X2 users must have noticed that the 8.1 MP camera has a video recording that looks like stretched QVGA quality wid very poor colour clarity. Itz 800x480 resolution which should give a decent clarity, but in reality itz useless!!
Is it a problem wid the compression technology the camera uses? or something else?
IS THERE A SOLUTION?
maybe a diff camera app ??
Help Please...!!!!
Thanks!
ive been wandering that myself lookin for a decent camera app that works and it aint that slow
The picture camera has zoom function how hard would it be to enable this for video capture?
there ARE zoom buttons in the right top corner...but not working
maybe with 3.1
the buttons are there and the functionality is written into the camera app. Unless its a hardware restriction it should be possible to enable it.
Have you tried using the zoom before or after having made a recording? My Sony digital camera can record video and you can use the zoom on the lens until you start recording, then for some reason it's locked out until you stop recording.

The camera doesn't have a zoom lens for either the still or video options. The zoom you are getting is just a digital enlargement.
so what stops the tablet from digitally enlarging the video as well? too processor intensive?

Makes sense. One of my earlier digital cameras had both optical and digital zoom. While it could use both for stills, it could only do optical for video.

Thanks for the heads-up, but just for the record, I'm pretty sure you'd get a much better response if you link was in English.

Like... never??? When I bought my DHD I was like "I've had a mobile with a front facing camera for 5 years and actually have used it less than 5 times. So I can go along with the missing front camera." The only way to send video is with the rear camera, which as far as I know supports only higt resolution vidos. If it could capturre video at 640x480 @30fps that would be great for video talk, but only on high speed connection, cause of the data transfer.
Good news, finally I can see my partner again
As for video recording... Could be very difficult on our beloved DHDs. Without a front facing camera I would loose the "can see" part just gained with this update. However... If the rear facing camera could be used, you could hold your device in front of a mirror to see the screen (and your partner) again
Would be very interested in seeing traffic statistics...
Nice, hope I can use rear camera for video on DHD.

Can someone tell me if the GS4 has a similar function like the HTC One (Zoe) that allows you to either take video or lots of stills
and go back later on and choose which you want to keep, rather when the photo is taken.
Thanks.
Rob.
Quick photos from galaxy s3 has been here some time. The phone will take many pics and you can choose the best. For video? im not so sure as I havnt had a chance to play with the samsung phones since the orignal back in 2007 or 8? -_-

HDR makes the video quality much better, atleast if the manufacturer makes it work right
I'm always filming in HDR with my xperia z and I can tell you it is awesome!

Does anybody know if oneplus is planning on implementing the pro mode for videoshooting like LG does ?
or can we do it through a mod or 3rd party app ?
if so then video shooting will be sick , specially using manual focus :good:
Of cours after they fix the actual bugs and lacks in the camera app like EIS in 4K
Any word yet on manual focus for videos or an alternate camera app that would do it?
Thanks
