[Q] HTC IME Mod for GT540 - GT540 Optimus General

Hello everyone perhaps you know the HTC Mod keyboard. I used it on my Acer Liquid quite a while and its very good best T9 function i have ever seen. Is it possible to port it to the new Gingerbread mod based on CM7 for GT540? Would be grate if it were possible. Tried the 2.2 version and it doesnt work, installs fine but cant open it up if I want to write.

did the same. once you activate it and open it up for a text message it force closes

HTC Phone keypad or alternatives?

Can anybody recommend and alternative keyboard?
I find the HTC Sense and Android keyboards awful to use. Is that just me?
Also, does anybody know of a way to flash the HTC Phone Keypad (the one for text input, not the dialer) onto a vanilla android 2.1 Hero? Or does that rely on Sense?
thnks
kie.
I would also like another alternative for the keyboard, at times it freezes and then suddenly puts several letters all at once. I would try Swype(?) but it doesn't work on 1.5

Thats what I want to know
Sorry, wrong thread!
You could try pushing this (attached file) to system/app via ADB. Not sure if it will work though (I'm guessing it won't tbh.)
Have fun
EDIT:// when you pushed it change the input msg by holding on a text input box and pressing input method.
tnx !! I'll try to install it trough astro manager.

MIUI Dialer.

I love the MIUI roms other than one aspect - the dialer. Is there any way to completely replace this with either the default Android dialer or HTC's? I have installed Dialer One over the top but all this does is alter how a call is made but the in call screen and receive call screen (slide up/down to answer etc) stays the same.
Cheers in advance.
Can anyone help with this? I'd love to get HTC's dialer working on this build.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to do it. I currently have an Xperia x10 and I've replaced the Phonebook.apk file (Located in /system/apps) with a modded one. I'd imagine the same concept can be applied to a cooked HD2 ROM. The only problem is if a dialer has dependancies with other services (Like sense dialer), you may come across issues.
No.
HTC uses htc libraries. You won't get them working on another rom.
(That's why you never see HTC apps outside sense )
You can, however, download dialer one or similar from market - or push the stock apk file
I recommend you use rocket dialer
you can find it from the market
Try "go contacts". Best dialer/contacts replacement imho.

[Q] Cyanogenmod Phone (T9) Keyboard, possible?

Hello guys.. I have lately been using the extremely awesome ROM CyanogenMod 7 (Build 8).. And i love it.. But unfortunately i might have to reinstall my old HTC Sense ROM, cause i really need a T9 Phone Keyboard?
I have been searching for a long time, and installed various mod's and versions of keyboards, but they all seem to fail me?
So if there is anybody with some knowledge an application or a mod which could help me out, i would be extremely happy

atakephone works great with cm7 if you want to use T9 search for dialing.
