Update Question - A7 General

can you update more than one thing at a time for example. Can i do the firmware update, and dexters mod 1.3 and the same time or do i have to do them each seperately? Thanks

You can only apply one firmware update at a time. Apply the 1.3 mod, then the bluetooth mod from Dexter.

So does the Dexter mod include the firmware updates from Elocity's website? Or does it put the fixes and workarounds on top of the currently installed firmware?

It should also be said (again) that it is either one or the other. elocitymod replaces the firmware currently installed on the tablet, it does not simply augment the existing one.
So pick one and do it (stock or elocitymod) otherwise you are just doing half of it for no reason.

Question
Dexter's mod builds on the firmware that eLocity provides and is all encompassing. So it is complete. His 1.3 does not include the most recent firmware upgrade from eLocity since the updates weren't major. There is also an additional mod for bluetooth issue that needs to have his 1.3 installed first and then the bluetooth mod.

UPDATE
UPDATE: The latest Dex Mod 1.4 is based on the latest released firmware from Elocity (Feb 24th).

I know you have to build your post count to post in the dev section, but come on. It says it right in the post where you download it.
UPDATE: This post is made of words.

[Q] Stuck with HC 3.2 despite ICS avalible

Hello
I was using Revolver ICS beta. Wanted get back to the stock rom since it is avalible already. Installed Strock 3.2 first - my build is now WW_eepad-8.6.5.13-20110925
Device won't update to ICS - keeps saying that there is no update avalible despite the ICS is already hosted on asus.com
What should I do?
just wait

Just wait. It will show up eventually. In the mean time, don't worry about. Many users are reporting problems with ICS, while many others report it works fine. Maybe by the time you see the update, more fixes will be in place in the firmware.
The problem is only a small % provide details as to their TF-101 version and how they installed, so most of the threads commenting on non-functionality are more rants than threads that can help draw an assessment as to why some ICS updates work and some do not.
The ICS update has thus far worked for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23625633&postcount=124 on my B70 TF101 with the IML74K.us_epad-9.2.1.17-20120312 update (pushed as a firmware update , where my TF-101 was purchased in the USA, but it is being used in Germany).
Download the official ICS from the asus website and put it on your sdcard then reboot you sould get a notification that it has been downloaded tap that and hit install and it should work
Downloaded ICS from asus website, put it on MICRO SD, restarted - no prompt. So I unpackerd the rar from the website and repeat - no prompt aswell
Most likely bc you have a custom recovery since you flashed Revolver. Go the Epic Noob Guide by Luna_666 and there is a link to the Unlockr where your can get the stock recovery.
Edit::I found it and linked them both for you.
Woodrube you were right - thanks

[Q] Build and Image version for ICS Stock [RESOLVED]

I was having some issues with my browser and email client and suspected it was due to not running a stock rom. Initially when ICS came out I was a little impatient, didn't wait for the OTA update and installed one of the "released" images.
Yesterday i spent most of the day trying different image. Initially I hoped to install an older version, like honey comb and the to OTA back to a stock ICS rom.
It seems that once your bootloader has been converted to ICS there is now way of going back to Honeycomb. I tried some things suggested on xda developer forum, but none produced the results.
I then installed what I believe is the current stock rom for an A500 giving me the following:
Android version: 4.0.3
Kernel version: 2.6.39.4+
Image version: Acer_AV041_A500_RV03RC01_WW_GEN1
Build number: Acer_AV041_A500_1.0.31.00_WW_GEN1
What I would like to confirm is that this is correct and that this version is the latest available from Acer.
I am not really interested in any of the custom images and don't need it rooted. So a stock standard Acer ROM should do me just fine.

Look in the dev section , the latest is 1.054.00_ww_gen1. It is in the sticky thread.
This thread describes in detail what I did http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961301 but now my tablet is bricked. I am still hoping for some way of recovering it though.

This is what happens when you have multiple threads going. Nobody knows what the heck is going on.
Perhaps you think it increases your odds of getting your issue fixed, but now, it only compounds things.
If one of the issues is solved, then you need to edit your title thread to state so. This can be done by selecting Edit, Go Advanced.
MD
The reason I started two threads was to answer different question. In this thread I was looking for the latest official released version of ICS available. The other thread describes my journey of trying different ROMs. I was hoping to downgrade to 3.1/3.2 and then to OTA to ICS. Well that is covered in the other thread.
Thanks for all your help. I got my answer on the latest version.

[SM-T800] Stock NH1 Base (De-Odexed, De-Knoxed) [10/5]

Hey All,
I'm pretty new to XDA, but I wanted to share some stuff I'm working on. I noticed that the SM-T800 (10.5" Wifi) was missing some more recent updates, so I decided to give it a spin creating a base stock ROM using the T800XXU1ANH1 update released in September.
What I did:
Based on Stock TouchWiz build T800XXU1ANH1 (Italy release)
Rooted
De-Odexed
De-Knoxed
Zip-Aligned
Init.d Support
Some disclaimers:
This is my first ROM.
I cannot guarantee you this will not destroy your device
Flash at your own risk!
If you like this ROM, or if you want to use it as a base for your own project, feel free! I don't expect anything in return. I really just hacked this together using JustArchi's excellent ArchiKithen (thanks Archi!)
Again, this is my first project, so feedback is welcome. I would have posted this in the Android Development forum, but I don't have access
Cheers!

Hi there, flashed the ROM, it's running quite well. Noticed the following:
1- ROM appears to hot have the sdcard fix (unable to write to sdcard)
Other than this, running well. Would you be adding the multi boot menu ?
Also, what has been updated from the ANY version to this one?
continued development?
Hi there
Just wondering if you were still developing for this ROM,.
Will you be releasing an update based on the newest ANI1 update?
Can't connect to my 5g wifi router for some reason?

Same thing here, I can connect to my 2ghz, but not 5ghz.
I flashed the stock ROM and I can connect to both 2 & 5ghz, so it appears there may be an issue with this ROM.
Hopefully swaj will release a ROM update from the ANH1 to the ANI1 update with the 5ghz fix
NI1 is just for csc. Newest usable pda is still NH1 (chinese NI1 pda is not very usable as swaj found out). It would be nice to see someone release NH1 to T805. I don't want to flash with odin and then re-root and install twrp again and don't know how to make flashable zip roms.
Sent from my SM-T805 using XDA Free mobile app
i'm checking out this rom, i'll give feedback

B330 for PLK-L01 http://www.hihonor.com/de/support/details/?DOC_ID=77508

This is the final version, isn't it?
No. Use the search function, this has been discussed to death. The mods will lock this thread when they see it.
Looks like it could be, same in EN version: http://www.hihonor.com/uk/support/details/?DOC_ID=77509
Especially when you see: "Updated date:2016-03-29" but we need confirmation.
Edit: Yes, looks like it is official: https://twitter.com/HonorEU/status/715194619080941568

I dont see where this has been discussed to death when it was only uploaded yesterday by Honor. I do think that is likely the full final firmware, if not what is it?
From what I see there was one other threat where someone posted that link, which I found actually very helpful. What I didnt find helpful was for it to be closed. No idea why that one was closed because if this is in fact the final i reckon a lot of people were also waiting for that. I dont think it makes sense to burry something that important on page x of some B330 beta threat but whatever.
Edit: it is the final and Honor says you can use it if you are on B180 but you should not use it if you are on B320. In this case you should wait for the OTA. I also read on another forum that people who updated from B180 got an error during installation but everything is working fine.
And 330 beta users, we can update?
it is the final version, i'm using it now but it's a total crap
lots of features and settings missing plus apk installation manager GUI is back to stock android
in fact it's not worth the update and i recommend u stay at B170 or B180

install rom on Acer iconia A500

Hi. i am looking to upgrade my tablet to newer version of Android. It has 4.0 now. OTA upgrades there are none available. Is there a guide to follow on how to install a newer ROM in the tablet, please?
This is a really old device and the Dec community has for the most part moved on. You will most likely find no updates in the future.
