Send text foreign characters - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I send text with foreign characters? The receiver can only see question marks instead of the correct characters.
I've tried to change locale, but it still doesn't work.

O2 Atom Exec - text message length

Any one know if you can change the text message character length?
Most new phones have a maximum of 400 characters or something, my atom only allows 160 characters.
Is it not allowing you to write more than 160 characters?
Default is 160 characters per text message, looks like it cannot be altered (well anyway, I didn't see that option in SKTools).
But of course you should be able to send SMS way more than 160 characters.
Yeah I can like as long an SMS as I want but it's broken into 160 character parts to be sent. That's how SMS is done by carriers I think.
yeah if u type more than 160 characters it'll send as 2 messages and so on. But i can receive text messages longer than 160 as one message.
Standard SMS per message for any phone is 160 char.
O2 Atom Exec allows you to type more than 160...which means u are being bill more than 1 sms as long u write more than 160...
if say u type 200... the other party will receive 200...on the back-end of the telecom will take it as 2 sms...

How to view non-english character in message?

How to view non-english character in message?
The standard message application on the phone always shows those special character, rather the actual sentence.
I tried a few sms apps, they show the same thing.
Are those non-English characters unicode? If so they should show up properly.
It should be.
It can display on mobile msn, but not on the default messaging program.
How about flash a ROM supported for that country?

[Q] HTC 3G Dash Font or Unicode for sending sms and e-mails in Cyrilic

Hello guys, I've got HTC 3G Dash (Snap) and managed to fit in Cyrillic characters by modifying the eT9.Maple.wwe.kmap file, so by holding any key I type the phonetic equivalent of Cyrillic, using the qwerty keyboard. I'm able to create Word docs, reminders or browse the net using Cyrillic, but sending SMS or e-mails, the characters which recipient gets are: ????? . Is there any specific font or Unicode for Cyrillic I could use so the Cyrillic letters could be read by the recipient? Thanks a lot!

SMS Character Encoding Settings

When I sent texts in Greek, at a minimum the letters become upper case at the recipient and sometimes they become gibberish for some recipients. I have zero problems receiving texts.
My friend is on the same AT&T plan/service and there are no problems with a Motorolla phone, so it must be something with the H910.
Is there a setting somewhere (or app) that I can adjust the character encoding of SMS messages? Using the Google Messages app, I can set "Use simple characters" but is not helping. I haven't found anything in the hidden menu either.
