I want to install to the default phone application to Cyanogenmod 7 RC2. Is this possible? And if that is what I need to move from WildpuzzleROM to the CM7?
It is not possible to have HTC Apps on CM / AOSP ROM's, because they require HTC's framework which is absent in AOSP ROMs like CM7.
However, it can be copied HTC `s framework like in a hybrid ROM. That application is better because of the ability to quickly search for contacts. Unfortunately, each alternative application did not meet my requirements, eg TAKEphONE dialer.
Thanks for the quick reply, but I do not give up so easily surely we can somehow move from WildPuzzleROM to CM7.
It is possible in a Hybrid ROM, just not in CM/Pure AOSP ROM. A Hybrid ROM has already been developed, and you should be able to find it in the Android Dev Section.
Hybrid ROMs are pointless and stupid, because they're still based on HTC's ROM, therefore not AOSP, and therefore slow and laggy.

Is it possible to install CM10/AOSP/AOKP apks in the stock TW ROM?
At the moment I'm running AOKP nightly and love the layout and features of the apps. However I miss some of the TW features (mainly gestures, battery life and IR blaster).
The apps that I mostly care about are:
1. Messaging
Found the following thread, will keep an eye on it, but as it stands MMS isn't working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2254459
2. Contacts
3. Phone
Reason I want the above is because I hate the look of the TW interface for the above 3 apps, and much prefer the clean look of the CM10/AOSP/AOKP versions.
Thanks!
buddy, Aosp/Aokp/Cm10 rom has made using Aosp pure Rom. so if u install any application and it installed normally then only it can work else any Mod can change that using compiling the application.

I'm not sure what you mean.
Maybe I wasn't clear in my first post.
Is it possible to port the apk's mentioned above to Stock TouchWiz firmware.
Messaging has been completed, now all I need is contacts.apk and phone.apk to work.
I'm already running AOKP (and love it), but miss some of the stock features (mainly gestures and IR blaster).
So if I could get a combination of stock rom and certain AOKP apk's then I'd be happy!
I've just bought a i9500, yeah the one with the Exynos Processor and doesn't have a proper AOSP rom, my question is, can I install the AOSP Contacts and Dialer apps on this roms? I would like to because I think the Touchwiz contact and dialer app sucks, I like the AOSP better!
You need to port it over. Requires knowledge of compiling and decompiling APKS and smalis. Why not use an alternative, exDialler is good alternative.
Hi guys,
Apologies if this question has been covered before, but I can't seem to find an answer in my searches.
I'm looking for a Touchwiz ROM for a G900I that is or can be themed to look identical (or as close as possible) to the UI of an AOSP ROM, like CM12 or Google Nexus devices.
Until recently, I was happily using CM12.1. The only problem was that Bluetooth audio was not working very well, and there didn't seem to be a way to fix it (it's been a known issue for a number of months but hasn't yet been fixed in nightlies or in any other CM based ROMs).
Ideally, I'd really like the native stability of a Touchwiz ROM, but with an AOSP ROM. Is this possible? Happy to use root and Xposed to get the job done, if that is what is required.
Thanks!
Hi,
Is it possible to create a ROM based on stock .87, but without ASUS interface (settings, quick settings, lockscreen and such) and ASUS/Zen UI? Something that looks like AOSP/CM, but uses stock kernel and software.
If so, what would I have to do? I've never created a ROM myself, even though I've been using custom ROMs since 2013. Would it be enough just to change the APKs for AOSP ones?
Thanks!
*Creating a new stock-based ROM. Sorry for the English error.

Just use empty stock android and flash gapps (I think there is empty stock room)
AOSP 5.0.2 use stock kernel
If we want to run a rom he can't (directly) we have to wait untill someone made it specifically for us. Thats fine i got it very device have its own kernel and rom integration. But if a person is using the same exact tree as official one do then why it is difficult to run stock apps directly w/o proting them.
Is it because of some legacy or copyright problem. One can build a rom on its own w/o having a team(like los, rr, paranoid).
Why porting is necessary? I would like to know that too

Cause you dont have updates
I am not a code/programme guy,
But what i have learned is, these different ROMs (Stock, AOSP based, Lineage based) have 0 (zero) interchangeability to their stock apps (except common apps). These may be because they use different codes?
For example, lineageSU addon will work only on lineagebased ROMs. Moto apps will work only on stock.
This looks like this apps are coded in way that it run only for specific ROM/device,
If you want such apps you need to modify it..
About ROM,
There are 4 sources/trees, 1)vendor 2) device 3)ROM 4)kernel.
Vendor, kernel, device tree can be used same for any ROM,
but ROM source is different for each ROM, which defines what is base of that ROM. You cannot build stock based ROM, you can only debloat, deodex, and modify stock ROM...
So, on different ROM, you need to modify apps to run...
@DgnrtnX I recommend to read that article about blob's so you get a better understanding why there's so much effort needed to "port" apps for example: https://www.xda-developers.com/came...opers-make-hardware-work-without-source-code/
