Upon installing the app 'B&B gallery' on the x10 it appears possible to view 24-bit color images natively without banding or color distortion.

This image shows terrible banding on both mediascape and the default 2.1 gallery:

It wouldn't work. Android forces a certain aspect ratio for backgrounds. This is because of scrolling homescreens.
Can anyone else see grid lines in their lcd panel when looking closely or viewing certain video content? I mainly see it in light backgrounds.

I can see the grid lines, but only with the screen off.
I see what looks like interlacing when watching movies in mobo player. Another user pointed out that most touch screens have some sort of pattern that's visible when it's off under direct sun light too.
What you're seeing are the multi touch panels that most screens will show in a certain light. Nothing to worry about friend

When I was running on 2.2.2 the screen looked great but since updating to 2.3.4 there is some problems with the display
The black levels don't appear as dark and there is a lot of dithering in the image
It basically looks like if you were using the wrong dynamic range
Is there any way to fix this?

I am looking for a good wallpaper size for my background. I cant find the resolution of the official android backgrounds. Those pics are super clear, but when I used pics I got online they were not clear, probably from the way it was cropped. Any ideas?

I use Quickpic for set wallpaper.It't ok.
The Sony Xperia ZL has a notification light, which Sony has emphasised in some of the press photos that were released. Whilst the notification light is quite small, it has a nifty LED that actually changes colour depending on what content is showing on screen. It works in a very similar way to the Xperia U, but as the Xperia ZL light is so small, the effect is much more subtle. Nonetheless it is a nice effect and you can see it in action in the video below.

This is old news... But would have been great if it were alot bigger. It's like a dot on the video which is barely noticeable

I like the Sony soundtrack you used (anyone knows the name of the song?) and I'd like to have seen this led notification on the Z as well. Maybe Honami will have something similar.
