Its impossible to overclock considering the kernel won't support it...
All you're doing us maxing the cpu

Maxing your cpu or overclocking can b very dangerous, so be careful. I wouldnt dare if u dont know how to properly do it.

Your phone probably can't handle oc. You should try the 1gz kernel instead.
Thanks I will try, I don't really care for the speed but oh well

Exactly. My phone's the same way. If you're looking for speed on 2.1 I'd recommend Z4 mod.

Just flash a froyo, stock kernel and it flies man.
They are daily drivers in my opinion, no real hiccups.

Overclock your vibrant phone after rooting it and flashing trigger 2.2?

Did you flash an overclocked kernel?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Nope I didn't just root and then put trigger 2.6 that's it nothing else
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
You have to install a kernel that allows OC in order to do so. Even then you may get problems if you have a Vibrant thats picky about its voltages.

Just like mine, i'm runing trigger 2.5 after issues with other ROM's. Now i'm happy and very stable. I wouldn't OC.

Just flash one and take it for a spin. See for yourself. I have Axura with Morfic's kernel and its beautiful!

I was reluctant too, flashed the DOW14 and i'm really glad i did.
If you are OK with loss of Battery life over clocking is OK. For me, having a phone that after 24 hr of moderate use I still have 65% battery left is Awesome !!
Giving that that up just to have a higher Linpack or other high benchmark score ...to me is pointless..........
It will kill you phone if you oc high frequency
I was on the x10 mini forums and i saw that they have stuff like overclocking and android 2.3.3 thats crazy and i wonder why we cant have it? They got crazy stuff there on the stock kernel? ! How come we cant have it?
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
We do have Android 2.3.3 and over clocking.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Ok yeah but on a custom kernel that is not yet stable and no 2.3.3 fully stable yet ?
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Overclocking is only giving them 1100 quadrant scores and 736mh.
I am getting 1300 on WB's CM6 rom with stock kernel.
There scores are due to their hardware like the processor if we would have overclocking we would surely get way more theñ 1300 my point is how come they managed to do it and.we. cant?

I'm confused. We can. there is a custom kernel that'll let you overclock to 1100mhz. you're free to use it. The mini has had more progress in this department because it has different hardware as far as i'm aware and is more easily modified. correct me if i'm wrong with that.
The x10 mini (pro) is easier to modify because it has diffrent hardware that is easy to modify.
Ohh i though the x10 and the mini would be the same since the only difference between them is the speed the camera and the screen size ;p anyways thanks got my answer

Even though the X10i has more devs and has better hardware the mini jst beats it for the price !!!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a stable OC kernel I could flash on my MT3G 32B? I'm currently running LegSense 2.1 (ROM).
Thanks guys =)

In my time owning my mytouch, I have yet to see a kernel that can't overclock. Anything above 528mhz is overclocking. For me anything above 595 is unstable and almost instantly freezes the system.

First of all you need to have all thease stuffs:
1. unlocked bootloader
2. Rooted
First, flash the lastiest cm7 rom and kernel (not cm9)
Then, install chainfire3d and it plugin.
Go to settings - cm setting - performance - CPU setting - available governors - set it to ondemand, go to min cpu frequency - set it to 122, Max to 1401 - check set on boot
Open chainfire3d - go to default opengl settings - check reduce texture quality, - go to use plugins - set it to nvidia. Done!
Enjoy your massive improvement of gaming performance on xperia arc/arc S
Tested games:
-asphalt 6
-riptied gp
-Shadow gun
-cs protable
Edited: if you want a little bit faster overclock to 1.6 ghz
Don't for get to hit thank if i help you!

Why are you on xda developers?
Things like overclocking and modding are the whole point of this site.
While you might not want to unlock your bootloader and other things which "might" brick your phone, it is also unlikely you will if you follow the developers guides properly.
This guide here has nothing unusual that people aren't doing to their phones already.

first of all i think you are right, but your first sentence was really unnecessary, he is just giving us his opinion.
I've tried this on my old device (SGT-5570)
It's become faster, no lag. But we'll sacrifice the graphic quality
chainfire3d
from where can I install it ????
is it a programme in the market or what
From market

Simple, for nvidia games.
Thanks! just downloading cm7 now
Ok! So we install nvidia for nvidia game? I though that it was based on the phone chipset and installed qualcomm. By the way, how do u know its working? I can't make out the difference after installing chainfire!
P.S. mine runs on stock froyo!
So is it even working?
