[Q] Dexter 1.3 Patch - A7 General

If anyone can help me I would be very grateful.
I updated with the Dexter Mod 1.3 when I got my Elocity A7 last week. Today I attempted to update the 1.3 Mod with the correct patch and encountered what I think is a very serious problem:
When I attempt the boot into the kernel the table says it is booting the kernel, then it gets to an Android Splash screen and stays there. When I tap the home hardware button, I get this error message:
Error: recovery.c Can't open /cache/recovery/comman
Formatting MISC:....
The device works otherwise, can I fix this or am I now stuck with a device that can no longer be updated?
If anyone can help me with this, I would very much appreciate it.
Thank you.

[Q] Toshiba Thrive Boot problems after update

Help please.
I purchased 2 thrive tablets from best buy on a recent holiday from uk to usa (one for myself and one for my father in law).
I recently installed the update on my own without a problem. However when my father in law installed it on his thrive it got into a boot loop when rebooting. It keeps booting with the words "booting recovery kernel image".
When i do the vol/power switch on and pick the box icon to reset the same boot loop happens. I can use the tablet by doing the vol/power switch on and choosing the android icon but dont want to do this everytime i use the tablet.
Since i live in the uk and bought the tab in the usa I dont know what my warranty rights are.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, let me get this right. Your Father-in-Law did the update and when it rebooted it got to "Booting recovery Kernel Image" and hung. If you shut it down and try to boot it, it still comes up and says the same thing.
If I have this right, it has not installed the update. It has hung up tryig to reboot into recovery to apply the update. You said you can go into recovery and select boot and it will boot fine. If this so, open the Service Station and see if you can select the update again. With any luck, you sould be able to get it to redownload and install it again and fix the issue.
You also said you did a reset and it still came up with the message. Did you do a full factory reset? If not, do that and it should boot up as it did the firat day it was turned on. Also, if you have done this, try clearing the cache and reboot to see if that fixes the issue.
Thanks for the reply
I did try the service update again from the service station but the tablet shuts down then reboots with the same problem i.e. the" booting recovery kernel image loop"
I also tried the full factory reset from the settings but same boot loop again.
I also tried the reset by clicking on the open box icon when you turn on the tablet with the vol up/power buttons but again i get the boot loop

Sounds like you covered all th normal stuff. The final option I can give you is to go here and download my Thrive Easy Flash Tool. Once you have it, follow the readme file to load the adb drivers on your PC. I am assuming you have a Windows PC, if not, let me know. Once you get the ADB drivers loaded and operational, flash the Clock=WorkMod recovery to the device. Once it is loaded, you can download AustereGrims Thrive 0029 Stock images or rooted images and load them. Since it is your Father-in-Laws Thrive, I would load the stock images. After that is done, the device should boot just fine and be updated to the latest load.
Let me know if you have any other problems.
Mod Edit: Offsite links requiring registration removed.
Thanks Paul.
Will give it a go.

No problem. Try ThriveForums.org. Think you find a lot of good info and people.
Many thanks for your help Paul.
Tablet is now starting up as normal.
Only prob is I now have no wifi. I get a wifi error in the wireless settings and cant add any networks.
Afraid I'm a bit of a dummie when it comes to this rooting and flashing lark.
Thanks again

I am glad you have it almost working. It looks like you have the wrong version of the boot image or wrong version of the system image. If all you did was my root tool, then you have a new boot image with the older system image. That is why the WiFi says error. What you now need to do is get the file from AustereGrim that I gave you a link to. If you used the stock image of his and have the WiFi error, then he did not update the stock image with the correct boot image. In that case, just use my tool to flash a stock boot image. If you need more assistance, send me your Email via PM and I will get back to you to help.

Snowy Screen on Boot

Hello Everyone
Let me start by saying bought 2 verizon Galaxy tabs (SCH-I800 model) i got one to cm9 the other is giving me trouble. Here is what i did. This Tab was Running 2.2.3 and it was running good. I used Heimdall To put the Cubed 3 2.3.5 rooted Rom following these instuctions on this page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325469
Heimdall finished sucessfully then the device rebooted. When it came back up the sumsung logo appeared for a sec then something that looked like snow started on the screen (I think it is the samsung logo all garbled up). The snow continues for about 1 min then it goes to a black screen and sits there. I can boot into download mode without the garbled screen but if i power it off and plug in the charger the batter indicator shows up for a sec then the image goes garbled. I AM STUMPED!
I have tried reflashing it to the Stock rom folling these guides without success.
[Tutorial] How To Restore Verizon Galaxy Tab Back To Stock
[Guide][CDMA][Stock rom] Thanks Goes For {boodafli}
*Guide* Root CDMA VZW Galaxy Tab Using [ROM][CDMA/VZW][2.3.5]Stock+Root Vanilla*
All of the flashes with heimdall finish successfully but the same snowy screen appears on boot then goes to black screen. I would apperciate a push in the right direction of if anyone has encountered this before a way to fix this thing.
Thanks for any help!!!!!!
[Edit]
Ok Since no one has responded to me I assume that either no one knows or that no one understands the problem. Either way i have made a video showing the problem. Please watch it and see if you can help me out with this issue. Please Note that before i started flashing the roms the Tab was working with Android Ver 2.2 and the display was fine and this develpoed because i flashed it. Also the the screen doesn't get messed up in the download screen. The Download screen is perfectly ok. Can someone please lead me in the right direction or point me to someone who may be able to help me.
Here is the link to video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kyo8GNbOTLI&feature=plcp
I may have gotten the OS to work
OK here is an update to the situation:
I continued to look online and i found a Rom that was for this tablet but it is marked for US Cellular. I flashed it in using the US cellular install. When it came up it was still snowy on boot but I discoverered that if i push the Power Button twice the OS comes up. It is 2.3.5 that was flashed into it. I want to be able to use clockwork mod recovery to flash other roms into it the problem is that with the snowy boot i can't. I have provided a video demonstation of what the tablet does and the working OS below.
Video of the snowy boot to android 2.3.5
if anyone wants to see what it did originally the video is in the previous post or Here.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this problem fixed. To me it seems like some type of bootloader problem.
you might be right, it seems to be boot loader.
You may need a complete rom that has boot.bin and Sbl.bin so you can flash it completely with --primary-boot ./boot.bin --secondary-boot ./Sbl.bin
be careful though because the only way to brick the tab is by screwing up boot loader.
Sounds great! Anyone have any idea where i can get a complete rom or even just the bootloader files. Also since I have 2 of the same tablet can I make a boot.bin and a Sbl.bin from the other tablet. If so how would i do that. Also would i use Heimdall to flash them to the broken tablet?
I don't know how to extract.
Must be just some dd command on the right partition.
Ibdont know any cdma rom that has bootloader files.

[Q] Big problems - Boot Loop A501

Hello there,
I really got a big problem.
My A501 is stuck somewhere in a bootloop (I only see the acer-logo and then the android logo and nothing goes any further)
I can bring it to APX - mode, but no tool doesn´t work...I´ve tried it with NVflash, which keeps stuck somewhere when formating partitions, I´ve used the APX Flash tool, which also keeps hanging in there forever at step two!!! So there is no way, i can use those tools properly (which, I guess, would solve my problems) .
I tried installing Acer_501_4.027.15_COM_GEN1.zip
with the result:
Not legal !!!!!!! abort
Error: The blob package is not official, the update is failed!

Before all that I had a:

ICS 4.0.3 stock, no root, locked bootloader
Now I have spent endless hours with nothing
I just would like to have a A501 with a custom Rom / CWM.
Can anyone please help me?! Thank you very much.

onto my sdcard, booted with Power+Volume DWN, Droid Machine with those clockwork wheels and a progress bar, then it was stuck at about 95%, rebooted -> Boot Loop at "android"

s7 Edge problems after flashing

First and foremost, I have searched but cannot find someone who has experienced a similar issue as myself.
I have followed the instructions on stechguide (cannot link as I am too new) to flash TWRP onto my s7 edge (Exynos).
However, after booting into recovery, I get a blue screen with an android spinning around saying "installing system update"
and then shortly after that I get a dead android dreaming of a big "!" warning symbol.
It then loads Android Recovery:
MMB29K.G935FXXU1APF2
Samsung/hero2ltexx/hero2lte
6.0.1
giving me the usual samsung recovery options. I am too scared to try anything else (brand new phone) so I just opt to reboot the phone..
The phone still seems to boot fine, however the fact that TWRP is not working and the warning symbol when trying to access recovery is bothering me. Also, when the phone starts, it seems to default to showing me my samsung registration information. Strange
Does anyone know why this might be? Flahsed twrp-3.0.2-2 img tar file, using odin 3.10.7 with these USB driers SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.45.00.exe (downloaded through the Verizon link)
any help appreciated
thanks for your time.
I have now resolved my problem. I needed to hold the recovery buttons immediately after flashing. Mods please delete this thread.

Bootloop -> cannot load volume /misc HELP

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my Note 4, and I don't have more idea how can I fix the issue or is it sw or hw issue.
The symptom:
Phone starting with the screen Samsung Note 4 -> screen switching to Samsung loading screen ->the screen freeing out for 2-3 sec -> 1 buzz ->screen is going off ->1 buzz again and starting all over again
The story:
I left my phone on my desk yesterday and next when I wanted to check it I saw, the phone was rebooting continously. So, there was a bootloop, without any touch before. I thought I can solve this issue with a new stock rom, but it doesn't work out. So I tried several custom roms, still the same. Now it's stock again and it has a cwm recovery and the log file's last row is: I:cannot load volume /misc
I have tried without sd card and also another battery already.
If you have any idea how can I fix this or is it a SW or HW issue, that helps for me a lot!
Thank you for any advice!
C.
I have checked the log file in the stock recovery and the final lines are:
error: open_script: could not open res/recovery.customize.do
(errno 2: No such file or directory)
[failed start]
sales_code=MET
Do you have any idea?
I have same issue here on Galaxy S6 Edge.
Anyone can help, please?
