[Q] Dolphin Browser HD - A7 General

When I installed DexterMod 1.2, I found that Dolphin Browser HD was suited my needs quite well and quickly became my favourite web browser. I upgraded to 1.3, and the new market won't let me see it. I can't access the .apk file from the web-based market either, and am having trouble finding a 3rd party .apk download link for it. Does anybody know of a good source (hopefully 4.3)?
P.S. If anybody else likes Dolphin out there, they are producing a new browser (for pad) that looks specific for tablets. just FYI

Sorry, but any chance of providing a normal download link? For some reason my stock browser won't download as a forum attachment. Keeps coming up as download failed.

I downloaded Dolphin Browser HD through Appoke. You can download Appoke from the freeapps section of the elocity website and get apps that may not show up on Google market. I also have GetJar and the SlideME marketplace installed too.

Is there any way to disable wap capability in the browser?
Any browser I use wap capability is sent in headers and mobile browser is detected in many sites.

Dolphin Browser HD unresponsive

I have had Tab for 5 days, and this will be my 4th time uninstalling Dolphin Browser HD because when I click a link on Twitter or some other app that prompts the browser to open, it just hangs in a white screen. Anyone else experiencing this? I know there are other browers but I believe Dolphin may be the only one that does Flash (or at least does it the best)

You tried Dolphin Browser 6.0 beta?
Sent from my Amiga 500 using Workbench
been using dolphin 5.x for a week now and haven't had that problem. I do find that on some pages, I can't click on a link at all, no matter what zoom or refresh or anything. not consistent, but definitely recurring.
If they can make dolphin a little more tablet optimized, it would completely rock.
No I haven't. I went to the dolphin's blog and couldn't find the link for download like I did when they had version 5 on beta status.

I got 6.0 Beta from the Market on my HTC Desire!
Tried Dolphin HD and Mini and even Mirren browser and they were all "crashier" than the stock browser. Broomed them fast and stayed with Stock Browser.
So you're not the only one who's noticed.

With Dolphin HD you don't need anything else!
I like the Chrome Browser on Android, especially the "shared tabs" thing. So I can open tabs PC/Laptop and if I have to go, I can read it on the Phone. Very nice
The only bad thing are the pink glitches when changing tabs, but it's no big problem for me. And the missing flash support is bad
But all in all it's a very good browser for my DHD

Very and very good, beautifull and fast browser. Very usefull to have access for my bookmaarks from PC, but it's some uncomfortable without flash
Too bad it's ICS-only.
Unfortunately only for ICS but I think Chrome is the most good browser!
I wanted Chrome, but did not realise it did not have flash. For everyone who loves the favorites. Why not use Evernote? If i see a cool article but have no time to read I save the link to Evernote. Than, when I sit on the couch or where ever I use Evernote on my mobile, PC ot work to open the links and read the article.
I like my browsers with flash!

Install Android Browser?

Has anyone been successful in installing the browser.apk from an ICS build onto the Nexus 7? I tried dropping the browser.apk from CM9 into /system/app and fixing permissions, but it just force closes immediately.
I need the old browser, Chrome doesn't cut it for me since bookmarklets don't work.

I suggest you adapt.
according to the google nexus 7 manual that you can download on google books, it says you can download the old browser via google play. i havent tried it yet since my nexus 7 wont arrive till next week, but maybe have a look in google play?
theres also ICS browser+ in google play, which is more or less the stock ICS browser but with more features.
..
If I'm not mistaken, once a build for the N7 is built from A.O.S.P the browser will not be chrome..
Chrome isn't open sourced yet.

I've been looking for this too, mainly because I want a full screen browser and I don't think chrome can do that. I've looked in all the settings and found nothing

I'd also love to know the answer to this. Have side-loaded flash 11.1 which sort of works with Dolphin but would prefer the 'native' ICS browser as I think the compatability would be better - at least until a Jellybean version of iPlayer comes out.
Skyfire will play Flash videos on the Nexus 7 without installing Flash but they're recompressed first on their servers.
I too would like the option of using the stock Android browser with my N7. If the Galaxy Nexus can run it under Jelly Bean 4.1.1 why can't the N7? At least give us the option of sideloading it.
When startin the N7 it said something about if you want flash in Chrome, dl the Chrome in Play Store. Have not tried this.
I don't Understand why they shipped it with chrome to begin with. The aosp jellybean browser is much smoother and faster then chrome. I tried one ROM that included it and it worked so much better. Unfortunately some other things didn't work right in that ROM.
Found that with flash 11.1.115.11 fullscreen video works on iPlayer using the latest Aurora build of Firefox (you can download the APK in Chrome from the Mozilla website). As it's a nightly build a few things are still clearly pre-release (e.g. thumbnail tab previews are corrupt) but the browser itself is impressive. Worth a try and less risk of breaking something if the standard browser isn't easy to install.

Best Web Browser?

lol, these threads are usually annoying, but I'm desperate!
Tried Ocean browser but it's fugly with that grey color scheme (couldn't find a way to change it). It matters to me since I'll be browsing the net a lot.
Dolphin is the one I'm settled with at the moment and so far it's nice.
Will give Opera Beta a try.
Any others people use?

Definitely the best browser. Its android browser. Yes you need root. Once you do its very simple to install. Its the smoothest and does flash full screen videos without issues.
If you don't want to root, naked browser is also very good.
so far I'm loving firefox, it has adblock and it's smoother in flash videos. =D

Works fast (after the V8 Javascript update), and I haven't had it crash yet that I can recall (I do wonder what people are doing to have it crash "repeatedly" though since I haven't had any issues).
AOSP Browser comes in second for me. Anything else isn't an option for me unless it syncs with Google.

Firefox Beta or Dolphin Beta for stuff that requires flash. Don't really use AOSP browser anymore.

[VIDEO] Adobe Flash Install for Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I know HTML5 has been widely adopted. Let's face it though. There are sites which will not change over and resources which are Flash based that will never be converted. That's why I always install Flash Player on my Android devices.
Note: Search function on XDA is disabled. Not sure if this is a repost here. If it is, sorry. Two, I did make a couple of errors on the video. I have a young baby girl that needs a lot of attention. I did not reshoot.
Prep
Make sure you go to settings > general tab > security and allow install from unknown locations.
Download
Flash download link: http://flash.cricketusers.com
Go to that link from your device. It will start the download automatically. This is a version I've used for a number of devices for a good amount of time.
Browsers
Download your favorite browser. It won't work on stock, and it won't work on all browsers in general. I'm sure people will start to chime in one what worked and what didn't.
Dolphin Browser - works and it is my choice because it allows for an always on option. This device is powerful, and I think it can process most sites with ease.Boat Browser - didn't see an always on option here. Looks like it has to be on demand. This means you have to click the little download icon to load the Flash object. That was one of the errors in the video. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, gripes, b..., moans, etc feel free to post a reply!
KitKat 4.4 Update
I don't have the S4 with me anymore, but below is a video of flash player being installed on my wife's Nexus 5.

That's what I thought too, but after reading this topic thread I went back to my stock browser on my 2-day old Note 3 to check. Sure enough, the flash plug-in I side-loaded an hour after bringing my phone home doesn't work on the stock browser on the Note 3. It did on my Note 2.

I haven't checked the OP but Adobe regularly updated Flash Player for Android to patch security vulnerabilities. The .81 link is the latest and, as it turns out, final version so it's not surprising that the file length is different.

I would have used Dolphin with this but Dolphin along with basically any other browser I install has terrible stuttering scrolling on the Note 3. So for now I'm using Chrome Beta which shows the least amount of stuttering.
My need for flash has greatly been reduced over time but it's great we still have a method for using it. Thanks OP.
