I am wondering if anyone has tried to change the boot screen on the A7?
You can change the boot screen using an application called Absolute System Root Tools - it is actually provides much more functionality than just changing the boot screen but it gives you access to 100 different boot screens - most of them animated.

I have some questions... Did some googling but couldn't find what I was looking for?
1. How can I remove or change the GOOGLE on table start?
2. How can I add my own Video Splash to replace the animated X video on table start?
3. How can I turn off automatic system updates?
Thanks much!

Hi,
I have rooted my Nook Touch and got the Nook Touch Mod Manager working.
I've used it to disable the 'drag to unlock screensaver' and this works fine.
However, If I remove power (disconnect the battery) and then restart the nook I still see the "drag to unlock" when the nook finished booting. How can I disable this? Please note the drag to unlock for the screensaver is disabled. Its just right after booting I still see a picture of those trees and "drag to unlock"
Thanks.
I've found a solution.
I've written an app and used the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED broadcast intent to start my activity when the device boots. In the activity I've used the FLAG_TURN_SCREEN_ON, FLAG_SHOW_WHEN_LOCKED, FLAG_DISMISS_KEYGUARD, FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON and FLAG_FULLSCREEN flags.
Now after booting my app starts and is shown.
@rve, congrats on finding your own solution! Will you please share this app you created?

Hi.
My Teclast Master T10 just got upgraded to PhoenixOS 2.0.0 via OTA. I got no warning that this would make me lose widgets, which are a key feature for me. I've tried both "tablet" and "fake Windows" mode.
Is there any way to get widgets in PhoenixOS 2.0, or to get rid of it and get back to something sensible ? PhoenixOS won't even let me install an alternative Launcher...
Thanks for any help.

Widgets are just like gadgets on Windows 7.
Why won't you get it back in Phoenix OS 2.6.7?
No, really I'm not joking about that.
Hey - Hello. total newbie with a Teclast TBook and wanting to move to an all android system. It dual boots to wither Win10 or Android. I want to blow it all away and simply do Android. Any written step-by-step or videos available?? Russ. [email protected] (many many many thanx for any help or direction)
I found the missing widgets!!!
I've found a way to get widgets back! The side effects are we loose a little screen/desktop area on the side of the screens, and the app drawer reappears.
To accomplish:
1) Download total commander (file explorer)
2) navigate to: /System/App/FileManager
3) rename FileManager.apk to FileManager.apk1
4) reboot your system
5) enjoy
To revert back:
1) Navigate to same path as above
2) remove the 1 from the end of the file name
3) reboot your system
Thoughts:
1) You will loose a little screen space, as the resolution, screen settings will revert to Android x86
2) To use widgets long press on the home screen
3) This does not remove the Phoenix os navigation bar
4) This will get rid of your recycle bin and "my computer" functionality
The developers were really sneaky, and FileManager.apk is what's driving the hiding of widgets, app drawer, etc. I haven't figured out yet what else it manages, but I do not it is not responsible for not being able to load new launchers. Haven't figured that part out yet.
Enjoy!

Can you tell me how I can get access rights that I can rename the file?
I would like to make the same change to myself.
Hello, I was replacing the LCD screen of the phone, did a test to see if it was working. Managed to get to the boot screen but doesn't show anything after that, it's just black. The touch detection works I can feel the phone vibrate when I press on certain parts of the screen (I assume it's the pin keypad). Any idea on what the problem is and how to fix it?
Hello NotNeoSF!
I have the same problem, in fact I think I can elaborate. So after replacing the screen, I could se perfectly the boot logo so I thought "Nice, fixed" but then just blank like you. But I noticed that, in the dark, I could see that the screen was working and I could use the phone normaly with no issues. I think that if you power the phone and take it into a room with no light u will see the same. It looks like for some reason the O.S. is disabling the back light of the screen...
Anyone has any idea how to fix it?
Had this too on my phone, which is a xiaomi redmi note 9 pro.
Just fixed it.
Please note: I am not a pro. Just trying to find my way out.
So please be careful with my instructions.
What happens:
- boot logo is visible
- after boot display goes dark
- you indeed feel the phone vibrate when you press on some parts on the display (indeed the pin keypas)
What went wrong in my case:
Display was turned to brightness 0 and thus when system loads it turns of the display.
There are probably other solutions, but I had not adb enabled (debugging options), .... so I went this way:
go into recovery mode (twrp/orange fox/...)
I am using orange fox recovery, don't know instructions for others, but it should be something similar
in the menu choose: mount
select system
orange fox recovery has adb enabled, but you should make sure recovery adb access is enabled
Now you have access through adb to system files
get the build.prop file to your computer
default location is /system/build.prop
On my phone this was /system_root/system/build.prop
You can try both or find out how to get yours. you'll see when a file gets downloaded to your pc.
so for mine this was:
Code:
adb pull /system_root/system/build.prop
edit the downloaded file in notepad and add following lines:
Code:
#Set min and max brightness
ro.lcd_min_brightness=70
ro.lcd_brightness=255
the upload the changed file to your phone
In my case this was to /system_root/system/build.prop
Code:
adb push build.prop /system_root/system/build.prop
reboot your phone
Code:
adb reboot
After reboot display will be set to minimum brightness (70 in this case) (max is 255=brightest)
and you will be able to get in and adjust brightness.
Hope this works for you.
PS: If you just changed the display, check the proximity sensors wires and connectors.
But if this would be faulty, normally the pin keypad wouldn't react either.
