Interesting find fixxxer
I've been running android on my Nokia n810 Wimax Edition for a year
I've been running the Live Android version 3 (from here) inside Virtualbox on my hdx 18t (18.4" screen) for a week. I wanted to post some linpack results, but the market is gimped and I was struggling to push anything to the shared drives....I'll have to play with it some more.

[Q] questions about transformer

Hi, I was about to purchase an eeepad transformer for myself when one of my friends told me he already ordered me one as an early birthday present . I was overjoyed when he said it is shipping from TigerDirect right now to his house (so he can wrap it and give it to me as an official present). Anyway, back to the real subject; I was wondering a few things (this is my first native android device although I do run it on my touchscreen desktop at times).
1. Does the transformer (or honeycomb in general) come with that really cool visualizer live wallpaper which acts as a visualizer for your music playing. I remember that on android 2.2 and I thought it was really interesting.
2. I bought (and took advantage of the free app of the day) apps on Amazon app store and I was wondering if I could run those apps on:
a) honecomb
and/or
b) another android device
3. I was also wondering whether android has the ability to install a screensaver app (yes, I know that LCD screens never really burn an image into them however, I would rather see a neat little animation on the screen then nothing)
4. Last, but not least, does any android browser support Java.
-the last two points aren't that important however; if u have an answer to any of these questions, please tell me so I can know what to expect when it arrives.
Thanks very much for reading all of this

1) pretty much all the default android LWPs are gone. only one it ships with it the Asus Mywater one.
2) most apps work on honeycomb, some will be very small and not fill up the whole screen. I've downloaded about 10 apps from amazon and they've all worked. and yes once bought from the amazon store they'll work on any device you own as long as your signed into your amazon account through the app. I have apps on my TF, Nexus One, and my dads Vibrant.
3) i've actually wanted this to lol. Sadly theres nothing like this yet aside from the gallery slide show, but it's still not a screensaver.
4) there are a bunch of java settings so i'm pretty sure it has java support.

wow, thanks for answering all of that. Really glad Amazon app store works fine! I will look for more live wallpapers for honeycomb in the marketplace when I get the transformer

no problem. There are tons of live wallpapers that work in honeycomb, but as with regular phones. they mostly lag the hell out of the stock launcher.
i'm hoping that maybe when we have 12 core processors LWP's won't lag anymore lol

Android Market??

I noticed when i upgraded to honeycomb 3.1 the android market had the app tab the books tab and the movies tab and was the updated version but now when i upgraded to honeycomb 3.2 all of that is gone is there anyway to update the android market?>
Can anyone help?
I'm not sure that that's a problem that's very common. My Xoom at 3.2 still has everything that 3.1 had.
Just out of curiosity, Are you currently outside the country from where you bought your Xoom? Thing is, the Android Market exists in about 95 countries. Google Movies and Books, on the other hand are available in much fewer, so if you go to any of those countries, the tabs just don't show up.
Hope that helped, although I will need some more info to comprehensively solve your problem.
I am in Canada and it was bought at best buy in canada, another problem is i have a samsung galaxy tablet 7inch and half of the apps on the galaxy market are not showing in my motorola xoom market. It was all working fine on honeycomb 3.1 but i dont know whats wrong with it i emailed the android market support and they were no help at all.
I didn't encounter this issue with my Xoom. Although it may be different for me, as I'm running Tiamat 2.0.1 right now.
Regardless, I believe this market update may have to be downloaded elsewhere. If it doesn't update itself, maybe check online to see if you can find a place to download the update. I know that another website I check for Android news had a download link.
I'm not sure why the tabs don't appear on your Xoom, but I'm still gonna ask - Is your Xoom connected through a VPN which may be causing it to give the market details of another country.
As for the apps not showing up, I'd blame it on the VPN, if you have any, but more emphasis on the fact that your Galaxy Tab isn't honeycomb. It's more of a big phone than a tablet, so a number of phone apps would be showing up on that, which do not show up on a tablet. Viber and Tap-Tap Revenge would be a couple of examples that I could give you.
Hope that Helps.

will we see wp 8.1 at build?

I feel like it would've been official by now if they we're going to show the blue update for windows Phone. Anyone seen any news on this?

Based on last year's event, I would say very little, if any, discussion or demonstration of the future of Windows Phone OS will be shown at BUILD. They might turn around and surprise us with a preview of the SDK changes for developers. Or show a short preview of some new features, but with the leaks we've seen thus far, I doubt there's even a chance that anything impressive is ready to be shown.

Agreed, probably just some more tile sizes.
Here is what I saw today (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qElsoa5Rhw)
Basically nothing to have to do with WP 8.1 just an over view of phone hardware
Maybe tomorrow they will tell us more? Who knows... I really hope it includes this (http://http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/forums/101801-feature-suggestions/suggestions/2281201-custom-sounds-for-sms-mms-email-notifications-e)

[Q] android 1.5/1.6 live wallpaper idea

This post is a question about the feasability of using prerendered live wallpapers on android 1.5/1.6, as they do not, in the stock version at least, currently support live wallpapers/backrounds.
This is just an idea, and I have no idea if it would work; but what if, instead of trying to actually render live wallpapers,
would it be possible to have an app that runs in the backround and just changes the wallpaper at a set interval to the next image in a folder on the sd card? The reason I'm posting this is because I don't have the knowledge or time to actually develop it; nor do I have the hardware that is needed to set up a productive environment for android development.
Does anyone who has viewed this have any knowledge of whether it is plausible? If it is, it would be great if someone were to develop it as an open source project/mod/possibly even an app.
Something like this?
