(q) screen shot - Droid X General

I'm not rooted. I want to take screen shots. How?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App

I use Shootme from the market. Works like a charm and takes the best screenies on the DX with no annoying camera icon at the top like other apps.

I use it too Ben and like the new "movie" feature they added in the last update. But the OP can't use it since he is not rooted and Shotme requires root.
@qGa you will have to use ADB to get screen shots without root. Here is a how-to post for you to go through. If it was me I would just root with Z4Root. It's quick simple and doesn't break anything. It's what you do after you root that can muck up your phone but root by itself is safe.

Root your phone download shootme. Win. If you don't want to root your phone, idk

On your SD card on the shotme folder.

I try every app for whatever need I have. I.e, tried all the launchers, all the file managers, etc...what kinds of apps are you needing, or what are you interested in? I was thinking just today that I need to start blogging app reviews for power users...

Yes youll have to turn off vitus scan and firewall to dl. The program is not a virus that will infect your pc, it roots your phone to gain superuser permissions which is blocked by moto.

Or just dl z4root apk directly to your phone

Can you add to the Toots-how to wipe your cache, clear frozen apps data, etc.

That and clearing phones cache via recovery. Maybe add that to the vid. Basic crap for us, but so many people-who don't know how to root-ask about this.
Well I will be working on more tutorials I will definately tackle clockwork, and many other things.
Thanks for your input.

Very cool. Nice find!!

Finally something which can be used with android which doesn't require adb installation or anything such to do with your computer to take a screenshot... Go devs Go...
Works awesome. All the other screenshot apps were giving me errors about fb0 and not having root level access to lower level graphics. This one works right out of the store. Good job dev.
Screenshot It also works without root. I use it and I'm rooted but my wife uses it also and I have not rooted her Atrix.

Tips on creating more space without rooting

Im getting constant messages now saying I dont have enough space. I've moved everything I can to sd and cleared the cache. Programs like groupon are big but wont let me though, grrr.
Noticed email takes up a lot too, anyway of limiting what is stored?
Deinstall some apps...
Thats not a tip its common sense... What if u didn't want to get rid of the apps... *rolls eyes
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
Then root. It's not like you need a Computing PhD for that.
Sorry chris,
The only way to make apps that don't want to be on the SD play nice, is root. And, the only way to remove apps you don't use that are sitting in /system...is root.
Sent from my R800x using xda premium
Well actually no root required using adb you can set install location from 0 which is system auto to 2 which allows all downloaded apps to be moved to sd card

That's good for apps installed after that command. System apps and previously installed apps are untouched, and they're the largest issue.
Can u not save all emails to sd or limit how much is stored
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
Just root your phone. Whatever reason you have for not doing so yet is based on misinformation. Download superoneclick and go to it.

How much internal storage do you have left.

you can use box.com
