thanks for any help.
Yeah there should be an option under Settings > Call > Voicemail Options.
Somewhere in phone options you can put in your own number, (which is your voicemail number).

I'm using a rooted DC v2.0r2 Hero of course but before this I was using v1.0 which didn't support the Sprint Visual Voicemail. Well, this should be fixed now and I thought simply changing my voice mail service in the phone would work but I keep getting sms voice messages when someone leaves a voice mail. When I dial 1 for my voicemail it takes me to the GV which I used with DC v1.0.
Forgive me but I can't find out how to route my voice mails back to sprint, I have searched and googled and all I can find is how to go TO GV but not BACK.
Any solutions or something I've done wrong?

Go to settings > Call > Select Voice Mail Service > Select My Carrier > Set your voicemail number toooo I think your cell number or *86 I can't remember which. Someone can fill in that detail. Mine is still setup for GV.
if you where using GV to get VVM on 1.0 then you have to go in and reprovision your VM so that sprint stops forwarding your VM to GV. Just like you had to provision it to go to GV buy dialing *27googlenum, dial *38 and listen for the provisioning tones.
So, do I have to dial *27mynumber or do the *38 and is there anything else after that?
Thanks
Just *38 and listen for a tone. (have to hit the call button obviously)
been rooted since Nov, Tried a variety of roms, but it seems that the Google Voice Voicemail is not actually recordingmy voicemails and notifying me.
I tried unisntalling and re-installing the App. Any other suggestions?
Running DC 2.08.1
Did you go online to your Voice account and set up the service with your phone? You have to go on and follow the instructions on the site to set up the conditional forwarding to Google Voice. Then you open the app, set it up, change your voicemail number to your Google Voice number, and you should be set.
It will give you a set of numbers to dial to set it up. It is something like *29 followed by your voice phone number. Go to the help section to find it. It won't allow you to do it from the settings menu alone on sprint.

I have been having serious troubles reverting back to my T-Mobile voicemail account after installing and using Google Voice for a little while. While Google Voice is no longer on my phone, my voicemail still goes to Voice's server instead of T-Mobile's. I have tried disabling my phone number through the setting's on Voice's webpage, but it won't let me! I am so frustrated by this! I would really appreciate any help I can get! I can't seem to find anything about removing it anywhere!
Hi, couldn't you just go into settings, call, voicemail service and select "my carrier?" That should revert it back to stock.
You have to go into your call forwarding settings in Settings/Call.and turn all 4 settings off.

I had this happen to me and the only way to get it back to T-Mo VM was to enter in an MMI code to enable conditional call forwarding back to the t-mo number.
I forgot what the code sequence was, but I got it after googling.

You don't need to know the code. You can do it right from the phone in the call forwarding settings.

Thanks so much guys! That fixed it! I don't know what I'd do without this community!
The voice mail notification is there but I have no voice mails. I have looked everywhere and cant find how to get rid of it. Can anyone help?
Guess I am alone on this I have deleted Google Voice, called my old voice mail number and made sure that there was nothing there, factory reset and wiped it. I have no clue how to clear this notification. This along with the left side of my touch screen being unresponsive might just have to take it back.
It's down to the carrier to clear it, not you.
Leave yourself a vm, then delete it... Bingo!

I had the same problem. Soon as I got my phone, the voicemail icon appeared.
If you're using Google Voice, this is how I fixed it:
Change voicemail from Google Voice to My Carrier.
Settings > Call Settings > Voicemail Service
Stop Voicemail Forwarding:
Go to google.com/voice > Settings > Deactivate Google voicemail on this phone
(If you're with T-Mobile, it's: ##004#)
Then call your number and listen to your non-existing voicemail. Once you hung up, the notification should be gone.
You can change the setting back to normal (voicemail carrier and voicemail Forwarding).
To re-activate voicemail forwarding (for T-Mobile):
*004*1----------#
Replace dashes with your 10-digit Google Voice number.
Hope that helps.

This is what I did when I got mine. I had the same problem.

I had this issues when I got my Nexus S, I had AT&T, Google Voice, then ported my number to T-Mobile. I had a Voicemail from 805 number (T-Mobile), took a while to properly port over. I tried all kinds of things, then after my AT&T SIM finally disabled, I turned off GV, called my own, left a voicemail, checked the voicemail and it fixed itself. Now back to GV for voicemails.
Thank you for all the suggestions I didnt get to read this till after I got home from work. I ended up taking my phone back and got a replacement. As soon as I popped my sim in the voicemail notification popped up. Same problem as before so I drove home. I called T-Mobile and switched to the new sim card that came with the phone. Called my voice mail hung up the notification is gone. So somehow my sim card was causing the error.
I have my google voice setup so when someone call my GV # it is supposed to show up on my fascinate as the GV #. When my phone rings it shows up as "Voicemail" even though I have my GV # setup under a different contact name. There isn't even a "voicemail" contact setup on my phone or google accounts. I previously used this same setup with my OG Droid and DX and the call would show up as my GV contact name. Has anyone else had this issue?
Just to clarify, you have"Caller ID (incoming)" set to "Display callers number" in GV's settings, correct? What rom/kernal are you running? I've never had this issue.

No I have it set to "Display my Google Voice Number", but it shows up on my phone as "Voicemail" when the call is coming through. I don't have a phone contact or a google contact for "Voicemail". I do have my google voice # setup as a contact. That is what I want to see when I get a call on my GV #.
I just corrected the problem, but I'm not sure why this fixed it. I went into seetings, applications, manage applications, google voice. I then clicked on "Clear Data" and now it shows up as my GV contact when I receive a call on that number. Very strange.
Glad you fixed it. A great deal of problems can be solved that way (clearing cache, fixing permissions, etc). Out of curiosity, are you using the hack on this forum that redirects the voicemail button on the dialer to gv?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Thanks. No I actually haven't seen that one. Have you tried it?
I haven't since I still call my verizon vm occasionally (the gf and I both use gv, but in order to get m2m minutes we just call eachother's actual cell number). But I thought that could have been a possible culprit. Actually, do you have gv setup to handle all your vm, including your verizon number? Because then I could see how it would recognize your gv number as vm.
Revelation here - just had a "doh!" moment when I realized I could make my life much easier by consolidating all my vm under gv instead of rolling two separate inboxes. Nice!

I do use GV for all of my voicemail. I've been running it like that since I had my original Droid and it's great.
Then it's possible that could've been what caused the problem, can't think of anything else. Just switched my vm over, not sure why I didn't do this earlier.
