Hi there
I was wondering how to cook a rom for the EVO shift, Ive seen kitchens out there for other devices but none for the evo, is there any kitchen or rom cooking process out there for the evo shift?

I'd like to know how to zip and sign the file (if it needs a signature)
I want to take a stock rom (from preludedrew) and remove some stuff and add a few things.
Search the site..there are many far and wide topics on creating your own rom/app and signing them

A few weeks back, I could get this working on a Sense FroYo rom. (for the life of me, I can't remember what one it was)
Since flashing different roms, I haven't been able to make it work on any. Always results in the contacts app being removed.
Any ideas what the problem could be?

Really nice.
Di someone succed to flash that on a CM6 ROM? I'm too afraid to do that.
Works on latest DeFrost.
I love the theme, especially the dialer look.

Sound more complicated, here are some stuff I don't Understand very weel.
They are located from post #16 in the original thread you linked in first post:
"U have to rename the file cm6phone.APK to Phone.apk and then dump it in the update.zip, reflash and goodluck. Thanks all"
"I think the CM Rom owners need to get some help from their romdev gurus there"
"No that recovery update is for stock rom owners,
this mod is not working for CM6 users"
Yeah, I don't think its working for CM6. Check the first post in that thread, it links to a few pages for cm6 users.

Yeah, I tried the CM6 modified version, and they work pretty well.
Unfortunately, they are not up-to-date with the screenshots ( older version)
I cannot believe that someone here is not intersted by porting this theme to CM6 to our Desire...
Would be awesome
The complete theme looks sweet (not only the contacts.apk) ! Might try porting it soon, but hoping someone will do it sooner

It really does. Had a look at it earlier and it makes me want a Nexus One along side my Desire.

I want to install and play around with the Android ROMs that are available for HD2. I was wondering if there is a way I can make an image of my ROM as it is right now, and later on flash it back if I don't like the Android ROM on my HD2.
Save time and read the 1st and 2nd sticky posts on this page. Everything you need to know is all there. Also, I know rules are a b*tch, also explained there, make sure you follow them and avoid any incoming angry posts about not using the "search" function. To answer your question, Android runs off the memory card so windows is shut down prior to booting android, they're isolated for the most part. Hope that helps.

I know that Android runs off the SD card, but that was not my question. They recommend that a very light version of WM be installed prior to running Android and I can understand why. However, if I install the light version of WM I will loose whatever I currently have. That is why I am wondering if there a way I can create an image backup of my current ROM.
Are you running a stock rom? There's a sticky in the tmousa rom section with links to all the stock roms. It's easier to just grab a copy, you'll just need to back up your data.
Yes... I am runing a stock ROM. Any good backup apps to recomand that can backup my programs, settings and data?

I didn't change my WM ROM, it's shut down by haret. So unless you're having specific problems like that awful robovoice then you shouldn't worry about changing your rom. As for backup, I use SPB or Sprite backup, the latter my preference.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I use SPB...works the best IMO. I've actually had to use it a few times after changing the zimage...it seems to kill my sense every time I load a new zimage.
I get that bad robot voice, what to doo you recommend I switch to? I have a stock Rom right now with the latest radio.

I flashed my HD2 to the radio suggested but I still get that high pitched Robot Voice..Maybe a custom ROM is required?
Hi I'm getting one of these tomorrow and I was just wondering what the best custom rom is for this tablet as iv read loads that say that you really need a custom rom to get the best from this tablet?
Also is the market fully functional?
And
How easy is it to root and flash custom roms I have had lots of experience with the htc desire....
And what's the chance of honeycomb on this device and any idea of a time frame?
Thanks
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You can choose among the assortment we have here in XDA and in the MoDaCo forums as well. The market works properly, but you need a custom ROM. Rooting and flashing ROMs is quite simple, and Honeycomb won't come anytime soon. I use the MoDaCo Custom ROM with performance enhancements. Beware though that the MoDaCo ROM Kitchen requires a subscription fee...
Thanks where would I get the rom from and how much is the enhancement pack and is it a one off fee?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Actually you only need the subscription at modaco for the performance pack, and the performance pack has already been posted here by original_ganjaman because its a tegra driver update. Should be in the development forum.
Where can I download the rom and the pack from?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You dont need to flash a full rom. Try my new rom add-on. Very simple to install, and only puts the basics on so you can have a play with modding it further yourself.
With the performance pack, pauls rom is based from v1.08 firmware so it needs it. It does not matter what firmware is on the device before, you will end up with v1.08. There are some hacked versions around that are stripped back versions that dont install all of the v1.08 firmware parts. The performance pack is not needed in v1.09 firmware as it is (in my opinion) faster.
Rom Add-on Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931337
Hope that helps

ALL of my stuff is free
Thanks for that so for this I don't need to do anything to the device out the box?
How do I flash the addon pack?
Does this matter what firmware I am on out of the box?
Thanks

Step 1:
Well, if you are on firmware version 1.09 (you can check this in 'Settings', 'About Device') then you don't need to flash anything, and you can go to Step 2.
If not, get it from here:
http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/softwareImage_v1.09_Vega_Final.exe
Main site link:
http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/
Also download the software update manuals and 'USB Update Driver', to help you install the update. The 'FULL' software update guide is the one you'll need.
Step 2:
Once you are done, just follow original_ganjaman's instructions from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931337
That should be it!
What HunteronX said.
Nice one
Perhaps an up to date, "how to flash your rom" sticky is worth thinking about. I remember back in the day it was quite a hassle to get the usb drivers working etc.

You could also youtube it
Will all us HD2 users ever be able to download .zip ROMs straight from ROM Manager? And possibly even have Cyanogen nightly support for HD2?
I was just wondering as this would make installing new ROMs so much easier, instead of having to connect to my PC etc.
Replies welcome.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
isnt that what CWM does? you download the zip to your phone and flash fromthe phone, no need to hook to a pc
Yes but so far there is no support for HD2
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
Just come on here through mobile and download that way, how easier could it get?
Yes but it would be much more practical, and we wouldn't be able to receive nightlies, and not all Roms are on here! If you look in rom manager in the desire sections there are lots of roms I have never seen mentioned on xda before

I can't download hyperdroid from rom manager it says file is corrupt
Also cyanogen 7.0 does download but. When its done it ask me to clear data and it then reboots
To my old Rom.

Youre right.
I use desire z, and has Rom Manager installed.
If I want to flash new rom, I just open the ROM Manager and let it download and run it. And it will reboot to the new rom (custom Rom, actually)
But, I usually cannot stay long, I always go back to stock rom because I really miss sense UI
Cheers

Does anyone know how to put rom control task manager and jb sourcery tool on NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.6.zip???? i tried putting them in the zip file under system/app before i installed it. the install went great but when i tried task it was an error and when i looked for rom control it wasn't there and when i tried jb sourcery tool it opened but it says only sourcery roms can use them. The reason i want these on this rom is because i tried them on other roms and they were awesome. So now im using NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.6.zip and one of the best so far i would like to know for my own to learn how to get make a rom or put files on them for my personal use. i would appreciate the help thank you
First you posted in wrong thread, make new in Q&A part of forum.
Second you are trying to install some system app from JB to ICS which in way you try won't work.
If you whish to learn how to cook own rom search for guides on hd2 forum, there isnt easy curve you must read, read and ofc read.
