When installing Dextermod 1.2 for elocity do I need to rename it. Are if anyone can give me the walk through steps due to be being a rookie at this.
There is a thread for this.
Look on the Android Development page in this forum and where you see the 1.2 mod thread open it and you will see detailed instructions along with a donation button.
Also you may want to refresh how to do a rom flash by going to elocity's website under support and firmware update.
That should give you all the info you need.
Makes a huge difference in the tab not only market but functionality wise as well.
Dexter is awesome.

I am new comer here and is not allowed to ask question in Developer Forum.
Can anyone relay my question to Dexter that :
After I have flashed his 1.3 version and found that the SD cannot be mounted, no system update service can be peformed since the SD card is not mounted. I wish to flash back to Dexter's version 1.2. That seems to work fine in the version 1.2.

I had similar issues, going back to boot loader and clearing cache brought everything back to normal. Watching a movie from my MicroSD right now actually

Hey all, just posting my experience upgrading from JF 1.51 US to the new OfficialCRC1 US (Fully loaded, see sig for link). Since JF has left us, its time to move on, like many of others here who worry about upgrading, wiping etc, wanted to let you know that the officialcrc1 is perfect to goto. (Cyans build is also great for those pioneers who keep up with his updates and always want the hottest items etc) Those of you who just want a clean upgrade with good performance I will recommend this one.
I upgraded perfectly! I was using Lucids script for apps2sd and the conversion to the new rom went flawless, no wipe, no force close issues nothing. My notes is as followed:
- Fixed my terminal issue where it was always in # even tho it wasnt in su mode. (Now the $ is back yeaaa)
- Emulators run ALOT smoother! (Yeaaa GBA doesnt skip as much)
- Speed has increased overall.
- Couple nice extras built in, Office and Wireless tether.
- Marketplace cache and everything else there has stayed perfectly. (Only thing that may change is various system settings)
- Compcache working perfectly and smooth, great expert setup mode to alter between that and linux-swap.
Now then notes to take care of before upgrading and notes for after:
- Turn off auto start on Swapper and/or SetCPU if you use them, as the rom handles that now.
- ODEX files, if you made odex files, this rom will remove them and on each boot, it will remove them. Lucids script is not able (As of the moment) able to recreate them. Upgrade to both the script and the ROM for handling/creating odex files are in the works for a update. So this fixed my tmobile visual voicemail.
Anyways, I am very happy with this rom build and wanted to make a post for anyone else who hesitates or worries like alot of us do when switching over rom builds. I will be posting benchmark results soon on my other thread.
So goodluck on your upgrades and thanks to JF for his work in the past. =)
Wait I thought if you went back to official than you would lose root, so how do you still have apps2sd, wi-fi tether, and compchace or linux swap since they are all root level access, are you sure that is an official rom and if so it might have something to do with the non wiping. Most likely you will lose root for sure with any ota updates. I am confuddle
Click OfficialCRC1 in my sig. =) Its what the dev calls it, Its a upgraded version of JF in a sense, Where JF kept it true to a Tmobile build, so is eno. =)
Yeah, that's not official since it is moddified, to give users the same feel as the stock roms but with su permissions and a couple other tweaks, so you might want to change it so people don't get confuddle, maybe stocklike crc1 build because this won't update with new ota s
Why change it? The dev himself on this thread has called it this. Anyone who knows the rom builds knows the name already. But Ill add Enos in it.
Great post, thanks for sharing
Hi Mysticales,
I read this post and am glad you're sharing your upgrade experiences with others. I'm also glad all went well for you when you when upgrading from a JF build to my newer CRC1-based-US ROM. There are also EU and ADP equivalents available.
I trust most users would have the same ease in upgrading.
So again, thanks for sharing your experiences, much appreciated!
To be clear, the ROM she speaks of is fully rooted and more info can be found here ...

Hi,
I bought myself yesterday a Magic (32A), but the pre-owner flashed it with Capyslide. a few things annoy me (GPS doesn´t work properly,...) so I want to recover the original status. Therefore I downloede the original Update (RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.3_release_signed_NoDriver.exe) but it doesn´t work - what shall I do?? please help me
Download and flash CursorSense rom from here....it's based on the last official 1.5 release and with little changes to it's integrity....it's also faster then official release is. But of course there are ways of making gps work. Btw if you wish to have gps working on cursorsense or even your original rom (which can also be found here, rooted), you first need to reflash the radio because 2.1 roms don't get along with 1.5 on new radio.
no link
sorry but there was no link - how can i install it?
For that, I cannot help you because I would have to write a looong text to explain it all to you. First of all, you need to place rom in zip format to the root of your sdcard, reboot into recovery and wipe data and after that flash the rom....you can find lots and lots of tutorials here and you need to read them all....very carefully. Btw this is not for dev related, but general. And as for the links, for pit's sake, there's a search function here and also numbers down below for you to select on what page you wish to go....you'll find it probably either on this first page or second.
Moved to General since it's not about ROM Development.
flash radio
what radio should i flash?
would this be the way

OS_Acer_1.100.39.EMEA.GEN1
Does not work for everyone
Link to Mirror with fast DL
I found it also in the Acer official Driver Download page...
I'm from Italy, but i notice that if you visit the page from USA you can't see it.
I'm newbie... so, I can't insert url
If you go to the Italian site, you have to select "Android 2.1 Eclair" where there is "Sistema Operativo"
P.S.
Sorry for my bad english
anyone tried this? how is it? is it worth the update from the .05 w/lain-suxsem (that is really fast and stable)

ill wait for an LCR customized version of this bin
I rooted my Liquid from firmware 2.000.16.EMEA.CUS1 to Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 and now installing this but whats the difference between this and LCR_1.7 by:malez2000?
this is a official stock rom, the official upgrade for acer liquid by acer.
yeah i know its the official one. So i guess i am asking if the LCR1.7 is based off a older leaked rom. does it have benifits to install that version instead of this offical.
However, I have sinced installed the official so i am running that now. I would still like to know if the LCR is better.
additionally dont want to start a new thread, can you hide the apps in the menu? I know you cant uninstalled stock apps as they are built into the rom but remove them from the menu. Out of sight out of mind type thing.
After installing and using the new 2.1 ROM during a few days, I'm out of internal memory space.
I've uninstalled most of the applications, but I'm unable to recover more than a few Mo
So I'm not actually completely happy with the new room.
IF you are willing to root your device, you can use malez recovery to move apps to sdcard. It creates a partition (generally 500 megs+) onto your sdcard allowing you to place your apps there. If that runs low, you can go back into recovery and move davlik cache onto sdcard.
If you do this, I think you need a custom rom which is compatible with apps2sd.
I would wait until one of the many cooks in this community make one based on this newest bin.
I downoladed this one and installed it today on my Acer Liquid. Strangely enough, I couldn't find it on acer support page. Tried different countries and languages - nothing. They might have removed it because it has bugs?
Anyway, tried this download - 2.1 is much better looking than my old 1.6.
If I get any problems I'll post them here.
Hi all,
yes, I dont like people who join forums just to ask one question either, but I promise, as much as I am sure this question 'must' be covered somewhere, I have searched for ages on forums and youtube install videos to gain clarification.
So.. if you are feeling charitable, all I want to know is:
For a new vegacomb install on a machine ( a viewsonic 10s to be precise) with the stock rom (2.2), my understanding is that I would
1. install the modded stock rom (v2), and then (and here is where it confuses me)
2. I think install the file "VegaComb_HC3.2_Build9n.zip"
Thbis is important, as the specific confusion is regarding 'eactly' which file to use from all the available ones.
I also believe that one could use "VegaComb HC3.2 9b Installer.exe " on its own, but with no video tutorials of this and, from my reading, several people having problems, I am assuming my steps 1 and 2 listed above would be the reccomendd route.
I would re-emphasise though if I may, that I would like to be 100% sure what actual file I should be using.
Thanks all for your kindness.
PS. I also have read that not all 10s's can be updated to vegacomb, but I only read this once. Though not a core part of my question I was wondering if anyone else had this information?

You have it correct!! But First, BACKUP!! original rom, just in case you have issues
1. Install modded stock rom
2. Install Vegacomb HC3.2_Build9n.zip
3. Install HC3.2_Build9n Update3.zip (install immediately after installing Build9n.zip no need to reboot)
If your new to rooting, make sure you read up on wiping data and cache, making backups etc.. before trying anything.
Then your good to go!!
I say back up your original because I have a viewpad 10s, and it would not work with any of the newer roms (Vegacomb 3.2, HoneyIce etc..) because of touchscreen issues. I found Corvus5 rom is the only one that behaves with my Viewpad, and only after I ran his calibration tool in the app drawer.
Good Luck Rooting!!

All ViewSonic ViewPad 10S (Tegra2 based) can be upgraded to VegaComb ROM!
But not ViewSonic ViewPad 10 (no "S" here). Because that is a completely different tablet that is based on Intel Atom and can run in dual-boot (Android+Win7).
And to understand the difference between 9n and 9b read the first post of VegaComb ROM thread again.
9n - "N" as in Normal system partition (UK/US residents, people with system corruption issues,..).
9b - "B" as in Big system partition (lots of languages, newer gapps,...).
Read it again and all will be clear.
Thank you
Appreciatte your kind responses.
Hadnt heard of the Corvus rom.. but then being new to this and not having received my 10s yet, I guess that isnt too suprising. Ill have a look at it.
Will certainly back up as suggested given the various levels of success reported (although I imagine more people comment when things dont work, than when they do).
I will reread re: 9n and 9b as I hadnt realised the difference you highlight. I hope I can work out what is most suitable for my Australian sources tablet.
Thanks again.

No Problem!!
Just take your time, read the tutorials, and know you can always recover it back to stock, if things get screwed up. Probably the hardest part, is finding a male to male usb cable to plug computer to tab to get started.
And while there is not a lot of postings in the Vega forums, there are some great people, Yani2000, Vujke025, Beegee1962, and others that are very knowledgeable, and kind, answering everyone's questions, and fixing problems.
Best thing you can do is hit the "Thanks Button" next to there post if they helped you.
Now go turn your tab into the monster even your ipad friends will envy!!
I updated with the following post in AndroidTablets.net, the post ROM Viewcomb Honeycomb 3.2.
it's very very easy
Ah, cool, you're the dev that makes the Honey Ice ROM, right?
Try posting in the welcome thread and get attention of the willverduzco moderator.
Good luck!

Check this thread to use the latest version of android from wm6.5.
Since the advent of NativeSD, SD android builds have not been updated as frequently as before due to the increased performance NativeSD provides.
Edit; Even though original SD development has slowed recently, this is still a development forum. You should have posted this in the Q&A section, perhaps the mods would be so kind as to move it there.
