Flashing ROMs time - XPERIA X10 General

I just want to make an statistic about how much time takes a ROM to be flashed:
Please help posting like this:
-XPERIA PHONE VERSION
-ROM NAME & VERSION
-TOOL NAME & VERSION
-DESKTOP/LAPTOP CPU
-DESKTOP/LAPTOP OS
TOTAL TIME IN MINUTES FROM CONNECT PHONE TO FINISH FLASHING PROCESS
This statistic could help people closing flash client or disconnecting phone by mistake, thinking that the process crashed or freezed.
Im somekind noob in developers language sorry about that.
(PS. Yes im having trouble flashing, im taking more than 30 mins in UNBRICK tool and i just close and disconnect)

I don't have the time to do as u request but I can say that it doesnt take long at all. If u know what ur doing it should be about 10 min.... depending hot much ur doing.
30 min to flash anything is crazy tho

data2system

hello all
i just created interesting thing
as you know system partition is bigger than data.
custom firmwares is small enough to move it to userdata partition
so we can get 245 mb for userdata!
here is my post on 4pda: tinyurl . com / data2sys
setup via cwm recovery 2518 backup and restore -> restore
note: there no way to apply update.zip to firmware, as system partition realy contains userdata
nobody interested?
this thing realy works! i've got 245 Mb for your data without app2sd!
there are 3 links in my post on 4pda representing ready to restore recovery images with 3 different firmwares:
2.3.2v1.4b by Mur4ik+gapps
2.1 + kernel 0.3.1 by Quarx
2.2.1 OpenSwift 4.4 kernel 1.5
Well can you post the links? Prefably separately.
Do you have problems with data cashe? If you use whole memory for apps, where cashe will be stored?

It's very handy

No it does not!
it works the same way... there is no difference in partition... just size
ps: however.. you can install much more applications rather than without this mod.. so the may slow down the phone..
Hi all..
I just want to say that this mod is working very well, no problem whatsoever. Now I still have around 100 MB free space in my phone (around 100 user apps, only games are moved to SD )
Thanks for Anton_ch for this mod.hope u can make other mod if newest rom comes out.

Hello i just see this post lol man change it to developers threads.
Is there a posibility you can do this for superfast froyo?
I've always had problems with Mur4ik versions i find them not reliable, after sometime it starts to lag and is not stable also has bugs like the battery one.
Congrats for your good work!
Maybe i give this a try someday.

Mur4ik released 1.9 of Swiftdroid
Can you update?
And one question: How can I flash this? Like a new Rom via Recovery?
GOOD WORK
You can flash it by:
1. Unzip catalog with this files: system.img, data.img
2. Paste this catalog to ->Clockworkmod->Backup
3. Go to recovery.
4. Search Restore option and click on it.

Indroid was the 1st custom rom i flashed on my G3. Before this I was very new to all these. I am only waiting for a simple way to partition and use Indriod FSC then I will post in this thread some troubleshoot for newbies which I felt during Indroid ROM flashing. hope that will make life easier for those who want to flash it but worried about errors.
Can i overclock my indroid 4.2 ?? And are there some risks? will my telephone die?

Btw you can also reduce system sound with the volume key on the left side right? Doesn't that work?

you haven't partition'd yet?
Use minitool and partition your sd..I could make a video on using ext4 as data on indroid if you want me to?
I'd show from start in the video if you'll want it.
And Indroid FSC is used after making an ext partition on sd not before.

ok i will when i get time..
I installed indroid 4.2. Everything seems to work, except the gps and usb-connection.
It takes a very long time to get a fix on gps. When i finally get get a fix and i give a location in google navigation, it crashes.
About the usb-connection, the first time i connected to my pc, it worked. But after that, it doesn't work anymore. When i connect my sg3 to my pc, it thrils ones and that's it.
Any ideas?

as of now its just over clocked to 800Mhz so i recommended to stick with 667Mhz version ie standard version.

If you have updated the kernel to beta 3 then stick to it no need to reflash

combination of xultimate and dex2.3.2 as suggested. the key is to use dex2.3.2 and use custom rom..then input all the jar files in yout bootclasspath... this should deox everything but bluetooth.apk and framework-res.apk.
you can then use ultimatex to deoc the bluetooth.apk..
so your left with framework-res.apk... but guess what? i modified mine and it already deox.. so i manually moved it over and viola...
pushed to phone, removed all the odex files, reboot.. reboot took a good 5 minutes.
Some things were broken when first boot up, but i resolved those fairly quickly.. gonna try it out today and see about adjust the compression level... I am on compression level 9 now and I am hoping my battery doesn't suffer. But we will see... Once i find an adequate level of speed and battery I will release.
Just saw ur rom screen shot ... JUST LOVING IT , I HAV BLK STREAK BUT WOULD LOV TO TRY UR ROM . JUST PURCHASD FULLY RED SKIN from skinit.com to make my streak look fully red

Personally I prefer to leave them uncompressed, as its seems more stable and a bit quicker, not exactly stuggling for either rom storage or ram with the streak.

How to make ur z1 smoother, faster ,better.

Hi everyone,
Is ur z1 becoming slow or long time to boot or load files
I have a solution just follow it step by step
1.Install latest seeder.apk from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987032
Use v2.0 for best performance
Root needed
Set to moderate.
tick all blocks
Reboot once in recovery and wipe dalvic
2.get the doom kernal from here it will obviously boost z1
Linkhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448613
Just read what is in the kernal thread don't blame me for damaged device.
Boot in clockwork mod and fix permissions after installation.
you're done ur phone will be faster with any rom.
Any Qs just reply don't quote
Cheers!!!!:beer::beer::beer:

Why does this need DooMKerneL?
And if it does need DooMKerneL then it requites an unlocked bootloader not just a rooted device
I left to mention that as lot of commotion is goin on with 4.4 I am busy developing so sorry for that
As per I know as kerbsl changes performance changes and I have actually seen the effect of this kernal
If u think it is an advertising for doom kernal ur wrong!

I used Dooms work for a long time on my XS and I still do and only I can say - It's awesome kernel with great features and possibilities...but...
For now, I wouldn't advise unlocking bootloader - if someone fixed camera problem after bootloader unlocking then forget this.
But I would definitely recommend Dooms kernel once we fix BL issues...
What is great to see is how our section (Z1) getting bigger and bigger day after day and we are discovering more things every day...
So, thanks to all who are trying to help and to work on this great device

Is anyone really experiencing performance issues with his/ her Z1? Mine is still as snappy as when I bought it, and that's with a lot of Apps installed.
I would not recommend messing with the Kernel for now (although I really like Dooms work, I have been using his Kernel on my Xperia S too).
Same here, my Z1 is as smooth as butter

I've only had the Z1 for a few days and haven't noticed any slow down either. My device is still fairly stock.

Important Discovery for Batery Management - 36 to 48 hours

Hy guys.
I want to give you a very important feedback regarding the ROM Omega - v59. The new version from Indie, Omega v59 is consuming very little power but in a strange way that was discovered by chance and now confirmed by Indie - the developer.
Omega v59 was installed after i flashed another ROM (glamourS4N3finalv4.zip)
Steps:
Download bothe roms:
- Glamour S4N3finalv4.zip - from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-glamours5-s3-touch-s5-version-7-0-t2258723
- Omega v59 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-omega-v58v50-14-34-1-2omega-t1663656
put them on SD card or External
1. Format and wipe all, then (you know the procedures, or read in the instructions of each ROM) install glamourS4N3finalv4.zip
and then
2. Flash Omega v59
and voila...you have battery for at least 36-48 hours with all functions 3g and all.
You may turn useless function for better results...there are threads for that.
I do not know how this is possible because I am no programer specialist but you can check for yourself.
I guess that you look into details and see if you can make more guys happy like me.

- wipe cache, dalvik cache
- install Omega v59 (the newest)

I am not kidding, you can ask even the Developer of Omega - Indie that can confirm this.
I did not turn off the wi/fi or 3g internet and did not used 2g instead.
I repeat, I do not understand how is this possible. It was a fluke.
