Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App

Just insert a card from another network provider. If It asks for unlock code, then it's locked.

Unlock Code ?

What I don't understand:
When trying to start the gsm function of the xda with a "foreign" sim-card it tells me to enter the Access-Code in order to unlock the phone.
In this case there must exist a certain defined code which lets you unlock everey xda.
I am asking myself if there has probably already been a clever person trying to get this code somehow. Or am I totally wrong and it is necessary even for O2 to connect the device to some sepcial equipment.
From my understanding every single phone/pda etc has its own unique unlock code, abit like a PUK code.
It is made up using digits from the phone number, SIM IMEI and the Device IMEI number, only the service provide i.e. Orange, O2, Vodafone will have the sequence for this.
Just use the XDA Unlock tool listed on the XDA Developers site.
Hope this helps

Unlocking
...or just try that with a serial cable connected to your XDA and have a terminal program (eg. Hyperterminal) running on your PC:
... some of these things are pretty easy
once you know the trick. For instance, if you just put the XDA
in bootloader mode and enter "dualser", followed by
"AT%UREG?3FE00C,4", you will see the SID unlock code. More news
about all the things we've learned will be available soon on our
GSM research page...

Write down this SID-Code and use it when you insert a foreign SIM-Card.

HELP for unlocking my htc hd

I have bought a unlock code on the website, but the something wrong with my phone, they told me put a non-accepted sim card in to the phone and put the pincode in, but when I put the non-accepted sim card in, the phone cannot recognize it and I can not find where to put the pin code in, please help me. many thanks.
here is the information they told me:
1 Insert the NON-ACCEPTED SimCard
2 Turn ON the device and type the PIN code of the NON-ACCEPTED SimCard
3 Device should then bring up 'Phone Restricted' message on the screen
4 You can now type the Unlock Code : *******
5 Submit: Your device is now unlocked!

HTC HD2 Win7
After I install win7 on my htc hd2, it's a nice but keep asking me for the activate key all the time and i don't have access to download any application and i need a program can show me all the file inside , and facing now a problems no space in the phone even that i have 16 gb are empty but the phone using any of that is using the phone memory
Here is link to thread where you will find all you need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912218
When you call MS customer service just tell em some BS about why you needed to restart your phone and that now ask Activation key for you access anything.
Phone is HTC HD7 and contact number can be any number (mobile or land line) that they can use for callback but they will not .
Make sure you write code somewhere safe so you don't have to do this again...and again...
PS. For SD card... before doing anything form thread above:
1. Put SD you want to use in your phone.
2. Go Settings>About>Restart Phone
3. Run initial setup, sync whit your computer using Zune
4. Go to that thread above and work your magic.
no need to call use chat - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921309 - worked for me, no hassle...

Can't get MSL code(Shows blank, screenshots)

Hello! im stuck on the step where i type in getprop ril.MSL i only get a blank space
i.imgur.com/ZaKBhQO (DOT) jpg
here a screenshot of the cmd line
I made sure to type in the wrong code first before running the commands
I tried running from the computer after connecting to the phone and command line emulator on the phone itself, same thing, blank.
Phone is jailbroken and is downgraded to MDC
Samsung Galaxy S4 Sprint
Update: I installed Get My MSL and it gives me this error "could not get property ril.msl"
Bump:
Anyone? any ideas at all? I don't need a sim card in the phone for this process right?
Try this one and I'm not sure about having the sim but you need a data connection.
