[req] sms bkp app on gmail - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

It would be great if anyone could write a program for WP7 so we could backup our text messages to Gmail, just like smsbackup+ does for android.
so we can sync from one OS to another, I really like WP7 too, the only things I miss is a homescreen, and this.

Same here, can be done on WM6.5, Android, iOS but not WP7, wat an embarrassment for WP7 ....

I would like to try the Android builds for a while but when you fire up from SD the builds dont seem to be able to access the Contacts details etc on the device - am i missing something that allows this ?

Winmo to outlook, outlook to Gmail, Gmail to Android.
That's what I did.

[REQ] App to Sync WinMail w/Android Mail for DualBoot HD2's

Now that Android is close to a very stable reality, I have a choice between booting my HD2 into WinMo or Android (and probably WinPhone 7 shortly). Each OS has its advantages, and that is what makes the HD2 such a versatile device.
However, since my plans would be to boot into WinMo or Android depending on mood, preference, or requirements, there is one thing that would be really helpful...
In each OS instance, I receive my POP/IMAP and/or Exchange mail. The accounts are replicated in both WinMo and Android. It would be nice if there was a "sync" application that either in the background, or on-demand, would synchronize the received/sent folders from WinMo<-->Android in real time. We know we can access both file systems on the HD2. I would assume there'd have to be two separate apps, one running in the active instance (either WinMo or Android).
Anyone have a requirement such as this, and are there any takers for the challenge?
Just presenting food for thought... I can't program worth diddly anymore.
Doesn't IMAP accomplish that to some extent? It is not synchronized but all activity is mimicked in each client.

Hey JonSolo,
I may not have been specific enough. What I am looking for is this:
Let's say I was booted in WinMo. Throughout my "business day", I enter and receive mail regularly. As I enter mail on my HD2, I would like the mail data file in the Android file system to be updated as well. So now, the next day, I decide to boot into Android. When I start my mail there, all the mail I sent from my HD2 would show up in the Android instance as though I had sent them while in Android. Now, let's say I enter mail from my Android instance. Likewise, when I decide to boot into WinMo, I'd like all those mails sent from Android to show up in my WinMo mail.
You are correct that Imap will accomplish something similar, but first, it would require me to have an email account that supports Imap (POP wouldn't work), and second, Imap would still have an initial "sync" time...
I suppose a project like this would require knowledge of the two system's mail file structure, and also be able to access files from both file systems.
Make sense, or clear as mud?

Android & WinMo & Android Sync

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
for a few days now I'm a proud owner of an android(SD)-booting Leo.
I still use WinMo every now and then.
Is there a way to keep contacts and (most important) sms synced? I mean from WinMo to Android and the other way round. I know a lot of apps for contacts, but for sms it's really only WinMo to Android and not vice versa.
TIA,
Arcat
PS: Give me something to answer, only 2 posts (i guess) to signature enabled ,) )
Well you can use your gmail account to sync between winmo and android as far as I know, google it there is a solution I think.
Or you could try this out, not sure if it auto syncs but it can migrate.

Thank you,
already tried googlemail with activesync. works fine, but sms excluded.
http://spb.com/android-software/migration/ is, as always, only from winmo to android and not vice versa.
Have you thought about "MyPhoneExplorer"? Lets you sync with outlook, export SMS, etc... Then you could use activesync on the winmo side...kinda wonky but might fit you needs...

Share contacts, sms, etc... between winmo and android sd rom?

is that possible so that when u boot to android, u can still use winmo contacts and view sms, emails etc...
No
short answers are efficient...
but...
Yes... if you make your own build, modify completly android in order to make an OS which run "virtualy" on a NAND to read data from another NAND provided by another OS.
Don't want to be rude but if you ask this question, you don't have the knowledge to do it. But:
You can transfer your data from WinMo to Android if you want:
1/ Use "SpriteMobile" softs (go on their website it's free apps)
2/ use my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951567 and synchroniz both OS with outlook.
I like to make my own promotion!!!
By this way I will have 2 users who have read my post
thx for the answer!
syncing contacts with 2010 outlook is hard because there is no export contacts option. however, there is a patch for outlook that enables it. i uploaded all my contacts to google account and then back on android. i think there is an app that provides similar thing for text messages.

Ok... the post will not answer your question... it's just to makeyou clic
No seriously, it can give some idea.
For your SMS you can use "spritebackup". It gives the ability to migrate data from WM to Android... but doesn't work on AOSP.
With the soft in my post you can only backup SMS o your computer but you can't send them back to your device.
Anyway read my post

Dealing with Google/Outlook sync

Hey,
I'd like to revert to wm6.5 for a while for several reasons and I'd like to now if there's a way to keep Google as my main account. Let me rephrase : I'd like to keep using Contacts, Gmail, Calendar, etc. and see them sync with WinMo 6.5, whether it would be through Outlook or anything else.
Is it possible ?
Thanks !

Hi,
What android are you running?
If you are on NAND ,do you have SENSE ROM?
If you are on SENSE ROM, you can use Activesync to sync with outlook. This will keep your contacts and calendar.GMAIL will save with Google and you can open this using ANY operating system(pc or phone).
If you don't have SENSE ROM,there is a progam called MyPhoneExplorer ,which will also work.

Google has a program that syncs the google calendar with outlook, I use that to keep my schedule in sync with my android tablet.
