So when I called customer service today to get the activation key for WM7, the lady was nice enough and didn't ask me for imei or anything, but when she tried to generate keys, she said "none was available" and that i should "call back later today or tomorrow." How is it possible for their key generator to run out of possible combinations?? Or is she not being honest with me >.>
Yes, it seems that they have limited amount of keys per some time per country. This has been discussed in many threads and you just started one totally unnecessary thread and made XDA one bit more chaotic for people who are actually willing to find something useful before they post.

my mistake. please delete.
So our dialers don't work with Verizon Touch? I would think it would be the same as Sprint Touch. Didn't hear any complaints from our threads concerning Verizon Touch.

it would be nice if you ask our permission first if you are using our graphics before starting your own thread.

It works, think he just redid a few graphics. Definitely should have asked though.
sorry for starting a new thread. i did not want to confuse everyone. when i used your CDMA dialers i get the progress button label overlaid over your buttons. the verizon dialer uses blank buttons and dynamically places the button titles over them. i did not post this to take any credit away from you guys. i just thought a separate thread would be better since from the dialers seem to be different at least they are on my 6900 and the other that i tested this on.
feel free to have this taken down. just thought i would share this. i am not asking for praise or donations.
thanx again,

the sprint touch is the same way, and so are all "touch" dialres. My cab has registry changes that removes the labels. It works for most people but there are a select few that also reports the label still present. My theory is that with registry changes, if it doesn't ask you to soft reset, it takes a while for registry changes to take place and most people don't wait long enough and do a physical soft reset, thus the registry changes did not take place. Do me a favor, i'm sure you are happy with your dialer, but can you uninstall yours and install one of my v3 dialers again and wait at least 4 minutes before you "soft reset" and tell me if the labels persists (let me know in my thread). The 6900 verizon and sprint phones should have pretty much the same core dialers.
This is one of the reason why I would want these sort of post to be on the same thread, so the similar discussion that follows is in the same thread. But it is up to you if you want this separate thread going. You are always welcome to post this dialer in our thread. I will link it from the first post.
tom108,
I do hope you will repost your work in our thread. Others may like it.
Ok, I've searched, and I can't find a thread about this specifically, so I'll ask (please move this if its in the wrong place).
I don't like Manila, so I have it switched off. When using the application for sending SMS (which I am assuming is pocket outlook?), there are two soft buttons onscreen. The Right hand one is "Menu". the left hand one is "Delete". Is there any way to change this "Delete" button to "New"? I have recently swapped over from an XDA 2i and this had a "New" button, which makes more sense to me than a delete button.
Assuming that there is no way to adjust this button, I would consider DOWNGRADING my pocket outlook to the one used on my XDA. What is the probability of that working out for me?
Apologies if this seems like a dumb question....
No-one? No response at all? That's three threads I've posted so far with no response to any of them.
Great.
Maybe no one knows an answer to ypur question or, othher possibility, the ones who might have an answer are busy. Have patience and chek your posts regularly.

no response. great
Yes. You waited 4 whole hours for me to reply to your comment telling me to be patient wait for a worthwhile response. If you think giving it 4 hours before complaining about a lack of response is a long time, I suggest you check the datetime on my first two posts. Thats two days between comments, coupled with the fact nobody responded to my other threads either.
But thanks for undermining the point, you little twit. I understand that people here are here to help, and they do it for free. But a simple "Can't be done mate" comment wouldn't take 10 seconds, and I'd have my answer, instead of your really really poor interpretation of sarcasm.
I'm told that its the lowest form of wit.
please stay polite, I was just kidding on my "great" post. Sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention
It would of been great to be able to customise any button on our mobile like Excel 2003, drag and drop, replace actions etc but perhaps in future devices.
For now, the only way is Menu/New, but as a business phone I can see why "delete" has more preference, and one being due to receiving too many grouped/news emails that are usually deleted instantly.
You can see another examply where "Reply All" has higher priority then reply itself.
Have you tried to search for any 3rd party applications to see if you are able to reassign, perhaps through registry?
Hello everyone. I am a second year electronics student and am now working for my General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL). I am looking at having to memorize the answers to just under 700 questions. Its rather tough lol. The reason I am here is simple. I have searched and searched and have not found any software for my touch pro that will help me study for this test. I don't know how to write programs but I know that many of you out there do a phenomenal job. I am looking for someone that would write a program for me that would quiz me on all the questions for the GROL. In fact I believe that if one where interested in making a few dollars he or she could go all out and make a program that creates a full exam from the test question pool, then watches which ones the user gets wrong and makes sure to ask them more often. It would also be cool if a pop up window came up explaining the proper answer. I also think it would be nice to have a screen at the end showing results. I know at first this seams daunting but I do have software that came with my book that is close to this and could send you a copy. Also, the entire question pool is listed on the fcc website. It wont let me post the link here but if you contact me by email i can find it for you.
The GROL only requires sections 1 and 3. The only other program similar was marked at $40.00 and for the pc. Nothing has been found for the PPC where it makes the most sense. During random downtimes a person can do a few random questions here and there. I believe that if made to look nice with a nice touch style interface someone could post this to windows marketplace and sell it for $20.00 easily and make some nice cash on it. I would learn to program and do it myself if it weren't for the fact that I am in class now and need it ASAP.
Thanks in advance for all that entertain the thought of taking this on

It's not exactly what you said, but maybe you can use SuperMemo UX & SuperMemo Mobile. It's free software, but you will need to build your own course.

I know this is an older post. And I knkw what you mean, and are talking about. I am changing career fields into Avionics, and a classmate has an app for his (cry)Phone. But in the Google Play Store, they have some, but they are expensive for what it is ($19.99 and $12.99). I can't find anything except crApple. Absolutely no Android. I can't even find anything where someone ported the CD that is in the book over to Android and other platforms. I have coppied the files from the CD to a folder on my computer called "GROL." So I didn't have to have the CD in my computer the whole time. I'm going to graduate at the end of this month, and I only have Element 1 done. Partly its my own fault for waiting until now. But either way, I'll have 3 & 8 done. But it would be nice if I could take the studying with me when I have life going on and not by my computer. Lol
Android surpassed crApple, and yet we still get kicked to the curb.
wouldn't it be easy if there was a keygen for activating wp7 on hd2 ?
Yes there is , it is called Microsoft Support hot line
Yes.
Wouldn't it be easy if we just got money and didn't have to work for it?
Anyone want to add more pointless hypothesis?
if you can't follow this, you should retire from the Internet.
That Microsoft monitors posts and threads on XDA-Developers is not a very well kept secret. One wonders what their reactions are when they see all these threads popping up asking about code generators, and what those reactions might portend for the future.

Especially given that they have been kind enough to let us use the codes we obtained illegally!
There is a code generator. I know where. . At Microsoft office.
To the main point. It's not hard to get the activation code through:
-E-Mail
-Chat
-Call
I did it through e-mail.
Hope it help.
ive emailed and rang windows uk none stop to day, i think the uk has ran out of activation keys lol
Just ask Microsoft
I dont think theres much difference between having a key generator and lying to Microsoft about what phone you have.
Just email Microsoft tell them the truth about what you are doing and ask for a key. I did and they sent me a key no problem.

Actually I didn't lie .
The agent asked me what the brand of my device was . I told him it was an HTC .
Teeny Tiny Little White "honesty"
If anyone thinks that Microsoft Corporation is not aware of this sudden need for activation keys they are deluding themselves. Whether all customer service personnel are aware of this situation is of course another matter entirely. But, if anyone did develop a key generator, that would really be stepping over a line in the sand that I highly doubt Microsoft would easily overlook.
Microsoft have took a light approach to us HD2 users using WP7 on our handsets.
Why???
Simple answer, because they know we are doing everything legally.
Please moderators, block this thread as it is asking for Warez type of keygens and it is not wise for Microsoft to stumble across it.
What on earth were you thinking creating this thread for in the first place. Sorry but it is damaging to XDA.
You can't create a keygen because in the help central they create random keys and register it in their database, only after this registering you can enter this key and activate your phone..
Here's a simple manual to activate it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928695

I emailed Microsoft and said i had an hd2 and i wanted an activation code and they said that they don't support the hd2.
So i guess im SOL because i can't get it to work in the chat as well
who needs a keygen when you can just call them?

When youre telling them that you dont own a windows phone 7 device its your fault. You have to tell them that youre using a HD7 and for live services your phone must "look" like a hd7
seems to be a lot of different guides on how to activate wp7, but this is my guide for the UK. MS UK DO NOT PROVIDE EMAIL/CHAT SUPPORT FOR WP7!! so you will have to man up and call them
1. call Microsoft support on 0844 800 2400
2. press option 2, then option 7
3. when the operator picks up say you have purchased a new windows phone 7 and you are having problems using some of the services.
4. when they ask what sort of problems, say you are trying to add a windows live id but when you sign in it says there was a problem and it needs a code
5. the operator should be clever enough to know you mean an activation code, and will then ask for details
6. you will need to provide REAL details. the mobile numbers are being verified with either an automated call (asking if your quiery was answered) or a person asking the same thing
7. the operator should then generate a code for you
some helpful tips:
1. play dumb! try and sound like your not really sure what you need or what to do. it may mean you get given tedious step by step instructions, but its less suspitious. avoide words like product key, generate or any sort of 'techie' words. basically, pretend to be a technophobe mum!
2. dont sound nervous!
3. think of a good story in detail! i was never asked what happened to my origional code, but think of something so detailed it just has to be true! thing like kids making confetti out of the manual, your wife/partner throwing the box away but be prepared to answer some questions. what you dont want to do is say your wife binned it, then when the operator asks you questions (they are not allowed to have 5+ seconds of silence, so they fill it with small talk) you say you dont have a wife!
4. think of a place where you could have bought your phone. personally i would avoid saying ebay, but places like phones4you, carphone warehouse or mobile phones direct (online) are good bets as they are big retailers
5. dont panic if they call you asking questions! MS are bound to be catching on by now, so they may phone you asking if the query was resolved and what phone you ahve, where you got it from etc.
6. dont get cocky! dont start celebrating while your on the phone, codes can easily be blacklisted!
7. if you get asked for your IMEI, look at some of the unboxing/taking apart videos of the HD7 on youtube, you can usually see an IMEI on a box or the back of the phone
