If you cant get on e market place, you havent done the reg hack, i bet your HD2 still says leo70 in settings/about?? You should do this hack but need to be unlocked, goto the very good guides in the sticky roll up thread.
However, you add add the APN settings yourself by heading to : seetings/mobile network/add apn - get the settings from your provider if your not sure
Id advise you to get yourself unlocked and do the reg hack

3G Internet Help

First off hi all, been a background reader for a week or so now,
My XDA Exec has now landed and wondered if a nice soul could help a guy out.
Although i'm pc savvy phones are not my forte, i cannot seem to find in the manual info on how to access the internet via 3g ie when im in the boozer and not on my lan at home.
Can someone point in the right direction, do i need to set it up via new isp, 3g provider?? if so what are the settings for O2 uk
Many thanks
Hi,
I take it you have a 3g SIM from O2? If you have, you can get their setup settings from the O2 website and once those are in your Exec whenever you launch an app that needs internet access it "should" automaticly try and connect via 3g.
Cheers buddy will have a look
alternatively there is a link somewhere on the forum (try searching for O2 settings) that lets you download a cab with the settings and you just run the cab. it may look like its going to install o2 active, but it doesnt. Just choose Personal and it will install the connection settings

If you let the device starup as normal, with all O2 skins and customisation, then everything will be put in for you.
As it says in the manual....

Denmark - MMS and Datasettings

Hi
Maybe I should just write in Danish, but maybe some of you outside know the answer.
I have three MMS' and cant see them. I push the "download" button, but nothing happens.
I have updated the ROM once, from HTC (no changes though) and the phone is bought from 3 (www.3.dk) - Also called Hi3G. So if they had any settings on it, they are reset now.
I've called Customer Service, and usually, they dont know a thing about it.
AND... With my Noka 6280 there was the "Planet3" button, and for my P3600 I have bought the "Gold" for Planet3, but how to get in ?!?!
It doesnt need to be on internet u know. (it's trough GPRS right?)
So,, questions is:
How to get the MMS part to work, where and what settings?
How to use Planet3, where and what settings?

You need to reflash your phone with generic firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466404
I used the XA firmware, being American, it makes they keyboard map to $ and not £... trying to find a fix for that though...
Thanks but that wont be useful being in uk if u find a fix let me know.

I have flashed my phone with a generic rom (from Vodafone). If I install the WLAN fix cab, will it work? i.e. give me WLAN access for messenger? cos I dont want to screw any of my current settings up! On another point, will it give me WLAN access to emails etc?
Regards,
Alan
it did for me.
it will screw up ur settings a little bit. at least it will set another default connection for internet apps (my isp). but u can easily set it back to the old one.
then it used Wifi if its available. if not it did a GPRS connection for me. no matter what app i used.

Either the phone still has the default Vodafone ROM (in which you can't use Live on Wifi) or you have installed a new generic ROM (which can use Wifi).

The WLAN fix is just a load of registry setting changes, however it's for German Vodafone phone, so you will need to edit the APNs back to the UK ones.

go to connections-> connections and hit the advanced tab and set ur old default connection for Internet apps.
Any idea what to put in to get my default please
I have the opposite problem. I can only connect to MSN over Wi-fi and not with the data connection. I'm on T-mobile but have a sim free uk X1. How can i get the messenger to connect when connected to t-mobile internet? I have web'n'walk included and msn not working defeats the object of why i got it! The opera browser works fine with the data connection... Please help! Thanks in advance.

T-mobile Pro 2 Push Internet

I have been going through the t-mobile version of the touch pro 2 and I have not been able to find the settings for "Push Internet".
I did a quick google and found that the T-mobile EU version has removed it, so I assume that the US version also has the same problem.
Is this a rom upgrade issue or is there a cab that can be installed to override the t-mobile settings on the touchflo 3D 2.1?
Thanks,

Unless someone on this forum is really clever, I think that we will have to wait until we can flash to a different rom

I was hoping that like many things disabled from the pro 2, a quick registry hack might be possible. Anyone know how?
sorry, removed! but at least the FM radio and extra camera settings are found on this blog!
try in here...
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila.
among the sub file:
-Internet.SetOperaForeground
-InternetPush.PostFirstRun
-PushMailOn
-DefaultBrowserIsIE
those look like points of interest. try changing the values around on those. i already turned the push mail on. but i havent seen a difference yet. maybe because i havent rebooted. but yeah, ill try those and get back to you..
I maybe too newbie but is it T-Mobile (UK?) settings?
Has the push function been removed from the ROM, or is it T-Mobile settings... I couldn't get MS Exchange to sync with T-Mobile default 3g settings so used these which worked... I don't know if it will help th push internet too... Just trying to help, if it's not relevant then flaming not appreciated!
Under the connections tab, edit existing connections...
ISP Name - T-Mobile GPRS
Name of Connection T-Mobile GPRS
Connection Type - Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Portal - general.t-mobile.uk
Username - user
Password - one2one
The default settings use a proxy server which some applications don't like.

I took a look through the registry, I went through the whole thing. I notice in software/HTC/manila there is the settings for push internet. I messed with some settings and it looks like the push internet is enabled by default but the touchflo program is missing the push internet settings button.
Is there a way to hack the layout links on the TF program through the reg?
I dont think you can access TF settings through the registry. i have seen many settings for it. just a couple here and there. We may need a fix for it in the form of a CAB. i dont see anyone figuring this out through RegEdits. im sure a lot of people have been through it and tried different things, so we may just have to wait for a new ROM?

Push internet is a new thing in the TP2. It downloads web pages on a schedule so they're ready when you need it. T-mobile took out the feature, presumably to save bandwidth.

aahhh!!! didn't know that...thanx
I have been checking through reg again.
I think that in the Hkey_CU/Software/HTC/Manila/ we are missing some of the Keys to push internet. I see that you can setup some of the push internet features but there are no options like the URL, download times, or anything, but just below the same area allows you to configure almost every other auto download service like schedule your stock, and download times, weather, auto-download.
Maybe someone with push internet working can post a pic of the push internet settings from Hkey_CU/Software/HTC/Manila/
There's also bound to be an XML file or additional settings in the existing one (InternetPortal-en-us.xml) and t-mobile might have removed a DLL or two. What we really need is a file-comparison of the two devices as well as a registry comparison.

htc hd2 problem

Hi XDA guys!!!
i got a problem this is my 2nd time flashing my nand with android.... and my 3g doesnt work, i wanted to know how and wich radio i need and how i install it... ty
You probably just need to set things up. My menu's are dutch, but if yours are english it will be something like:
settings>wireless and networks>mobile networks>names accespoints
Delete the ones in there and look up the correct settings for your provider on your providers website. Android doesn't get my internet and mms settings correctly either, so I have to set them up manually.
