HTC HD2 Hung at opening.

Hi guys. My HTC HD2 won't open anymore. It gets stuck at the white opening screen. I download an official rom and when i try to flash it the upload gives error [262] all the time. it wont flash any rom and i stupidly erased my mobile center with the advice of a different post. Could u guys help me step by step on this. I am a big noob on these stuff. thank you.

the white opening screen normaly means an incompattible radio has been flashed, check the links in my sig for details instructions on flashing

ive downloaded the windows mobiel center but i cannot connect my phone to it somehow. i tried also in the boot mod. still doesnt work.

phone wont sync with mobile device center as i cannot get it open. it doesnt see it as connected.

Startup your phone in the 3 color screen. (hold volume down while powering on)
then you could connect your phone with USB to laptop/pc and flash an official rom to make things allright.
That's what worked for me when i had this issue!

Official rom wont flash. it always gives connection error when i try to update it. Error [262]

before flashing did you flash your HSPL? I think TMOUS devices use the HSPL2. When you boot your phone there should be 3 Letters follow by numbers in the bottom left. I know there is R(Radio)G(?)(D)(I believe this is your base rom number) 1. Make sure you have HSPL/2 installed then check your radio. From there report back

I did install HSPL before i tried to reinstall it now but it gives usb connection error.

power off your phone and turn it back on holding the volume down key. This should enter the bootloader mode Tri-Colored screen. From there plug it in via USB. Open "computer" and see if your phone is being read. If so flash a new radio for your device.

It reads as USB now but everytime i try to flash. it says the image file is corrupted and the phone restarts

Try downloading a different radio, or the same radio, extract the file into a new folder, Rename the extracted file to RUU_signed.nbh, add the CustomRUU to that folder and Re-flash.

nope it still gives error [270] image file is corrupt

you first were getting error 262 no? now you're getting a corrupt image file. Meaning your download is either stopping, or the mirror you're downloading from doesnt have the FULL download of the ROM/Radio. Try a different mirror or a different Radio/Rom and follow the steps i PMed you with.

again gives 262 error now. why is this happening :/ im doing all the right things

First thing: Check out and post the HSPL No. in the boot screen...
(digits and letters)

Now I can't get any program to recognized my phone, i can't booth into anything on my phone. I didn't do any backup, help please. Thanks.

Nothing, I was following instruction, and got stuck here, couldn't do anything.

I think you are trying to install Magldr?
Run the Runupdateutility.exe, not the DAF.exe,
if installing Magldr:
Next time use the search tool (or google), got the solution with the first hit.

i think i have the magldr on my phone already, i have the boot menu, when i select "5 usb flasher" to flash a android rom, i got the errors above.

what radio do you have?

Hi there,
Got a HD2 Leo, basically unused.
However, I got no clue what happened to it before it found me, however this is what I get when booting it up:

when plugged on PC, it installed some drivers and suggested Windows Mobile Center and the serial changes to USB.
When I hard reset it, it asks me to go back to factory settings, when I press VOLUP, it just goes into a endless reboot screen (not constantly rebooting)
Is this device bricked or is there still hope?

there is hope. it looks to me as though everything has been wiped from the phone. But you have hspl installed. you now should decide what you want on your phone, wm6.5, wp7, android? This will determine what bootloader you will have to install.

Well it seems I can get some stuff on there, right now I can nagivate though aMAGLDR V1.13, this after I updated the radio (before I couldn't do anything) However when opening it shortly says: SD KERNEL FAILED
However I have two issues, when opening Windows Mobility Center 6.1, it shows I do not have a connection (When selecting USB flasher in MAGLDR) and therefore when opening the DWI.exe from the computer (Can't access SD card, should I be able to?) I get:
An error has occurred
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (1198)
Error Description: EnterBootloader missing
Info: .\RSPL\BootLoader.cpp (176)

I assume you are trying to install wp7.
it might be something simple like the micro-usb lead being a charging one (2 wired) instead of a data one (4 wires). See if you can borrow one.
Open dwi.exe using right click and run as administrator.
sd kernel opened failed- means magldr is looking for Android zImage using ad sd booting, you have to first set the folder name (eg NativeSD) using ad sd dir for magldr to find it (of course a (Native)SD rom must first be installed for those files to be on your sdcard). But you don't need any of this unless you want to dual boot android wp7. The only command you need is boot wph.

I'd really apprecaite some advice on flashing my HD2 to win7.8 i seem to keep running into the same roadblock. I've read and watched many tutorials but i keep getting the same error.
Basically i wipe my device, load magldr, boot into magldr and go to option 10 then option 4 for the last 24 option. I then go to USB flasher and attempt to flash a rom which always seems to fail the flashing on the 4th partition around 3quaters of the way with the following error.
Error Description: send d000ff partition data failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (1279)
Error Description: block send fail
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (962)
Error Description: flash write failed.
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (710)
I've tried:
Formatting SD card on my laptop
Formatting sd card via magldr service menu
Tried a different smaller sandisk SD card.
Tried no SD card
Trying another win 7.8 ROM
installing hpsl4 and a custom RUU (not sure what they do but still got to the same stage)
Is anyone able to help me get this installed at all i'd be eternally grateful! Perhaps help me decipher what this error message alluds to?

Just tried repartitioning in NAND to 300mb/45mb and instead of getting a red message when magldr first boots of "sd kernal failure" i get
nand kernal open failure could this be linked possibly?

Ok i'm about ready to give up if there are any experts around that could spare me 30 minutes of their time i'd glady reimmburse them for their time via paypal! Just need a little bit of troubleshooting help and confirm that the process i am taking is the correct one, i'm bound to be doing somthing stupid....

Managed to Flash win6.5 and also andriod Jellybean and Kitkit on the device but never win7.8 always get that error in the first post! :-[ insane!

My Dear friend ... First I'm sorry of seeing your thread late But now I'm here to help :laugh: ... as I read , you have problem with WPH installing ? ... so I'll give you some notes maybe you had left one of them ...
1- you should have HSPL 2.08 so if you don't have , Just install 2.08
2- you should do a Task29
3- install MAGLDR 1.13
4-enable "last 24 NAND" option in "services" menu of MAGLDR
5- format your SDcard
6- put it in the shut downed phone
7- install the WPH ROM but some times it gives errors at the beginning of the installation if you had that , it means the driver isn't installed so that you should install using Win XP but if the problem is that the process gives error in the middle / end of installation , it is usual and you have to install again and again to make it installed correctly ...
8- enjoy ( Due to being very hard , many people can't do this part so if you couldn't , just tell me to give you the Guide :laugh: )
NOTE : I tested that HD2O ROMs and usually have such problems so I recommend you to try PDAimatejam WPH 7.8 ROM , it is better and also all working ...
also you can Multi-Boot having both WPH and Android at the same time and it's the Best ( because WPH is really nice but has Battery drain and Android is good in battery and also nice :laugh: ) if were interested in that you can try this ... If had any Questions , I'll be Glad to answer ... Good luck

First of all I want to apologize for my english and hd2 knowlage.
I bought HD2 one year ago. He had broken glass but he worked perfectly with android 4.1.
My friend from whom I bought phone teached me how to change ROM. I was playing with all androids and everythings worked fine. But when i once dropped my phone i had to raplace lcd. After that my HD2 was working fine for 3 days and suddenly turned off and after that It was only loading system 1,2,3,4,5,6 GO GO GO! and stucking at this. After little reaserche I was installing everything from begginig but with many problems. When I tried to install MAGLDR113_DAF program:
Readme.txt for this release is missing.
An error has occurred

Dear Friend ... Welcome to XDA & HD2 Forums ... Well , about your HD2 , I think it's better to use HD2Toolkit ( which has all the required tools ) which you can download it from here ... then try the Following instruction :
1- reboot into Bootloader ( tri-color screen , reached by : Power Off => Hold VolDown + Power on )
2- Do a Task 29 when connected HD2 to Computer ( Task 29 is in the HD2 Toolkit )
3- When Done the phone reboots so hold the Vol Down quickly to get to the Bootloader again
4- Install CLK ( Just Android - real android bootloader ) / MAGLDR ( Can boot both WPH and Android - Having the black screen and "123456 GO !GO!GO! ) choosing the "CLK repartition " / "MAGLDR Repartition " then choosing the "System Partition size" and "Cach size " ( which is provided in the Thread of the ROM you're planning to install for example for Typhoon CM7 , it's 200 MB System + 5 MB Cach )
5- If have CLK , then just select install when in the black screen with white text then install Recovery using the "CLK install recovery" and then reboot into recovery by power off then hold Power + Start then enjoy ! ... But if have MAGLDR , in the phone choose "USB Flasher " then in Computer install using "MAGLDR install Recovery " and then when rebooted choose "boot ad recovery" ...
6 - Install An Android ROM in CLK / MAGLDR using the Recovery or install WinPhone ROM using the "USB flasher " in MAGLDR
7- Enjoy ... ( The hardest :laugh: ) ... Good Luck

When I'm trying to Install recovery there is a error with Connection, both in cLK and MAGLDR.
Freezes at "<waiting for device>" while installing cLK Rocorvery and "Pushing Image Flasher" in MAGLDR.
Same thing as half year earlier.
And i can't do nothing, i tried for many times. Do anyone know what could be the cause and how to fix it?

So , Try installing the Android ADB + Qualcom Drivers to get them to work ... ( it's better to try in Win XP )

I tried on Friend's Pc and everything went well till hd2 freezzed on 123456 GO!GO!GO! when i wanted to go in recovery.

So It should be from the NAND bad blocks ... so try CLK or BLK which are more usable in these situations ...

CLK doesn't work neither.

It might be that you have a bad block in your recovery area of nand, try increasing the size of your recovery partition by 1 or 2 mb and see if recovery boots. Assuming that you can get CLK or magldr to boot, which i think you are able to.
